Why is there a "........." stigma associated with people who use e-cigarettes?

The "doucehbag stigma" comes from multiple sources.

First off, the Media (being the wholly-owned subsidiary of and total ..... to the same Globalist Financiers who own most of Big Pharma) has mounted an aggressive anti-vaping campaign because vaping is cutting HARD into the profit margins of their dealth-dealing puppet masters. Since they have no actual SCIENCE or FACTS to use to discredit ecigs, they resort to ad-hominem attacks, and attack the PEOPLE who are vaping, by demonizing them and portraying them as snooty or obnoxious.

Secondly, it is a simple statistical fact that because most vapers come from a general cross-section of the general population of smokers, that there will unavoidably be people who actually ARE douchebags that are becoming vapers. It's simple statistics...

And thirdly, it is a matter of the social conditioning that our culture has undergone over the last several decades. This planned agenda of social conditioning has led the general public to perceive anyone who takes the initiative, takes PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for their own life and health, is motivated to be successful on their own outside the system, and ESPECIALLY anyone who expresses distrust or disdain for the Government and Corporate Powers as being rude, obnoxious, intolerant, and even dangerous and a "threat to the Republic".

In other words, yes, vapers are perceived as douchebags because some of them ARE douchebags. But MOSTLY it's because the public has been programmed to see anyone who is happy, healthy, and independent as a threat.

Welcome to the New American Century--where 99% of the people are serfs. And if you dare to stand up for yourself, you are a perceived to be a "........."...

Thank you. Thank you. And thank you!
You have hit the nail right on the head, and you have put this very well indeed.
Thank you very much!

I agreed with almost everything you said, except for the part about people standing up for themselves being perceived as douchebags.
Douchebags are a very different breed, and not exactly the definition you ascribe to them in my opinion.

A ......... is someone who is a ..........
It's plain and simple.

If the day ever comes when anyone who stand up for themselves and their rights is a ..........
Well, then all the world will have become a giant and horrifying cesspool.

I just don't think we're there quite yet.

Anyone who is a ......... probably doesn't know it. My wife doesn't think i'm a douchbag but maybe that guy I accidentally cut off this morning thinks I am. It's in the eye of the beholder. And big tobacco is licking their lips getting ready to take over this business. It's only a matter of time, in fact it's already started. You'd think that Vaping was a form of revolution the way some people talk on here. I vape because I enjoy it and it's a LUXURY. It should be taxed and taxed hard.

My definition of a ......... for today ?

The new guy in my work area, who came in late and promptly turned on all of the overhead lights, claiming loudly that his mom is an optometrist and told him to do that ...

We all work on flat screen monitors, and keep the lighting subdued. When all banks are lit, its brighter than an airport runway at noon ...

The blast of excessive illumination lasted about 30 seconds, after which Big George (320 pounds) slammed the switches off and duct taped them ...

DB is lucky that some of my less tolerant co-workers didn't toss him in a dumpster. It fell to me as the oldest to take him ouside to explain the dynamics of workplace etiquette ...

While outside with DB, I took a couple of hits from my PV, which triggered squealing, frantic hand waving and fake coughing, followed by a litany of nearly every media horror story about vaping, antifreeze, exploding batteries, poison, flavors for kids, etc ...

I guess if he's gonna be a ........., he should aim to be the best ...

True. This is part of the fundamental tenets of duouchbaggery--lack of self-awareness, and lack of awareness of how one's actions effect others.

You'd think that Vaping was a form of revolution the way some people talk on here.

Oh, but it IS, brother. Just because you're not "standing on the front lines" doesn't mean the shots aren't being fired. The "NIMBY" attitude--"if something doesn't directly impact me, then it doesn't really exist" is what has gotten vaping in the predicament it is in today with the government, and society in general.

In fact, this very attitude is why so many of our rights are being whittled away.

But being from NJ, where most of your Constitutional Rights were done away with before you were probably even born, you might not miss them--or be as attached to them--as people who have lived in parts of the US that aren't Separatist Nation-States where they consider the Constitution to be a hurdle to overcome, rather than a sacred list of inalienable, fundamental human rights.

I vape because I enjoy it and it's a LUXURY. It should be taxed and taxed hard.

AAAAAND---I refer the audience to "Point 2" of post #80. Case in point... ;-)

it's come to my attention (through the internet and television) that using e-cigs is the sign of a "........." and that people who use them are smug about it.

The web and media are like that, showing the most stereotypical of d-bags (hipsters) :cough:

Would vaping on a plane be considered douchbaggery?

I was in front of Walmart today hitting my silver bullet and a dude stopped (he was smoking a cig). And asked me if that was a replacement for smoking cig's. I told him yeah, it is a more safer way to get the same result. Plus you dont get that gross ashtray taste. He asked me if he could try it, I said sure why not, he took a hit and choked like a madman. I use 36 mg nic, so the throat hit my have just hit him hard. He was like dam, thats worse than cigs. I said look at it thia way. 5-6 ingredients in juice, 7000+ hazardous toxins in cigs. He was like ya true dat. He asked me were I got my mod I told him to goto altsmoke.com. He said thanks and was looking up the website on his phone as he entered the store. Heh

I have also ran into people that smoke and say that vaping is worse for you than smoking cigs or cigars. I was like, Umm k, keep smoking those cigs. I'll stick with my vape!

My BIL choked when he tried too. I used 18mg then... Funny, I never choked.

I've been using e-cigs for a few years now, and while it hasn't completely stopped me from smoking real cigarettes, it definitely has helped significantly.

However, it's come to my attention (through the internet and television) that using e-cigs is the sign of a "........." and that people who use them are smug about it. I wouldn't consider myself smug about it at all. I don't look down on people who still smoke real cigarettes and I don't think highly of myself because I'm using an e-cig. The main reason why I use it is to cut down on real cigarettes and hopefully improve my health and cut down on the risks of a real cigarette.

I mostly vape while at home as opposed to out in public, but when I do vape in public, I can't help but wonder if people automatically think I'm a ......... because of it. I'm at an age now where I really don't care what others think about me, but I still think it's unfair that people would judge me without really knowing a damn thing about me.

I've noticed it, but it's only because many people are prejudice and judgemental idiots lol. I remember before I started, and I first saw someone smoking a blu-cig I thought "Oooh don't they just think they're cool and alternative". It was probably because I was a cranky smoker, and was sub-consciously jealous that they were intaking nicotine in a cleaner/sexier way.

That and I think many who don't know anything about vaping see it as "radical" or that they automatically are snooty because they're taking a (relatively expensive) step towards bettering their health. They think "They think they are soo much better because they're intaking nicotine in such a modern, and unique way".

~Nicotine "Hipsters", it's ridiculous, because people vape for so many different and honest reasons, that it's impossible to categorize. I'm sure their are those vapers that think they're so much better than smokers though, and they take every opportunity to rub it in others faces that they are the shiza, and better than you. That's unfortunate because it does make us all look bad, just like people who wear their hat backwards. I've known so many amazing people who wear their hat that way, because they want to cover their head from the sun, and simply because it feels more comfortable to not have a bill in your face all the time. (plus it keeps the sun off your neck).

I don't get it myself personally, but we all know there's an overwhelming majority of "backwards hat guys", that are...less than respectable, straight up douchebags. The rude teenagers, the frat "bros", the limp bizkit & nickelback fans lol (hell I kinda like limp bizkit 10% of the time, guilty), and even the guy with a monster truck that has to be most macho at everything. (I'm guilty of the big truck thing, but I promise I don't have small...feet , I just offroad).

Although I did hear a joke that really made me laugh on Conan'o Brian the other night. And it was "Things that have never been said in the history of mankind." And one of them was:

*"I could tell how great a person he was, by the way he smoked his E-cig."*, I somewhat understand because there are some of us that are guilty. But 99% of us are great people, and I can tell that from being on ECF.
