Hey guys, I'm having some serious flavour problems and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

I got my Goblin (v1.2) about a month ago, and my second build had amazing flavour, exactly what I'd expect from a dual coil tank, but every build since then has been flat and flavourless and I can't figure out why.

I've tried everything, .2 with 22 guage, .7 with twisted 28 guage, and most things in between, tried 3 different kinds of cotton and various amounts of cotton in the juice channels and on the deck, it just won't taste of anything, and this was confirmed by a friend who said it tastes of nothing and my girlfriend who says my clouds don't smell of anything when they usually do, I just can't figure it out!

Mines doing good on the flavour - Well previous juice the current juice was just a quick DIY i whipped up and started using straight away.
Waiting for some others to be ready - juice usage in this took me by surprise so had to make a quick one.
26g 2.5mm 7.5w
Im using KGD and pulling off the two outer layers. Cut the ends to the deck and pushed the ends down then cut the shoulders on an angle to thin them out.
The wick ends just go into the channels just a bit but when you put on the chamber you can see them just in the channels- Don't know how the videos of the channels filled with wick are working as it didn't like that.
If you haven't done so you could play around with the air slots and wattage.

i've been thinking of picking up a goblin, but i got a couple question.
1. what the difference between the v1.1 and v1.2?
2. how well does it handle high to 100% vg juices?
3. what the current preferred method of wicking? as in is it better to stuff into the channels then put on the chimney on or bunny ear the wick then stuff it down after the low chimney is on? (does it just depend on the pg/vg ratio) ( yes i'll be using cotton, cotton bacon to be precise.)

1 - as far as I can tell there is no difference. Different vendors are calling it different things. Some even call it v2.
2 - wicked properly, it handles high VG juices like a champ.
3 - there are a few different methods, but everyone here can agree that LESS IS MORE when it comes to the wick. I only put about 2mm of wick into the channels, and it doesn't leak or dry hit on me. Too much wick will cut off air flow, and too little has a chance of leaking. Gotta find a good balance, but once you do it's easy to replicate the results. I tuck before the lower chimney is on, and clean up around the coils after it is on. I always put the chimney on and test the airflow before wetting/assembling/filling. Learned that the hard way.

If you are considering picking one up, I would say do it. My drippers hate me right now. Haven't given them attention in a month.

Someone might have already mentioned this but ...

Anyone else notice on their Goblin that the air flow control holes don't line up completely? When I set the afk ring on one side to a position, the hole on the other side is a few mms off compared to the side I adjusted. Halfway on one side is nearly 2/3rds the other.

I'm having flavor problems with the goblin, very muted flavor or even a weird metallic taste. I cleaned this thing really good with boiling water and isopropyl so I'm not sure what's causing the metal flavor, coils too close to chimney? No way to avoid that with this thing lol. Wicking is perfect, vapor is impressive, but for flavor it's sooooo far behind my subtank, a little disappointment in that regard. Also I hear the goblin insulator is a repeat of the subtank, melting in peoples juice, and from what I can see there are no upgrades for it yet.
The insulator can melt from the heat, but it's not sitting in juice, so it's not really the same thing. Tank setup is completely different.

ok thanks i decided to pick one up from MBV and got some juice while i was at it.

i really wish that someone would come up with a new way to keep the negative and positive separated or use a better material that can handle more heat.( goes for most devices). its huge safety issues to me. i also find it funny that so many people are concerned about chemicals in there juice but dont worry about inhaling plastic from the insulators.
Something like Celazole PBI which is plastic that can handle almost twice as much heat which is around 205°C as Delrin/Acetal maxes out around 120°C.
ceramic would be a good choice too. if i was still in school i would mold my own and throw it in the kiln.

On the leaking fill screw, just about anything from an o-ring, to teflon tape, to wrapping the dang thing in cotton can fix the leak.( I know, I did it. Cotton worked great.)

On the naming, Youde calls it the v1.2, so that's likely the proper naming convention.

On Youde's facebook page, one tech said, "some guys are calling it v 1.2," so that seems to have stuck with the majority of folks.
Of course that makes no sense, because then there never was a v 1.1
Either way, I need to try some cotton or teflon tape around the fill screw of my one that came with two chimney and tank sizes and better deck screws...

I put a little...and I mean little dab of clear silicone caulk around the top of the screw head.

Just enough silicone to smear around the bottom portion of the top of the screw using a Q-tip.

Let it dry overnight if you try it.........no leaks in a few days now.

No need to tighten the screw much, the silicone seals it from leaking when its just snug.

so after much searching i found out the difference between v1.1 and v1.2:

when the goblin first released for reviewers aka before available to the public the extensions (longer glass and chimney) wasn't included at that moment in time. so it was just called goblin. once it was released to the public of course there were still some overstock of the goblin without the extensions and they started selling the goblin with the extension. this is where the v1.1 and v1.2 came into play. the v1.2 simply is to mean that it comes with extension as well and the v1.1 does not.

but im sure vendor are still labeling however they want(aka mislabeling), but at least we now know how it should be labeled.

I bought two Orchid Clones (one Tobeco, the other Infinite) and have used them religiously over the past months. I bought a Lemo Drop when it released, gave it away within the week. I received two Goblin V1.2's from Eciggity and it's by far my favorite RTA to date. Sure, I haven't had them too long but it's been a solid piece so far.The air flow is exceptional. The build deck is easy as pie. The screws... thank god someone figured out small screws that aren't those dumb allen screws that strip after a week. The juice channels are perfect... never a dry hit even with the heaviest VG. The two different tank capacity options are well thought out, too. I couldn't be happier about my purchases. It produces way better flavor and vapor production than any other RTA I've ever used. My hat goes off to Youde for being the first company to design a superior chimney on these RTA's at an ideal price. They fit all my drip tips (Orchid clones did not). Not to mention, they look sleek as hell. Truly, a sharp looking atty. Better lookin' than the next innovation from Youde, The Goliath, in my opinion. Either way, what's important is that I wouldn't have found out about these awesome atty's without the vape community & ECF. Thanks guys!

So I love this device don't get me wrong but I can't seem to get the flavor to a point that I'm happy with...I know that its possible but seems I'm missing something small or I don't know what I'm running dual 26g 8 wraps each about .55...if anyone has any builds they have been wowed by the flavor I'd love to hear it![emoji120]
