I tried to stop smoking multiple time but after 8 years it was so hard. I never really liked vaping because the only thing I had tried were the disposables and cheap ones at that. That was until my mom just bought me and my brother an ego-c twist and after a little bit of research I was hooked. Didnt stop smoking until after the first week because I ran out of analogs tho. So glad I made the decision to never go buy another pack. Now I have a bag full of flavors and ego batteries with an evic on the way. Its now more of a hobby than a habit, something that I enjoy but dont need.

I have been smoking for 7 years (started at 16). I was a 1/2 PAD smoker and never anymore really. I never really tried to quit because I LOVE the habitual and social aspect of smoking, and the nicotine. Two years ago I first heard of e-cigs, but the technology I was told really sucked so I never hopped on board. Then, this january my resolution was to quit smoking so I ordered a Blu. Have been using the Blu for about 2 months now, and have recently moved on to a Joyetech 510-T (LOVE it ^-^ ). Have not bought a pack of smokes since the first puff of my Blu. For the record, I don't recommend the Blu. Their pack is not very durable, and the Auto batteries are .... they like to fail, I'll be staying pure manual.

Yes, the 'tactile' element is a major advantage. But I wonder (like me from Portslade, UK) you see the same issues with acceptance in public places?

I do get that sometimes, if I go somewhere that I haven't been to before then I usually hold off the vaping until I'm outside. Though at work I vape everywhere in the airport and the same at the pub. Sometimes get the odd question about it but most of the time people accept it.

For me to was a myriad of reasons. I'm 30 years old, and I've been smoking for 17 years. I wanted to be around to see my 11 yo grow up and graduate college, live her life. Also, between my wife and I, we were spending $4k a year on cigarettes! That is SO Much money! The biggest reason is my dad's kidneys failed in January, and I want to give him a kidney. To do that, I had to quit smoking.

I picked up my ego T last Wednesday evening. I had my last cigarette Thursday morning. No going back!

I smoked a pack and 1/2 a day for 18 years. I was starting to really feel it in my lungs. It was starting to scare me really. Scared of getting that news from the doc that my dad was right and I would die of lung cancer. Everyone around me hated smoking and my kids had asked me to stop many times. I wanted to and I thought about it a lot but didn't think I could do it. Last December I came down with the flu. A really bad flu. Do you remember when you got sick and a smoke would hurt your throat to the point you couldn't smoke? Do you remember analogs tasting really bad when you were sick? Well that's what happened to me. The only problem was I was still climbing the walls dying for some nicotine. I drug myself to the store to get the patches till I felt better and could smoke again. I realized the patch was quite expensive. It was close to $50 for a box. I vetoed the idea and started to walk out. Vaguely remembering Something about e-cigs being on the market now. I looked behind the counter as I walked out and spotted the disposable blu. Pulled a 180 and bought two. I haven't had an analog since. Thank god!

Guys & Gals,

Can somebody help me here. My story goes like this...

"I smoked analogs for around 7 to 8 years. Quit them and did not use any tobacco for 2 straight years. Then slowly went to a chewing tobacco (indian type) in 2008/9. Have been taking this thing and not smoking, however I still do smoke socially and feel that whenever I smoke I dont need chewing tobacco. The problem is that this chewing tobacco is a lot more dangerous than analogs (that I used to smoke 20 a day) and it causes oral cancer in a few years. I usually have sores now on my tongue due to this tobacco which go away in a few days time, but are continuously a nuisance. Also this tobacco (chewing type) has been proved to be deterimental for male fertility parameters and this is another reason why I wanna quit this. I just saw an e-cig in a pharmacy in Dubai and thought why not switch to this. Did all my research and deduced (in my personal opinion) that they are though not completely safe but are much better than analogs (regular cigs) and if they are better than regular cigs (health wise), they must be definitely better than this chewing tobacco. I went to the same pharmacy again yesterday to buy one but they said they have stopped keeping it, however I will still be able to find it in tobacco shops."

My questions about e-cig are as follows:
1. Do they really replace the urge of having analogs or chewing tobacco specially if you are tense i.e. do they really work like the way cigs do?
2. How to start, and how to decide what to buy and all details about vaping (a term that I have learned from this website)?

Please do help me.

You don't miss the analogs at all?

As long as I can throw tons of vapor out of my lungs among suprised people I don't miss analogs at all. Of course in the first few months of vaping I had couple of bad moments but trust me buddy analogs taste like sh$$t when You compare them to decent liquids. I know those moments just before You give it up when You can't imagine a morning coffee, party, concert, late nights etc without stinkies but it's just Your brain playing tricks. I wanted to give up smokes for my lady, couldn't watch her smoking and destroying her health and that was most important thing to me. We are both happy vapers now :D

I smoked 1 PAD for 17 years. My Father-in-Law gave me a started kit "Just to try." Smoked all the cigs I had on hand then tried my vapor. Haven't had a regular cig since. It's been 31 days and while I have had some cravings I have been able to vape my way through them. I'm amazed. Never had enough will-power on using other methods to quit. (Patch, Gum, Prescription Drug). This has been so EASY!!
