Honestly doof, I never watched a single video on building the goblin. I saw those wide juice channels and took advantage of them. Believe it or not I tried widening my kayfun3 channels the same way ages ago. I matched the drill bit I was going to use with the channels roughly(before I got a jig) so the amount of cotton within the I.D. of my coil would roughly equal the width of the liquid channels. Not over or under stuff them. Allow air exchange and the direct contact forces wicking. Turns out to be a 2.5mm coil. (Might be 2mm though)

I soak then thread/stuff the cotton all the way down the channels with something pointy. Thread the chimney on. If done correctly, not over stuffed then the chimney shouldn't grab anything when screwing on. Trim the excess out the bottom and enjoy. I use 50/50.

Thx Eddie - interesting.

Trevor's wicking is spoken of here as the goto technique and he puts minimal wick just in the top of the channels. I've just watched busardo's vid and he puts loads in the channels and praises up the goblin leaflet which recommends "cramming" the channels.

I'll rewick tomorrow putting loads more cotton in the channels. I prefer an occasional dry hit to major leakage and flooding. I wonder if Trevor was using high VG?

I my opinion, that clone looks horrible. The Youde version of this tank has an actual adjustable 510 pin and it looks as though the airholes in the Youde are bigger.

Were you looking at the Cthulhu RTA?

It has an adjustable 510, same as goblin. The holes on the deck are 3mm, same as the goblin.

I just wonder about the build quality, if I hear its better than the goblin, I will probably get one, as a top fill goblin would be great for me.

Yes I am talking about the Cthulhu. The pin is not the same as the Goblin's. I can almost guarantee just by looking at the Cthulhu, if you loosen the pin, the positive post will loosen as well. The Goblin is a true adjustable pin. When I stated the airflow looks smaller, I was referring to the outside of the base, not the deck (or desk as they like to spell it). Again, it's my personal opinion that it looks like hell compared to a tank that is already priced cheap enough as it is.

Is the cthu available anywhere yet and at what price? Looks interesting.

As for build quality... the goblin's is nothing to write home about :)

My wicking runs out the bottom after I screw the chimney on. I trim that excess as tight as I can with my scissors. Like I said I'm pretty sure I'm using 2.5mm coils. If I were using high VG I'd probably go with 2mm IF IF I was having wicking issues with the 2.5mm coil. Less cotton letting the air exchange occur.

One thing I'll tell you is you don't have to be concerned with flooding....

If it were meant to work like a Kayfun it would have tiny little channels. Look at the Goliath. The channels are even shorter and just as wide.

Yes. Going by the diagram, the 510 pin holds the pos post in place. I wonder where they get their assertion that the 510 is adjustable; it certainly doesn't look like it.

Gotcha, was just checking. Haha, I had to zoom in on the diagram, was looking at it on my phone and saw the little screw next to the words adjustable copper pin, and thought it was the same setup as the goblin. Now I see that's just the refill screw, my bad. Yeah, you're right that will definitely loosen the positive posts. I can see why some would consider that a con, I guess I will if it doesn't protrude very far. If it protrudes far enough for a hybrid top cap mech then I won't worry about it.

I'll still probably pick one up if the build quality seems good. The goblin is not bad for the price by no means, but still leaves a bit to be desired. I'm sure this will too if its priced in the same area.

Definitely going to have to wait for a couple reviews on it first.

Yay :) I've been fighting flooding and major/minor leaks since day one but have been too much of a noob to try anything different.

Tomorrow I'll try something diffferent.

If you can be bothered, have a look at trevor's wicking - he puts a few strands of cotton into the channels for a couple of mm.

It is available, I paid $40 US through paypal, and have a tracking number. First time I dealt directly with a small manufacturer halfway round the world, through translation software. Kinda blown away by the process.

I picked one up yesterday,I stepped up from a subtank. So far I'm kinda disappointed, I made 2mm coils using 26g wire and japanEse cotton. I have tried 2 different wick setups, the first was too tight so I quickly got dry hits, very little flavor and more vapor compared to the subtank but not much. Then I redid it with less cotton, still lacks flavor and I have to take it easy since it doesn't have much wick. There just is to any room and my dexterity sucks so I have a really hard time with this. What video is it that I should watch? I don't know who this Trevor guy is.

I bought double strength reading glasses, and have just bought high quality scissors for wick trimming, just to work on the Goblin. :)

yes this video, but if your using 70 vg+ juices don't have any wick in channel. and to do that when you put the barrel on just before you start screwing it down. take you smallest flat head screwdriver and push the wick up out of the juice channels. you want the wick to be butted up to the channel just not in it.
