So is not defective and i should not be worried? Any other way i can test this mod? I have a cubis, serpent and griffin
Cubis - ss
Griffin and serpent - kanthal

Seems normal to me...you can balance that out by playing with the wattage, lowering it till you find the setting that just gets you up to temp with your vaping style

Hm...at 27W, in W mode, with Cubis the screen is getting a bit hot when I chain vape. This is ok? I hope with the griffin will not burn at 60W lol. Sorry i'm beeing sceptical but now i question everything so I can be sure if I will send it back or not.

Can't say without feeling for myself. Any mod will heat up during chain vaping. The mod has built in overheat protection. If you aren't getting hot enough to trigger that, you should be ok

Hi All, just recently picked up a RX200 and it's great - Only "issue" I have (if it is one) is every now and then when I go to take a vape nothing happens, when I look at the screen I can see that the Ohm is a 0 and then it detects the correct reading but more often than not will drop a little in wattage - Say I vape at 70W it will display 69.9. Is this normal? My Kbox 200W doesn't have this issue, neither does my cool fire. I usually run a Velocity RDA and have tried with other tanks and the same thing happens. I'm also running the latest firmware and no change.

Any ideas?
What atty are you using?

Taking out the batteries from ext charger at 4.2 is showing in mod like this picture. I tested them in the vtc mini and all of them are showing at 4.16. All 3 cells are LG HG2 bought yesterday. Witch one you think is wrong? Will get even in time?

The rx200 is quite inaccurate in the battery charge it shows. Mine show a spread similar to that when checked on the mod, but never more than a .01 difference on the charger or a dmm. Don't worry about it.

I ran a tiny log of what the RX said the battery voltages were vs. my digital multimeter readings. The readings within brackets are from the multimeter).

3.60, 3.62, 3.68
4.11, 4.26, 4.21 (4.20, 4.20, 4.20)
3.91, 3.95, 3.99 (3.91, 3.92, 3.92)
3.82, 3.86, 3.92 (3.83, 3.83, 3.83)
4.21, 4.21, 4.14 (4.21, 4.20, 4.20)

Yup, that's pretty much what my results have been as well.

Ok, we already know that the on board charging balancing chip on Rx200 doesn't work as it should.
We already know that charging the RX200 via the usb isnt recommended becsuse of all the damaged mods out there with the un-fixable check battery error.

What we dont know is if we can use a jumper wire from the board to the usb battery in (-) and out (+) contacts to fix it.

Its just an idea i have because of the wiring setup of the dna200's usb. I wonder if jumping a wire or fuse to the boards usb would work.... Idk just thinking out loud... Dr. Freaking-Rx-stien!

I took a pulse probe and checked the usb + and - on a dead Rx200 with the check batt error. I didnt get a low signal when I touched the neg wire contact on the usb but I did when I touched every other neg contact on the board.

Can we rewire the board to by pass the usb connection on the board or can we bridge the + or - usb pads?
Ok lets hear it...

Do we actually know that? I haven't heard any reliable reports on either, only anecdotes. Reports of damaged rx200s seem to be few and far between, particularly considering how popular the mod is. You won't find many in this thread, for example.

Well Wismec originally stated the RX200 has balance charging. Then later they backed off from that. Later some people experienced cells discharging and charging at different rates.

Just from the above, the only thing that makes any sense at all to me is if the above is all true, is originally Wismec had designed it for balance charging. But they couldn't get it working correctly when they planned to release it. So they disabled it through the software. But apparently there was a bug that would still screw up the balance of the batteries. And I think they are trying to fix it all by firmware updates.

That's more than half guessing though, nothing definite. No actual proof. I'm not saying that the rx has balance charging, simply that I've seen absolutely no proof that it doesn't. Even less so of the "mountains of failed rx200s due to usb charging".

There are plenty of online videos that shows charging by USB repeatedly, causes the battery voltages to drift further and further apart. That could only happen to married batteries if you always charge them in series without balancing, or using a very poor balance charging design.

Wismec did get balance charging correct but only in the dna200
