I always see ,when someone suggests Provari . He follows it with "If your budget allow,if you got the cash..etc,"

Its only $160 or $200 before sale. I mean hello ,Iphone is $900 I think. IMO $160 or $200 is a very good price for something that u can use for years . Its an electronic device after all ,and a good investment

$900 is out of my budget for something like a mobile phone so I have an INQ that cost $50.

$160 is out of my budget for something like a pv so I have an ego that cost $40.

Not everyone has $160 - $200 to blow and comparing it to something overpriced like an iphone doesn't make it any more affordable.

If you only need a $50 phone, why buy a $900 one. Same goes for a pv. :2c:

Why do I think a provari is expensive? It would cost me £200 to get one here in the UK after shipping, and that's not including import tax if I don't get it from the UK. £200 is $312 right now. That's half the rent. Rather have somewhere to live than have a pv that isn't a requirement.

I wouldn't call it over priced at all. It all depends on how much you are willing to spend on the quality of your vape. I own a ton of different mods myself. For a good year I was a daily silver bullet user. Now I find myself using my joyetech ego passthrough battery with a ego booster. I get to vape for an unlimited amount of time and not need to worry about batteries at all. Its all personal preference.

Right but the thing with cell phones and pv's and many other items is that you know your going to lose it, drop it or break it with in a year. At least I know I will. My goal with all things I carry on a day to day basis, is to make sure I won't cry when I leave it in at the grocery store or run over it backing out of the driveway.. If it is something that will stay in the safety of my house......then it has a longer life span and I will pay more. I give my new PV nine months tops before it swimming with the fishes... I spend a lot of time near water hazards.......

Even if you have that kind of money it still is a big ticket mod. That being said for some of us it works out to be a bit more than the 160. I dont even own a mod yet so by the time i configured it the way i wanted and got the batteries and all that it came out to 270. Even if i have that kind of money, and was willing to spend that kind of money, for the same amount i could buy 2 to 3 other mods!

Price is not the issue with me i just find it so damn ugly. Even worst to me is the lead time on the thing. It would take 3 to 4 weeks before they would even ship it to me! whats up with that. Actually this is sorta a gripe i am having with more and more vendors. If you are a little guy trying to sell mod on the fly its one thing. When you get these big companies or large ticket mods they never have them in stock. At first i was interested in the helix and a darwin but they never have them!

the really strange thing is neither the helix nor darwin really offer much in the way of options. Its hey heres the mod this is what it comes with this is what it does, right. So if you offer a out of the box plain jane mod then why not have a large inventory.

Man im sorry not meaning to soapbox on you guys just one of those little things that PO

My PV is like a part of me. If I dont know where it is for a couple minutes I start to freak out. I can understand dropping it every now and then but I know I would never loose it. I have had my SilverBullet since it came out. I have and my Joye Ego since they have been out. I still have my Joye 510 I started with years ago. I never lost cigarettes when I smoked and I do not think I will ever misplace a PV the thought of it makes me shake.

If a budget is tight then it's best to live within your means. I certainly can't afford an iPhone (not sure of the exchange rate but here they vary from £100 to £300) and as for the Provari, yes it looks nice but I wasn't going to shell out that amount of money for something I wasn't even sure was going to work for me. You start with something and if you want something else then you save.
When I was a smoker, all my spare cash went on my addiction of the stinky sticks and yes, I had to save (be it walking instead of taking the bus or car) but now I'm set up with something that is working for me I have the extra cash but for me, I would rather spend that on my little boy. If I decide to upgrade it will be a treat for me that I will work and save for but not at the expense of my family. I was selfish as a smoker, I got myself into this and was hooked and hated myself for it which made things worse but now I am in control and can do the things I want to do with my little boy.
It doesn't matter what you spend on your PV, if it works for you then it's a good investment regardless of whether it cost £30 or £300 but for now, I'm happy.

Keep in mind that "$900" iphone is $199 on contract.

Do they have a service contract for PVs?

I can't afford to by one and if I could afford it would I? I doubt it unless it comes with insurance, if you lose it or if it gets stolen they would replace it, there are so many good mods on the market that have reasonable prices that I don't see a need to buy it, but that's just me, if I did buy it it wouldn't leave my house!

In this day and age budgeting is a priority. Yes smoking is expensive and vaping is cheaper but vaping isn't always cheaper to start. Some people have to order samples to try new juices because they don't have a store close by. It just all depends on what your life is like and what you can afford at the time. Especially right now if you have kids christmas is VERY expensive and you might have to live with what you can afford and save up for what you want. 160 is expensive to a lot of people right now.

I got into modding, right now I'm vaping on a VV box which operates off of batteries or, with the flip of a switch, an AC adapter. I put this together for under $20, if it breaks, I can fix it. I could afford a Provari and was tempted when the wife asked what I wanted for Xmas to say a Provari. Instead I went with a new iPod Touch; no need for an iPhone either, my $20 Tracfone works just fine. :D

It really depends on what people want and can afford. I can afford a Provari, or the higher priced Darwin, no problem, but the features didn't do anything for me. If someone likes an LCD, click interface, etc., it scratches the geek itch in them, cool. For me, I wanted my definition of high performance (good voltage regulation, good protection circuitry, high power capability, simple on-the-fly voltage adjustment) in a durable, simple, package, so I bought what I bought. Durable and simple were key -- my PVs regularly visit hard surfaces (I'm a klutz).

I'm not a luddite, I work in high tech designing fancy, pricey, systems. Elegance is what I seek -- the combination of performance and simplicity. What I boiught meets my goals, and that it came in at a good chunk less than a full Provari kit was simply a plus.
