Is there any operational difference between the split-wick technique and feathering the wick where you trim from the coil to the tip at an angle? It's interesting for sure, but it seems to achieve nearly the same with way more effort. Of course, most of us like to tinker and find enjoyment in taking our time to get the builds just right, so it's about even in the end.![]()
I've found with my Orchids the feathering technique (Bow Tie) works best, split-wick with my Fogger and Aqua V2. But one thing I've learned is that effective wicking techniques are completely dependent on the viscosity of the juice you use and the device. In other words, what works for high PG liquid in one device might not work for high VG liquid in the same device..
