So I had another Ego battery die on me. It's now permanently "on." The LED flickers and won't turn off.

Sigh... I'm kind of tired of spending money on Ego batteries so I'm looking for an all-day-mod. I have a Sabre VV, but the battery life kind of sucks and it's big and heavy.

I'm thinking of getting a Silver Bullet (or maybe a BB), but maybe someone can persuade me to buy something else.

What do you guys use? The Reo seems really popular, and I do want a box mod... but they just aren't very inconspicuous... I also don't really get the feeder system. Can you only use 510 atties? How does the juice reach the atomizer?

Ooh a chance to cheer for the Reo! It is considerably smaller than you would expect, and the Mini even more so (I can conceal it in the palm of my hand). The way it works is there's a brass tube in the battery connector to which a rubber hose is attached then goes into the bottle. So when you "squonk" the juice travels up to the the atomizer from the bottom instead of the top, hence the name "bottom feeder". The reason why everyone raves about the Reo is because it's incredibly well constructed, it's mechanical so there isn't much that can break or shortwire, it's all you really need during the day, no refilling, no swapping batteries, it can take atomizers (510 or 901 with an adapter) or cartomizers, or tanks or whatever else you want to stick on there.

Other honorable mentions:
Maxi Roughstack from MadVapes.com - at $45 it's a fantastic tube mod and surprisingly small. 1x 18650 for 3.7 or two RCR123 for 6V, easy to fix if anything goes wrong.
AltSmoke Alpha - I looove this device, the push down activation is brilliant and makes it a lot of fun to use

ProVari here. Of course, it's the only mod I have, but when I was setting out to buy my first mod I decided I might as well go for what I considered to be the best and that addressed all of my wants and needs -- and that it does with flying colours. Got the regular satin finish model, as I figured the chrome would be a fingerprint magnet and scuff enough over time that the finish would start looking crappy. The satin is still gorgeous and provides a good grip besides.

Hmmm yeah I get that the bottle has a tube and all that, but how does that tube connect to the atomizer? Does it go up through the small hole on the bottom? How does that not restrict airflow?

Like most bottom feeders, the hose connects to a nipple on the inside which has a blunt needle-type protrusion that fits through the battery connector right into the atomizer so when you squirt juice it lands right on the wick and coil. Air comes from slots around the sides of the atomizer so blocking the center hole does not impede air flow.

This is a DIY build from ECF member hotone - it's not quite the same as the Reo (no offense hotone :) ) but the idea of the feeder is the same. The atomizer has vent holes on the sides for airflow.

For me, 1st mod was the Maxi Roughstack. Added a 510-510 extender on it. Great tool. Vapes all day (just using trustfire 18650). Didn't have a problem with it (leaky atty aside).

Stepped up to the Buzz Pro. Loving this thing. Regulated voltage, consistent vape. Battery life leaves some to be desired. But I've got some AW 16340's on the way, I'll see how that goes. The Ultrafires are labeled 880 mAh, but are apparently around 400mAh.

All in all, at this moment, I'd go with the Buzz Pro. I really like the regulated voltage (with LR atty's, I'm around 3.8V, with a 3ohm atty I was around 4.7V).

Might I suggest the GLV3 if you're hard up for a bottom feeder at HV? I'd like to give it a go. But with the BP, I think I'm set for a few more months before I seriously look at GLV's. The thing I read about the GLV is that it's regulated power as well. No matter what you put on it, it will give you 11W.
