After smoking for over 40 years and failing at every other method of quitting, I decided to give vaping a shot. I budgeted 2 week's smoking costs for a reasonable setup to try it and it worked after day 1. From there, I forgot all about the cost. Number 1 objective was to make this work whatever the cost. I didn't go crazy, but if I saw something that would make it easier or possibly better, so be it no matter the cost (within reason). I got multiple larger tanks for less frequent fillings and ease of changing flavors. I went for longer lasting batteries so I wasn't continually charging some. There was a cost, but by golly, it was working!
Then somebody started a thread about it being more expensive then smoking. So I went back and did some quick addition and found that I was still a bit short of what I would have spent for smokes. Then I figured out how to add a ticker to my signature and started using that as my vaping budget. As long as I was staying within sight of what it said I saved, I was fine with that. That allowed me to continue trying some new gear and searching for at least 6 flavors I really liked.
And now, at the end of 9 months, I have the gear I should be good with and at least 6 really good juices as well as a number of so-so juices I can slowly get through. I am at or below what I would have spent on smokes and most important, I am smoke free for those 9 months and that was my one and only original goal. I've got absolutely nothing to feel bad about and feel great........what more could I ask for?

But the good news is I am finally finding what works for me as far as my set up and tanks, so I anticipate spending much less going forward.
