I would contact them, hopefully they will replace the screws. I talked to the guys at the shop where I bought mine and they didn't have any issues with the one they set up for testing. But, they have only used 24 and 26g and I have only used 26. I took mine apart earlier and looked at the screw heads and there is a gap so it should work with 28 and 30 no problem, cause they are really tight right now. I am thinking about buying a second one so let me know how the screw issue works out. As for filing down the screws that will just make them shorter. All the threads on all the parts of mine were pretty rough at first so I took a tooth brush to everything when I cleaned it, could be metal shavings.

I have always customized my tanks. Most people have. These are sub $40 tanks. I'll drill the thing senseless without batting an eye. Hell I was drilling genesis attys close to 5 years ago when you could only get them in group buys from Greece / Germany. Same with the tank sections. I have enough pyrex, quartz, glass etc to last me another 5 years. The silverplay is for the deck, period. I own a custom kayfun but would never use one "out of the box". For me vaping is and always has been about customization. The goblin looks like a great piece of hardware, but if I can't change it the way I want it (meaning the small deck) I'll have to pass

I would find it hard to pass up an atty that is probably in the top 5 all around to date !, and a price tag that says I'm yours for chump change...
You'll never know what your missing. :vapor:

I guess I could design and machine a new deck for it. One that would let me use 3mm 24g. I would have to increase the base to 23mm without reducing the chimney. If you can accomplish this build without modifying it, I'll buy it. Im thinking it would be similar to the design I sold to CKS

Just got one of these recently, loving it. Build deck is a bit compact so I have 2mm coils, 26 AWG. 8 wraps, just under 0.4Ohm. Clouds of vapor at 36W :vapor:

I am using it on a IPV2 50 watt box, and it works well on this device with the VV/VW. I rebuilt it, because of the hot lip I was getting using 24g. My throat was sore the day after vaping it, so it was obviously too hot for me. I did 26g this time, 6/7 wrap on a 3mm drill bit, .5 ohms, and it seems to be much better so far. So to sum it up, yes 24g works, but I would personally recommend 26g now. (you guys can start the "I told you so" talk now.)

Something else I feel I should note about the goblin.. this thing wicks so well, that if you don't do a burn-off after getting your wick wet for the first time, it will stay wet forever. It was forever spitting juice into my mouth, so I trimmed the wick down, rebuilt it, and same thing.. so I took it apart again, fired it off until it wasn't wet anymore, put it back together, and it was good after that.

Is this for all the posts or just some of them?
Is there even enough deck space to go with a 24g build at 0.3 ohm/8 wraps?

Go back a couple pages, I posted pics with 24g at .3 ohms. It hits good, but also a little on the hot side.

Edit: The one I got from triangle-vapes does just fine with 26g. No issues thus far.

I have been trying multiple builds on this thing just to experiment and try and find what I think is best, and I think the best possible build for the Goblin, given the small deck is 6/7 wrap 26g on a 2.7mm drill bit at .4 ohms (for a VV/VW mod at least). Anything larger ends up choking off a bit of your airflow. Minimal wick is also best for the same reason. I just realized after this last go at it that I hadn't been getting the full air flow until just now. Too much wick or too much coil, and you end up mashing into the chimney and cutting off your air. SO... if you like a nice airy draw (which is probably why you want the Goblin in the first place) just keep in mind that less is more when it comes to building it.

Ah, great advice!

Got mine in the mail today from EVcigarettes and was trying to find a build for it, went to grab the chimney and it was gone. I think the cat snatched it when i wasn't looking. Wonder if UD would send me a replacement? I'll probably find it in an old shoe next time I move.
Serial # 520

Hope there are extra screw in the bag, the heads are going fast, be genital with them.

i am always genital with my screws

Got mine today, very nice quality all around. Much better machining than my silverplay. I wont pick a clear winner between the 2 for a little while, but so far the goblin is ahead.
The only gripe I have is: Holy tiny build deck batman!!!!
especially since I favor 24 ga wire. I got an 8 wrap, 2 mm, .28 ohm build on there (my standard build on just about everything) but it was quite the challenge to get everything in place without having a short. In fact, I had it built fine, wicked & filled it only for it to develop a short after a few min. I'm glad I run all my new builds on a regulated mod for a while. Took it apart and fixed the issue with minimal liquid loss though so that was nice.
not leaked a drop since I put it together either, very happy with that. So far I have found the silverplay a little seepy, though it could be my wicking. Also much more compact than silverplay.
very happy with the goblin so far.
