Well, I did it - I'm now the proud owner of an iTaste MVP 2.0. I like it!
I went to the B&M, told them I wanted passthru and bigger than my eGo batteries. They pulled out a VTR, and it was just too dang heavy. Felt like a brick in my hand. They had the SVD too, but since it wasn't passthru, I said no. Asked them if they had the MVP, and he pulled one out. I like the way it feels in my hand. Not too heavy, but still some heft to it. I don't feel like I'm having to double-fist it like the VTR was. It fits in the breast pocket of my jacket, so that's good. Portability was key.
It also came with 2 iClear 16 clearomizers, so I'll try those out. I was a little concerned though, I put one of my EVOD tanks on it and it wouldn't fire. MDW, is that the issue you were having? My Protank 2 went on easy and fired right away.
I have to admit, the puff counter is pretty fun![]()
I'm unimpressed with the avialability of tanks overall. Out and about is 90% of the time for me. If it's not ready to go, I won't vape. That's one of my biggest hang ups. Well, after it needs to look nice enough to pick up.
I haven't tried the Davide. I just can't picture being inspired by the aspires. I could be wrong. I've viewed videos on rebuilding them and comments weren't positive. I don't know why they'd work all that much better. The davide BDC is close to $25 from what I can tell. That's not chump change. I'd like to have some reason why they are better before getting one. When they first came out everyone said they were so great I grabbed some coils that were cheap for them but now don't have a tank for them. That feels stupid. Then I took a closer look and it's not adding up in my brain.
The hypertank I liked. I've got one more coming within the week I hope but it's VERY heavy and hard to carry. I find I'm leaving it behind. I think my shoulder is getting a permanent dent from hauling heavy mods around in my bag all the time. I go back and forth on that.
I'm frustrated enough to go back to Vision Novas. Cheap and work. I can adjust flavors to suit the tank I'm using so I don't feel I'm missing out there. It's finding the right balance and a dripper is not it for me. Just the thought of carrying an eliquid in my bag is asking for disaster to happen.
I bought parts to a protank and fiddled 5 min with it. I couldn't even put the thing together. Haven't played with it since. I'm sure I'll figure it out - eventually. But I do need ready to go. It feels like manufacturer are on this trend and they are forgetting everything else now.
I'm rambling.
Shari - did I miss seeing your new provari?
A lot of people recommend the Igo-L to start with, but with that one you have to wrap the wire ends around the posts and screw down the screw which can be difficult. I got the Trident Clone which is a dual coil setup and has multiple air hole options, you can use just one coil with no problem you just move the air hold near the coil, with the other dual coil RDA's you also have to plug one of the holes to use just one or you get too much air, they say put a piece of metal tape over it. The trident has slots you put the wires in and tighten the screws, it's pretty easy compared to wrapping it around the post. One thing about the tridents is they are hard to get apart at first, way way tight.
All that said I really like mine now that I am getting used to it. Oh and if you get any of them wash before using or it will taste nasty, I washed all of mine, pulled out the wicks that were in it and made new ones from organic cotton, I did use the coils that were in it for a couple of weeks though, just pulled them out last night and replaced with a single micro coil.
I really appreciate the offer but I'm not ready to deal with that kind of a crowd and with PBusardo I'm sure there will be even more than the 380 they had last time. I don't do crowds well at all.
NR~R~NR keeps the heat on your coil not elsewhere in the atomizer - and sometimes that counts (not in the Russian 91% or kayfuns and others) but in the rba / rda that have the wire run along and in a ceramic - causes brittleness in the ceramic and could melt insulators at the post - which is inserted in the bottom of the ceramic cup.
Thank you for explaining that. It does help. Now let's see if I can apply it.
From what you are saying there, then I should be using that type of wire for my Evod and Protank head coils. The wire has to be touching the rubber type insulator in the bottom, so the legs should be NR. Am I understanding that right? That is not what the guy who taught me was using last night, he was using just a regular piece of 30 gauge wire. Or am I over thinking again.
Jman, did you write the words? Love it!
I'm not sure if you're serious, but is is alt lyrics to "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Stones.
I just changed it to fit vape stuff. It's like the 25th song I've done that to. My blog here has 3 or 4 of them, but I got plenty more on the interwebs.
Why is NR-R-NR wire good? Why not use the roll of 28, 30, 32 gauge kanthal? What is the difference?
I am confused. I seem to be spending a lot of time in that state lately...
