The way I feel is buy what you want, it is your money but buy it for enjoyment. I see way too many peeps buy stuff to use as a status symbol when it really isn't necessary. An example would be like someone chiming in with "Oh if your not using blah blah blah, you don't know what vaping is. This blah blah blah is only $352,021,221.63", when the topic of the thread is "What is a good cheap mod to go with?"

We stopped smoking for more time on the Earth, not see more people become elitists.

BTW, Happy Saturday everyone!

Hey everyone I just wanted to say that I love this place and I'm not here to piss anyone off, so If I offended you in anyway I apologize. I just don't like when someone tries to make a good product out to be junk when its not. Both are good units and both will work well. Lots of new people come here, including myself. I'm not an expert and have very little experience so I come here to learn as do others. I feel that some have agendas and are fanboys or girls and can lead people in the wrong direction or give misinformation because of their bias.

Like I said earlier, I don't own either but if I was going to spend my hard earned money on one it would be the cheaper one because bling is not important to me...function at a good price is. I can afford either one but I would rather have the extra money in my pocket.

No hard feelings guys.... and this is the last post i will have on this subject. So Cheers and vape on. :vapor:

Well I dont intend on compairing to 2 since this thread was about something totally different. But it all adds up to what you want and can afford. Reguardless of what you may think or try to reason $200 is not something some people can come up with in a pinch. You forget that some like me just cant do that. Besides what am I going to vape untill I get my bills back in order? or what bill dont I pay and have turned off? So cheap is all some of us can do. So as I said maybe next year I can afford one. Plus with a tight budget I dont think I really care where it comes from as long as it is a vv. My vv I got, I had to save for 2 months and suffer the third to get it and still have ejuice to vape, so I could get a $50 vv box mod.. So if you can afford it with no problems, count your blessings. But for us that are not so blessed and are doing what they can to improve there life will get the best they can when they can. So just keep believeing that it is no big deal and everybody should have one.
Now that being said, It makes me wonder...if USA made things are so great, why is it that most of the things we buy is not made in the USA? I know this will cause a uproar, but it is true. Most everything in your house is made somewhere else.
I am done ranting and done with this thread. Have a Merry Xmas!

124 posts.... Geeeeeeze

Either buy or don't.

Whats the Big Deal?
Lol, you just added to the post count! I was also surprised by the many comments on this thread, but on reflection I think this is an excellent topic. Let's face it, it has been on most people's minds for a long time. No-one likes to think that they overpaid for something and yet, most of us want the best there is to offer. Many newbies get told by others the very first time they introduce themselves to scrap their eGo or whatever and immediately get a Provari, since that is the best and the only way to go, (that really upsets me by the way) or variations along those lines.
Many of us get an expensive mod or consider getting an expensive mod thinking and hoping that is will be the Bee's knees, the end of all doubt and worry, and that we will NEVER have to buy another mod ever again, ie. save money in the long run...? Maybe some of us here have, but many haven't. Then cheaper but similar mods like the LavaTube make an appearance and people start to wonder if they really NEED that expensive (Provari/Darwin etc.) gadget that the OP told them they have to have.
I just want to say from my own personal experience, that SINCE getting my Provari, I have bought 4 new mods and 2 other ecigs! Oh and that is without all the tanks and carto's etc. etc. trying to get that elusive sweet spot with the Provari. Nothing is really 100% perfect all of the time and in any situation.
Just my 2 cents :).

So what is my point? Not sure really hehe...

As much as I love my Provari, I still kind of prefer my MadVapes VV Box Mod, my EGo-T's and other stuff.

I NEED at least 2 fully functional PV's... and at least one backup. Chain vaping, even the same juices, I am just a two fisted vaper.

I prefer regulated VV because I am spoiled for anything else... even if you can get the perfect vape out of a mechanical pv matched with the perfect batt/atomizer, there's just too much going on with atty's, carto's, tanks, rebuildables to experiment with to not have a good VV.
Some of us just don't know when to stop. heheh.
So I have 3 of them; 2 Provari's and a Sgt II vv right now and an eGo of course.

I sold all my mechanicals, and my Buzz Pro to make some room.
I have a Kronos box ordered, and will get the VVPV as soon as it comes out - I beta tested it and like it a lot.

I always have a fund for the next greatest thing... knock on wood.
One of my Vari's is a first run, over a year old, and runs like new. I think I'll always have at least one Vari.

The lavatube is an example of an American company ripping off another company & reverse engineering.

I didn't have any issue with the lavatube when I first saw/read about it - I figured someone had decided to make their own version of the ProVari, and more power to them. Then I read that the company selling them here had actually bought a ProVari and sent it over, specifically to have a company reverse engineer it, and did this for an exclusive distribution deal in the US. I don't like that kind of business practice. It's sort of understandable when a Chinese company rips off a design, because they do that with everything. Copyright and ownership rights don't mean much over there. It's a whole different thing when a US company does it. Maybe I shouldn't feel that way, maybe I should be offended by both, equally, but I'm not. I expect Chinese business practices to be a little sleazy and as dishonest as they can get away with, I expect more/better from a US business.

I don't know where the lavatube is selling in the US, but I can guarantee I'll never spend my money there if I see it on a site somewhere.

In January when I bought my provari there was nothing else like it, I am happy with it and always use it at home. Now there are more choices out there and I'm not sure if I would buy one again. As I have stated before I like it but don't need a $200 battery for a satisfying vaping experience. It is the Cadillac of vaping and for many it's features and reliability make it worth the money. Other vapors can't afford it or don't want to spend the money.

My opinion is that at one time it was worth the money and now it is overpriced.

I always see ,when someone suggests Provari . He follows it with "If your budget allow,if you got the cash..etc,"

Its only $160 or $200 before sale. I mean hello ,Iphone is $900 I think. IMO $160 or $200 is a very good price for something that u can use for years . Its an electronic device after all ,and a good investment

$160 is a little too steep for my wallet right now. I just started vaping 2 days ago and my Volt works for me now. I will upgrade at some point, but that still seems expensive.

As far as an iPhone being $900, you can get them a lot cheaper than that. You can get a iPhone 4 for $100, or a iPhone 4S for $199. Both require a 2/yr. contract with Sprint or Verizon to get it at that price. With no contract the iPhone 4S 16GB is around $500-$600 I believe.

It does what it needs to do and needs nothing more. Its also built to last. I have the black chrome one and I think it is scratch proof. It is indestructible.

@ricks, I'm glad you think yours is scratch proof, but my new black one, in less than a week already has a couple of small blemishes where the black chrome is missing. A couple 'lines' the width of a narrow pencil line and 1/8" to 1/4" in long. I can't really call them scratches as the metal isn't etched/scratched into it, more like if just the top layer of chrome has been removed somehow.

It boggles me how this has happened. I never lay it on its side or put it in my pocket without first putting it into a soft cloth or leather sleeve. The only metal that touches it could be my wedding band. But that shouldn't be hard enough to be causing it.

i do like it's shape, feel, functions and vaping so I'm doing my best to over look the touchy cosmetic of its finish. But I expected it to hold up much better and not show it's age and acquire a used patina quite so fast. I knew eventually something like this would happend, just not in the 1st week. It's my only disappointment.

As to the topic of the thread - yes it is one of the higher priced mods out there. I'm surely not rolling in money being retired and on a fixed income. But I was buying 2 to 3 cartons of analogs a week. That wasn't cheap either. After vaping eGo's for 3+months, I treated myself to the Provari as a reward for being of the analogs and incentive to stay off them.

As to the bells and whistles of the Provari compared to others well that's just a Ford vs: Chevy debate. Neither side will ever win. You pick what you like. I liked the looks, heft and style of it. It had a good array of functions, so i bought it.

If you think its a defect on the finish, Provape will most likely take care of it. Email them and see what they say.
