Seriously ?

Ok, this is your official "you have been told".
What you do is your thing, but here - do not give out advice that could put someone at risk.

Good grief...

Well there we go guess I now been “told” ok

I don't have a lot of interest in the psychological aspects of this thread. Some folks seem to dig on blowing their (selves) up. All the rage in some parts of the middle east. Could be the meter. Could be some internal resistance in the mod. Hard to say. Clean the mod real good. Diddly ahhhh diddly ahhhhh big boom!!!!!

Unknown sells I know 100% what there are and mooch him self has said that’s safe and fine so u calling mooch dumb as well?

I saw you post about super low single cell usage and Mooch has never ok'd that. As a matter of fact, he's pretty much just listed what batteries can and cannot do (better yet what should not be done).

He's stated that CDR is the limit that can damage battery or shorten life possibly. It is not to be taken as it's okay to build at max CDR and nothing will happen. CDR is to be taken as the point of no return, the event horizon - we don't know what may or may not happen after that point.

Mooch has/does provide us with information regarding battery specs, are the manufacturers being honest. It is up to us to use safety precautions from there and before there. It's been stated to only use batteries we know, as in new from reputable vendors. Never use batteries from a pack, as age and modifications are unknown.

Yes believe it or not some companies modify batteries outside of the factory. It may be for the addition of monitoring a system (in pack use) or extra safety, such as surge protection. Using these modified batteries in our environment has unknown consequences, most of which are probably bad.

It's not that anyone is dumb, but maybe has misinterpreted information. Remember this, Mooch has said, "Vaping is not safe (nothing is) but with proper safety and precautions we can make it SAFER". I of course butchered his actual words, so I paraphrased.

No, pulling batteries from existing battery packs is not safe, and will not be claimed to be again.

Pulling batteries from packs is not something that is going to be called safe nor is it going to be something that is recommended here.

See you didn't read my post or you again misinterpreted. Use only known batteries, NEW and from REPUTABLE vendors. Packs have UNKNOWN age (which includes cycle usage and abuse) and UNKNOWN (possible) modifications. NEVER use a battery that is used, as you do not know it's history or if it's authentic.

Liion sales them by the singles, a few different brands actually.

These batteries are designed to be used in power packs for all kinds of things from PC's to backup power for industrial systems. They actually aren't designed for the end user, that has been stated by Mooch. That is also the reason safety is preached about these things so hard.

We are using industrial batteries in a consumer environment and should use caution as well as respect for them (and their power). Ever wonder why no battery company (Sony, LG or Samsung) want to come out and make a vape labeled battery? Then the ones that do are Chinese companies (iJoy, Aspire). It's called lawsuits, if you're searching for an answer.

Outcast,

You don't need to announce you've been "told." We can all read.

I do not recall anything Mooch related EVER saying to pull batteries from battery packs, it's not standard practice.

Mooch tests cells when they become available, and those include some inn the 207-- series.

Again, I don't understand why you feel the need to "announce" to the world your unsafe practices again, after being told it isn't advisable. Then justifying it again, when there IS no justification for it.

The fact that this is the only source "you" have is rather meaningless (to me). There are safer sources and if you genuinely can't get THAT battery, you have other options.

I'm going to recommend that you check out some two or three battery REGULATED mods, and vape within their tolerances.

I wish you would stop espousing unsafe vape practices in a newcomer's thread. The fact that "you" feel you can do these things "safely" has NO BEARING on the OP's original question. It's not okay, and you should cease and desist.

PLEASE stop. This is just getting really unfortunate. You shouldn't OWN a mech let alone be giving out "advice." Stop with the "advice."

Anna

Sheesh...

Ever hear the line "a little knowledge is dangerous" ?

YOU (claim to) know what you are doing - fine.
Mooch DOES know what he is doing - and if he did, this would be with SPECIFIC packs that he has tested the batteries in.
HUGE DIFFERENCE !

The semi-knowledgeable down to the barely knowledgeable will only see/read battery packs and go rip up an unknown/untested pack and possibly get injured.

So - no - we are NOT going to discuss/recommend "just buying a battery pack" and pulling those batteries to use.

NO.

Nope, I'm not going to do your "work" for you.

Also, "wanting" a particular cell doesn't mean you should pull it from a battery pack. AGAIN, I am going to recommend a two or three battery regulated mod that you vape within its tolerances and stop pulling batteries from battery packs whether they are "available" or not.

Last I checked, there are TONS of successful vapers, vaping happily (and safely) without that particular cell. :)

Yup it’s is a specific pack used it’s the only one known off to have the 20700A in them no I don’t pull them I pay 15$ a cell to have someone I trust and get them from

Then don't use a Sanyo, problem solved, until they do have viable options. If you need that much power, then why not just keep using the Lipo's you always talk about or get a tri-18650 regulated mod.

If I need power and low builds, I use regulated mods, designed for that. There is no reason to go for a bigger battery and possible 'boom' in a mech setup. It is not safe nor needed, let alone it is the least efficient method.

I generally don't tell people how to vape but if you need to vape the way you are, something is wrong. I think you maybe stuck in the clouds measuring contest. I like clouds at times myself but have never seen the need for an ADV of measuring myself by the plume I can blow. Then again I've also never seen the need to risk my body or others for the sake of a comp (won a few and never built as low as you on a single 18650) or whatever reason.

If you chose to vape the way you do fine, but keep it to yourself. There are too many new comers that may mistakenly follow your advice and become injured. I've only had one battery vent and it was a bad hybrid setup (my fault, I got lazy). You've had several incidents, that should tell you something.
