Seriously ?
Ok, this is your official "you have been told".
What you do is your thing, but here - do not give out advice that could put someone at risk.
Good grief...

I saw you post about super low single cell usage and Mooch has never ok'd that. As a matter of fact, he's pretty much just listed what batteries can and cannot do (better yet what should not be done).
He's stated that CDR is the limit that can damage battery or shorten life possibly. It is not to be taken as it's okay to build at max CDR and nothing will happen. CDR is to be taken as the point of no return, the event horizon - we don't know what may or may not happen after that point.
Mooch has/does provide us with information regarding battery specs, are the manufacturers being honest. It is up to us to use safety precautions from there and before there. It's been stated to only use batteries we know, as in new from reputable vendors. Never use batteries from a pack, as age and modifications are unknown.
Yes believe it or not some companies modify batteries outside of the factory. It may be for the addition of monitoring a system (in pack use) or extra safety, such as surge protection. Using these modified batteries in our environment has unknown consequences, most of which are probably bad.
It's not that anyone is dumb, but maybe has misinterpreted information. Remember this, Mooch has said, "Vaping is not safe (nothing is) but with proper safety and precautions we can make it SAFER". I of course butchered his actual words, so I paraphrased.
I can’t talk about my builds anymore but was not talking about CDR I was told pulling cells from packs was dumb and it is safe if u know what ur doing or from someone that is trusted there is no other way to get the 40amp 20700A cells

NO
NO
NO
Pulling batteries from packs is not something that is going to be called safe nor is it going to be something that is recommended here.

See you didn't read my post or you again misinterpreted. Use only known batteries, NEW and from REPUTABLE vendors. Packs have UNKNOWN age (which includes cycle usage and abuse) and UNKNOWN (possible) modifications. NEVER use a battery that is used, as you do not know it's history or if it's authentic.
Ok I did read but pulled from new packs but ya now can’t talk about this ether even know it’s excepted way of getting the new 20700a cells u can’t buy any other way I have a vender I trust that gose and buys the new pack when he gets anuff orders

Liion sales them by the singles, a few different brands actually.
These batteries are designed to be used in power packs for all kinds of things from PC's to backup power for industrial systems. They actually aren't designed for the end user, that has been stated by Mooch. That is also the reason safety is preached about these things so hard.
We are using industrial batteries in a consumer environment and should use caution as well as respect for them (and their power). Ever wonder why no battery company (Sony, LG or Samsung) want to come out and make a vape labeled battery? Then the ones that do are Chinese companies (iJoy, Aspire). It's called lawsuits, if you're searching for an answer.

Sheesh...
Ever hear the line "a little knowledge is dangerous" ?
YOU (claim to) know what you are doing - fine.
Mooch DOES know what he is doing - and if he did, this would be with SPECIFIC packs that he has tested the batteries in.
HUGE DIFFERENCE !
The semi-knowledgeable down to the barely knowledgeable will only see/read battery packs and go rip up an unknown/untested pack and possibly get injured.
So - no - we are NOT going to discuss/recommend "just buying a battery pack" and pulling those batteries to use.
NO.
Thy don’t sell the 20700a sanyo no one dose can’t get them out side of packs is all I’m trying to say I want the 40amp 20700a Sanyo cell can u give me a link for that cell not pulling it from a Pack
