All I can say is you do get what you paid for- Provari - great quality mod, allows you to find your best volt for your juice along with batt reading and atty reading, comes in great led and a solid construction - worth every penny.
iPhone does not cost $900 , even an open no contract phone is 400-500 for 32gb or 199 with contract. It's an amazing phone that perform like a computer so u actually gets more then just a phone. I use mine all day for everything including VISA/M.C mobile terminal charges on the phone itself on the go etc etc
In my opinion it's allot of bang for my dollar.

Us Walmart shoppers are satisfied with the epower.

I use a provari at home. I also have a couple of epower batteries that I use when out of the house. There is also a variable volt usb ego that usually just sit in my truck. If I forget my epower or drain the battery the ego can be charged in the truck.

I like the provari but don't need it for a satisfying vaping experience.

Well I have a PV right here in my hot little hand that cost me $2.20 to make.

While thats very true TJ the sad fact is most of use suck at that sort of thing. Hell you want bread, i am a world class baker. I can even bake bread on a camp fire. You put parts and pieces in my hand all your likely to get is a lump of melted parts lol

If i could find some clear and detailed directions i might be able to hack something out but it would never be pretty ya know :)

I don't think $175 for a Provari is expensive. And I'm not exactly rich.

The reason is I was spending $175 EVERY Month on analogs. Every Month.

I also have done all the “half steps” of buying a Slightly better e-Cig too many times only to end up with 3 or 4 kits which just sit in the drawer.

So when I decided that I wanted a VVPV I bought a $35 VV Box Mod from Mad Vapes. The day it arrived I saw that a VVPV was the way to go. It was also the day I ordered a Provari.

Is the Provari overpriced? Probably.

But…
Has the it work flawlessly since day one?
Does it do Everything I want a PV to do?
Does ProVape stand behind their products if there is a problem?
Does it feel Solid in my hand and not like I’m hitting off a Garage Door Opener?

I guess see the cost of a Provari as expensive. That’s fine. But like I said, it was what I was spending Every month on analogs.

So to me it isn’t.

If you want to set a bread on fire, give it to me. I don't even need a light. But I did succeed in soldering a MadVapes 3.7 box mod together. Actually, three of them. On two of them the LED doesn't work, and the one with the LED is long gone now, but hey, cheap and functional!

Since I've been vaping (December 2010), I've spent so much money on different types of ecigs. I've gone through 801 kits, 510 kits, a Screwdriver, a mod box, a KR808 kit etc. I recently bought a ProVari and couldn't be happier. It's given me what I just couldn't get from other types of ecigs. If I had just bought the ProVari when I started, I could have saved myself a lot of money. Yes, the ProVari was $200, but IMO, it's well worth it. Is it my last mod? Probably not, but for now, I don't use anything else.

Thankfully we have this wonderful lady in the vaping community that we call "Mamu".
Here is one of her latest. This will blow a Provari right out of the water!

I had to actually BUY one before I realized how "cost efficient" it is. With a carto-tank or two, my disposable expenses have dropped dramatically, and my time (time=$) spent futzing around with the thing is even less than messing around with analogs.

My ProVari goes EVERYWHERE with me, and never fails to satisfy unless I have a dumba55 attack like yesterday. I left my spare batt in the charger at work, and our doors automatically lock at 4:15. When I got home I broke out the 3.7v batts; first one dead; second one gave about ten minutes; third one got me through the night/morning, but only just; I can't believe I was ever happy with 3.7 rigs; they just don't cut mustard anymore.

My typical vaping day now involves slapping in a fresh-charged battery, loading a tank, and vaping happy all day long. With ego type rigs, it was MUCH more involved and I burned through cartos so fast that my disposable expense was the same, if not higher, than analogs.

I'm sorry but $160 is ridiculous for something that... VAPES... It should at least be able to make calls for that amount of money, I'll never feel like a provari is cost efficient, that's just not possible... :/

    LOL...

Yeah, at that price you should be able to text with it or at least play an .mp3 file.

Very Cool pdf. Once of the Best How-To’s I have seen in awhile.

But some of us are Solder Challenged and don’t know an IC from Capacitor.

I guess for us the only option is buy a Pre-Made PV.

For me, nothing beats the Provari. It has been the mod that works with anything. All different types of Carts, tanks, atties and CE2's. I use 3 different liquids and each liquid needs to be used at different voltages. It checks what ohm you are using so it can be adjusted accordingly. I needed something that lasts all day and has the ability to be adjusted to what I vape at that time. It was money well spent.

It does what it needs to do and needs nothing more. Its also built to last. I have the black chrome one and I think it is scratch proof. It is indestructible.
That being said, I'd be all for expanding the functionality with some innovative 510 threaded attachments. Maybe a flashlight, or a cell-phone charger... or maybe a tiny bubble machine for watching Lawrance Welk Reruns.

Absolutely. You have to give the guys credit for innovation, quality and functionality.

I look at it a bit differently. I am very happy with my el-cheapo setup (5 boxmods).
The vape is perfect (for me)
I do not care if it breaks (despite being cheap all of them still work perfectly after many months)
Do not care if I lose one
Don't have to remain vapeless if something goes wrong
Have batteries, charging, atty/carto resistance down to a science for my taste.
I bought all 5 at the price of 1.
If I need another (although with 5 already hard to see why) I can get it in 2-3 days.

Disclaimer: I do not own any expensive PV nor an I-Phone

I don't know I used to spend $372.00 a month for cigarettes if there was 31 days in that month and I could always afford that somehow and I had nothing to show for that expence except a smokers hack so when I stopped smoking I had an extra 372.00 month so I could easily buy a provari and still have $186.00 dollars extra that month, and it speaks to the techie in me and I like it. I may break out my soldering iron and get into modding one day soon.
