If it turns out to be 304, Steam Engine will show how to compensate via temperature. E.g., if a 450F vape is desired on SS 316L, on a mod calibrated to SS 304, the temp should be lowered to 390F.

Just adjust by feel, of course, but it's kinda neat Steam Engine provides that "equivalent" calc.

Here's a chart:
It's saying 240F set on the mod would deliver a 260F vape with 316L.
Setting of 270F delivers 300F.
Setting of 310F delivers 350F.
Setting of 340F delivers 380F.
Setting of 350F delivers 400F.
Setting of 370F delivers 420F.
Setting of 390F delivers 450F.
Setting of 420F delivers 480F.
Setting of 450F delivers 520F.
Setting of 480F delivers 550F.
Setting of 500F delivers 580F.
Setting of 520F delivers 600F.

I just did a fun little experiment on a DNA200 to see if this works in reverse (so to speak).

A SS 316L coil set to Steam Engine's 316L profile at 400F (with a 32 watt setting) was delivering a nice gentle vape that averaged 29.5 mean-watts on the custom display line (love that feature).

I then switched to a Steam Engine 304 profile and lowered the temp to 350 (per the chart) and it ended up pushing, you guessed it, 29.5 mean-watts to the coil, once again.

Spot on! (And the vape did feel identical.)

This gives me a fresh appreciation for the RX200, because it illustrates the method to their madness: most SS wires types should be in reach with a little temp compensation. And choosing 304 (if it is that) gives it plenty of range, erring on the side of too warm rather than anemic.

Hopefully, this all proves to be true in practice. Still waiting for my RX's to arrive (Saturday it looks like).

Other random thoughts, for advanced builders and cloud compers (which I am not)...

A bit of potentially not so great news, it appears SS 430 lovers would only get a max temp of 455F with the mod maxed at a 600F setting. (The way I vape, it would probably be enough.) But for the price of this mod, losing some upper range with SS 430, which is an exotic wire anyway, is a non-issue.

That said, SS 430 may be in reach by using the Titanium setting and using low temps to get higher SS 430 temps. E.g., a Titanium setting of 230F should hit 500F on SS 430.

Also, using the Titanium and/or Nickel setting on the RX200 may be able to hit the ranges of: NiFe (Reactor Wire), NiFe30 (Resistherm), and NiFe30 (StealthVape).

Just about every wire in the SE database looks like it could, just maybe, be used with the RX200 (not that this is recommended).

So, at least in theory, the three wire types in the RX200 could provide a good amount of range with the more advanced TC builds -- using Steam Engine as the starting point.

I got two of these things from different places and both TC is not working at all, doesn't even bring the options for TC up even after the update. The first one was working until I put in new LG-HG2 batteries so I am thinking the batteries are causing my issue for some reason.
You know how to switch modes with 3 clicks of the fire button yeah?
Try switching modes with no atty attached. 3 clicks will enter Ni, 3 more for Ti, and finally 3 more for ss

Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

Mine arrived today put 3 lg chocs in and put my subtank on it with a .36 430 grade ss coil and I needed to raise the temp by 20°c to get the same vape i got on the xcube2 but as it's TCR is set for something other then 430 likely the reason. Very happy with it quality mod for the money I've paid a lot more for a lot worse.

A copypasta of a post by danda69 on FT forums:

Dear friend,

we are now testing the TCR for RX 200, I think it will come to the market soon.

just got this from wismec in an email ..sounds promising

I think Wismec is doing well addressing customer concerns with the quick firmware revision and now this,:thumb:

A menu driven TCR adjustment would be fine but I am hoping for an escribe type interface as well.

I've seen that elsewhere kybluekyblue gotta be honest with user set TCR this mod would be all anyone needed and I'll bet most owners end up with more then one. Longevity is the only question with this mod but if build quality is anything to go by gonna be an awful lot of happy rx200's owners.

I'm having an issue updating my rx. I have it plugged into my computer and have tried all 3 USB ports but when I try to install the small pop up screen isn't acting like it sees my mod.

Any help would be awesome.

I had same issue on my evic mini ... some how managed to put the lead into the socket upside down :?:

Thought it would only fit one way but goes in easily either way
