Getting a little anxious now, the RX200 I ordered from fasttech that's been lost at ISC Chicago for about a week has just showed up in my hometown so should receive it tomorrow. 6 new 18650's are just sitting waiting to be used. :) The other package from fasttech with the sleeve, atty, new heads etc.. arrived a few days ago and was shipped the same day the RX was. Just really hate USPS sometimes.

Enjoy it. I have a drawer full of them (6). They make great beater mods and I don't think you can beat them for the price.

The RX I ordered was delivered about an hr ago and it is really fantastic for the $34.95 I paid for it. It came with 3.0 loaded already so I didn't even need to do the firmware update. I haven't had a lot of time to use it but have used Kanthal, SS430 & Nifethal 52 and it's reading resistance dead on with everything I've tried. Set the TCR's on the device and it's vaping very similar to my other devices. Fit & finish are pretty good, (and I'm being picky here) some slight misalignment in some of the covers and some wear marks inside the battery cover where it mates to the mod so not sure how durable the paint will be but I had ordered a sleeve so that should help with that. Very pleased so far, no real con's aside from what I knew before I bought it.

With the new colors it reminded me, one of my local shops has started Cera coating. They will for a price coat any mod. They rx in display case with batman, r2d2 and spiderman etc... they said bring in any design and they will do it. Looks good on all of them I've seen. Oh and they can do your tanks to match.

I don't know about you, but $80 out of my(also other people like myself) pocket is alot of money. Best way I got practice is get some junk electrics and practice. Also there's also lot of videos on YouTube to assist you with learning to solder.

I can attest to the fact that today's electronics require specialized tools and excellent skills to mod and repair. I'm a retired electronics tech/field engineer who spent decades troubleshooting and maintaining electronic printing systems in computer rooms and print shops that sold for up to $500,000 each. I've done my share of intricate parts soldering.

I've replaced tablet screens and digitizers and repaired phones and tablets for family and friends. My soldering skills are up to the task, but you have to have the right equipment to do it and that makes a one off attempt really expensive.

My 11 year old nephew forced the connector and bent up the pins on the micro USB port on his Samsung Galaxy tablet. I ordered a micro USB connector 2 pack from Ebay and volunteered to try and replace it. I worked under a lighted headset magnifying glass with a Weller 40W soldering iron with a needle tip, solder sucker and desoldering braid, and all the tiny tools you need. I got the old USB port desoldered successfully without overheating it and installed the new one in the socket.

While I was touching up the pins, I accidentally overheated one pin and destroyed a PCB trace. That was it for that tablet that now needed a complete board replacement!

Sometimes it's cheaper at $99 to buy a new one on sale ... :grr:
