I don't want to give you a red X, but I disagree. Yes, almost all of mine is in glass, with polycone caps, but there appears to be little (if any) downside to storing it in PET plastic. I discovered this by accident when I found some nic I'd bought 2-1/2 years earlier that I'd forgotten about in the freezer. It was fine. I've now got an experiment going where I'm comparing storage of identical batches of nic in its original PET plastic bottles vs. rebottled in glass. It starts here: Nic Base Storage: Freezer vs. Room Temp Experiment

I agree. PET is what's used in Coke bottles. Considering the high pressure involved at times with carbonated beverages, I wouldn't be concerned about splitting or breakage with PET in a freezer.

I have a deep freezer. If I had it filled with vape supplies after the vapageddon, I would be afraid of it ceasing to work and all that stuff being ruined.
The nicotine would not be ruined if the freezer went on the fritz. They would just not be as well preserved against gradual breakdown/oxidation. Nicotine isn't shipped frozen. Shops don't keep their juice in a freezer. It isn't meat that will spoil. I have just finished off a liter of 100mg that I kept at room temperature due to ignorance and lack of freezer space. It got a little amber and slightly peppery toward the end. I am hpily gaping it both flavored and unflavored.
The freezer just helps keep it unchanged over extended periods. It isn't necessary. I would avoid storing my nicotine in the backyard shed in Phoenix but don't let lack of freezer space or worry about a power outage keep you from stockpiling nicotine. It would be very easy to ban it or tax it at cigarette rates. $1/ml of 100mg/ml sounds likely to me.

For true long-term storage, cold is good.

Based on what I'm seeing here:
Nic Base Storage: Freezer vs. Room Temp Experiment
There's no way I would plan on keeping a vapageddon supply of nic anywhere except in a freezer.

However... That part of my stash that's in Florida has been through two power outages each lasting right around a week, first due to Hurricane Matthew last year and then Irma this year. The adverse effect of temporary, short term reversion to ambient temperatures appears to be minimal. So a freezer break-down or a power outage is not a big concern.

PET is pretty good (compared ot LDPE or HDPE) as a barrier to gas transmission (read - oxygen), but still worse than glass. Will it make really big difference for long term nicotine storage? I do not know. Bit I do know that glass is better. May be it's an overkill - but what if not? So, I choose glass.

I hope I didn't make it sound TOO safe. :) Lots of things you use can irritate eyes or skin and some produce vapors that you don't want to inhale. 100mg nic has its own little set of things to be careful about. Google it and read about precautions. More precaution is better when you are trying to be safe. The more you know the safer you'll be.

I settled on 60mg, but that's a very personal decision. As you said, research is essential (stealing from Reading Rainbow right there, yes I did).
