I couldn't agree with you more. E-cigs are being banned in public places and it's OUR FAULT!!!! There is a time and place to blow obnoxious clouds and it's not at a public venue. Put yourself in the shoes of a typical business owner... would you want some kid blowing clouds in your store????

GREAT POST!!!

i agree with the OP, for the most part

when i started vaping over two years ago i did it because work banned cigarettes at work...ppl genuinely accepted me vaping even at bars because even though i wear boot cut jeans, timberlands, have diamonds in my ears, i'm clean cut, usually have a button down or polo on and look relatively clean.....however i go back to the same bars now and they hate vapors, why? because vapors have becoming annoying, i hear from close friends that work there that the kids won't shut up about it and talk like they are experts, it's the smugness hipster vibe they give off that makes ppl mad

heck i wrote a blog article about it when i went to a food park thing in brooklyn and then a flea market in philadelphia and the ppl there made me sick with how they dressed like slobs and talked with their smug attitudes and that has nothing to do with vaping, it's this new culuture of kids...and i'm in my 20's! my buddy made a comment about how it's cool to "these people are trust fund babies who dress this way because they never had anyone question anything they did because they had money"

i've also touched on how i'm not a fan of going to local b&m's because even if my weekend tshirt and jeans attire i am the cleanest looking person in the place, i couldn't picture either of my parents who don't smoke going in there and feeling comfortable when the customers look like they don't care about their health by how they present themselves, the employees are supposed to be trusted when they look worse than someone whos hungover?

it just reminds me of my teenage years when i used to ride BMX and most people thought we were trouble makers, the stereotype was right, most of us were trouble makers, stereotypes are what they are because they are mostly accurate, as a teenager we'd go to a local cafe that had punk bands play and even though i kind of fit in i could never blame people for judgeing them, they had no one to blame but themselves by the way they looked and acted

which leads me to feel this way, if someone saw a bunch of pbusrado's vaping somewhere they probably wouldn't say much or think as negative because he looks to be a clean guy, professional, and respectable in nature....then you see someone like rip tripper with his goofy beard, his spuratic voice, and know it all attitude not shutting up about the space invader coil he just built, what do you expect is going to happen!

overall if vapers are going cry and whine about being accepted and not hated on, then clean yourself up, dress nicer, and improve on your interaction skills
This literally hurt my brain...

Yup.... This is why the FDA came knocking what, nearly five years ago?

I am going to assume that the OP was never a twenty something, never made any mistakes or got a speeding ticket or drank to much and made a fool of himself. I am also going to assume that he has always know what to do in every situation all the time, has never gotten distracted while doing something that has caused anyone else any discomfort ever. I am also going to assume that because he has been so careful, respectful, overly mindful that up until now everyone has said "wow look at that respectful man, lets make sure we dont do aaaaaanyting to bother him"

I doubt it. It sounds like you think we should live in a liberal utopia where everyone acts like perfect little squares.

In all honesty, if someone is directly blowing vape in your face, its probably sure annoying, but so are alot of other things. People need time to grow up. And did you.

PS this thread kinda reminded me of this story hahahaha Man: I bought every pie at Burger King to spite whining brat | News - Home

What I like about this community is the mix of politics, ethnicities, etc. I think it's helpful to remember that both sides of the aisle created our present conditions: Reagan raised the drinking age to 21, and his wife came up with the ever-popular "just say no." Rightie stands against choice and marriage equality intrude the government into people's personal lives.

Lefties might ban smoking for health reasons, then might ban vaping, for misguided health reasons. Righties might keep cigarette taxes low, then go on to regulate vaping, for corporate reasons. Either way, vapers WILL be @#$%ed.

We have to stand together, tattooed or not, rightie or leftie, as we're the only ones who will. I fear that there will be regulation, whether the next POTUS is Clinton or Rand. My hope is that we will be allowed some say in how draconian that legislation will be.

I don't blow clouds or sub ohm but I have been studying up on it and would like too. I used vaping to quit ciggs but its turned into more then that. I love having a hobby and love to tinker.
That being said I do think we need to be respectful. I do not vape indoors in public. I vape as I smoked. Whether or not we see it is harmless I do not want to give anyone a reason to hate vaping. Simple as that.

When Reagan raised the drinking age, car deaths dropped drastically. With the libs trying to regulate ecigs, tobacco related deaths ARE NOT going to drop drastically like the would otherwise.

I shouldnt have even put the liberal part in the first post because right vs left isnt my point, Its that people need time to grow up, make mistakes and learn, and because of that we should cut them some slack, no one is perfect.

Everyplace I go now there are poorly dressed, tattooed, pierced hipsters who've taken over and co-opted vaping. They are all snobby about it too, mentioning how great they are at sub-ohm coil building and flashing their high end gear. Here's a thought hipster...buy a slightly cheaper mod and maybe you'll be able to afford a bar of soap!

We might disagree on whether the drinking age should have been raised, etc., and we likely disagree on just about everything else but vaping. We've probably both written to our various state/federal elected officials, probably both written various testimonies. imo that we can cut through the politics on this one thing is our strength :)

Agreed! :toast:

Had I been alive I probably would have opposed the drinking age law, but being only 24, it is all I know and I was just making a point :p
It probably wouldnt have affected me anyways, since i got a "special" ID at 18 :party::party::party:

Woah. I'm a business woman who is frequently dressed in business suits, but I have sub ohm builds in three of my toppers and just paid for my second, genuine, high end mod. Well, fifth if you count the three Provarii in the house (to be fair, I'm buying for myself AND hubby). I've got two kids as well. No piercings anywhere save for my ears, and only one tattoo I got on my 23rd b-day over a decade go. Who says only hipsters sub-ohm? And the bar of soap thing... Isn't that hippies? I thought hipsters were the wealthy crowd who brews their own artisanal beer? Either way, I don't belong to those crowds. I'm a soccer mom who likes to fiddle with electronics. Granted, I don't blow sub ohm clouds everywhere I go, but I live in NYC, and I have yet to see someone blow a sub-ohm cloud anywhere but in a vape shop. I don't think clouds in inappropriate places is as large a problem as those creating these bans would have us believe.

Who are you to tell me what I need and deny me what I want?
What is "reasonable" and who are you to decide what it is?
Don't take away my rights because someone else screwed up.
I don't care if they ban <whatever> because I don't use it or want it anyway.
If we don't submit to some regulation, there will be backlash and they will ban everything.
It's those fringe people of the community (not like me) bringing down the heat on us, not the people applying the heat, who are to blame.
If the devices were less efficient and more rudimentary, they'd be satisfied and leave us alone.
If the stuff was registered or regulated somehow, they'd be satisfied and leave us alone.
If we let them tax us, they'd be satisfied and leave us alone.
If we promised only to use them only at home, under the blanket illuminated by flashlight, at night on Tuesdays, in small amounts, they'd be satisfied and leave us alone.
A 0.01% mortality rate is not statistically significant nor consistent with precedent for enacting bans or creating regulatory infrastructure.

Oh wait... I thought this was the gun control debate.

I sub ohm, .5, but I only blow my clouds in the vape shop, in my car, or at home, or generally anywhere else where I am not annoying anyone, I dont do it because I want attention, or to look cool.
I do it because that is what I have found satisfies me the most
I have a Mech mod with a aerotank mega and .8 ohm coil I use when I am not using my drippers, it produces a great vape, but not as much as a dripper setup for me.

Maybe I should get a tattoo, and some piercings too
