online lung cancer risk calculators

Hi,
I wonder how reliable calculators like this are:
National Lung Screening Trial

I smoked for 5 years in my 20s and quit. The tool doesn't even accept pack years less than 10, but even if I smoked 10 pack years, if I was 80 years old, my lung cancer risk in the next 5 years is only 0.3%. That seems pretty low.

What do you guys think?

Geekvape aegis boost pro is new model of very popular pod mod. This version is different than previous and this one is improved. Package is pretty much good, you will receive spare parts, two drip tips and two coils. I received this device in special package, I am not sure that you will be able to buy this package. For this device you can buy rdta base, also you can buy 510 adapter which is really good. This device as previous one is really well made, build quality is very good and this device is waterproof , dustproof and shockproof which is really good.

Cartridge:

Cartridge is not the same as previous one. This cartridge looks different and it use different coils. Good thing is that you can use cartridge from the previous boost here. From the top side of the cartridge you can see the drip tip and this drip tip is pretty much comfortable for using, in the package you will receive another drip tip here which is really good. This device is compatible with 810 drip tips but with o rings. From the top side of the cartridge you can also see fill hole, so this is a top fill device which is really nice. When you take off the plug you can see the fill hole and you can really easy fill the tank here. Capacity of the cartridge is 6ml which is really good in my opinion. From the bottom of the cartridge you can see the piece that you need to press to take off the cartridge. The cartridge stays really nice in the place. From the front of the cartridge you can see the airflow control piece and you can really easy adjust the airflow here. From the bottom of the cartridge you can replace the coils. With this device you will receive two coils, you will receive 0.2ohm mesh coil, recommended power for this coil is 60-70w and you will receive 0.4ohm mesh coil, recommended power for this coils is 50-60w.

Mod:

From the top side of the mod you can see the slot for cartridge. Design of the device is pretty much same as on previous version and I really like that design. From the bottom side of the mod you can see the battery cap and this device is powered by 1 18650 battery, there is no any rattling when battery is inside the mod. This device has usb type c which is really nice. This device works up to 100w, I don't know why they put 100w because this device works with 18650 battery. From the front side of the device you can see the fire button, screen, plus and minus buttons. Plus and minus buttons are good and everything works without any problems. The screen here is very nice, we have color screen here. You can turn on the device when you click 5 times on the fire button, you need to do the same to turn it off. When you turn it on on the screen you can see:

- Battery indicator
- Power
- W
- Ohm
- A
- V
- C

When you click 3 times on the fire button you can change working mode:

- Power
- Tc ss
- Tc tcr
- Vpc
- Bypass

You can also here change the brightness of the screen when you hold fire button and plus or minus buttons. When you hold plus and minus buttons you will lock both.

My thoughts:

So aegis boost pro comes in the package where you will receive two drip tips and two coils which is really good. Build quality of the device is really good and this device is dustproof, waterproof and shockproof. Drip tip that comes pre installed is comfortable for using. We have top fill system here which is really good. Capacity of the pod is 6ml which is really good capacity. Also we have airflow adjustment here which is great. This mod is powered by one 18650 battery which I really like and this device has usb type c. Buttons are good and so far I didn't have any problems. We have color screen here and it looks really beautiful in my opinion. This device is compatible with cartridges from previous version. Also this device has 510 adapter so you can use here any atomizer without problems. If you want for this device you can buy rdta base which is really good. Device works really good, so far didn't have any problems with this device. Coils that comes in the package are really good and flavor with new coils is really amazing. I tried here also atomizers and I didn't have any problem with 510 connection. Building on rdta base is really simple and easy, wicking is also pretty much simple. Rdta base works really good, you can choose different airflow here, you can use only bottom airflow or you can use bottom and side airflow. I really like to use bottom airflow here because it is tighter and flavor is amazing. Basically if you want you can adjust airflow from sides to get more airflow which is really nice. You can buy this rdta base for this device and you won't make mistake. In my opinion this is best aegis pod so far and it has everything that you could need, I can suggest you this one.

Cons:

- New cartridge is not compatible with 810 drip tips

Pros:

- Good build quality
- Two drip tips
- Two coils
- Rdta base
- 510 adapter
- Comfortable drip tip
- Top fill
- 6ml capacity
- Really good flavor
- Dustproof, shockproof, waterproof
- Color screen
- Good fire button
- 18650 battery
- Usb c

Shelf life of PG and VG

I'm not worried about long term storage of nicotine in glass bottles in the freezer since just about everywhere I read it states easily 10 years. However, attempting to find the same info for PG and VG is giving me mixed results. Any info I can find is years old and I've read that VG can be stored anywhere between 1 - 2 years and PG from 2 - 3 years. Anyone have more current info or actual experience? Time to stock up for the long haul although I realize I'll eventually have to get the PG and VG elsewhere. I figure if I can stock up on nicotine and hardware for the next 12 years, I should be in pretty good shape. It's going to take a lot of coils though.

Going to be placing a large order for DIY juice

I was wanting to hear opinions on best place to buy flavoring. I know flavor is subjective but I mainly prefer fruity flavors. I was going to by the sour additives, sweetners, and tart additives as well. Obviously going to buy VG and PG as well. I have a little nicotine that I bought from rx vape that I like and thought it was high quality but if you have a brand you feel is better wouldn’t mind buying it. Basically looking for the highest quality and I am not so worried about price unless it is ridiculously high. Forgot to mention I am strictly freebase no salts. What I’ve Ben doing is buying 0mg juice at local store for extremely cheap from clearance rack but ready to start making my own. Very avid reader of this site and have learned a lot. First time posting but look forward to your input.

Stored nicotine liquid in plastic containers

I've heard that nicotine reacts with plastic. I have several 50mg bottles of nic that arrived in plastic containers. They have been in my refrigerator for about 3 years now. I should have transferred the liquid to glass bottles, but I didn't. Should I dump this liquid and purchase new stock, or is this liquid okay to use?

Ajax tank, isub coils?

So I have an Ajax tank. I feel very limited by the two coils that are dedicated to that tank It's like a 0.16 and maybe a 0.3 something. I really prefer like 0.5. I've seen a couple reviews and saw a few people riding that the iSub coils can be used in the Ajax tank because it is an iSub tank just a more modern one. But I don't want to go buy a bunch of iSub coils that don't work they definitely look like they fit I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with actually using them

I started with...

Janty beginner kit, with dripping 510 atomizers, Clouds of Vapor and Mrs. T's e-liquids.

Later, Joyetech VV eGo's and Kanger T3's seemed incredible, and Copper Creek, Backwoods Brew and Heathers Heavenly Vapes were considered upgrades.

So... what do you remember starting your vaping journey ?

Rincoe Jellybox Mini

DSC_3807.JPG

Sourcemore has given me this Rincoe Jellybox Mini to review. First, let me say I was allowed to select this item, which caught my eye because it looked nice and I was not at all familiar with the product. My expectations, I think, were reasonable: it’s an inexpensive mod, I wouldn’t say cheap, but surely not pricey, and I expected a fairly well put together item, that gave a reasonable, probably not mind-blowing vape. I didn’t even give a second thought to the TC function, assuming it would be completely underwhelming.

This was my reaction after setting it up and vaping on it: You gotta get one. Just go. Now. Don’t even read this review, time’s a-wastin’.

Details:

Single battery, 18650, 20700, or 21700

1-80 Watts

Coil resistance:

.08-5.0 ohms VW mode

.05-3.5 ohms TC mode (NI/TI/SS)

200-600F in TC mode

.96 inch display

Comes in Amber clear, Black clear, and Full clear

Available at Sourcemore for just under $40

Out of the box, I note that all the surfaces are finished flawlessly, no rough spots, no weird gaps, all the parts fit together as well as on any high-dollar mod. The brushed stainless steel looks very classy. The design is clean and contemporary, everything is proportionate.

The screen is bright and easy to read, and the fire button is a nice size, firm and clicky but not a loud clicky. The Up and Down buttons are far enough away from the fire button that I don’t touch them accidentally. The wattage or temperature controls are easily locked/unlocked by pressing the Up/Down buttons at the same time.

c2.jpg

The battery door slides open. It’s not too loose, not too stiff. I really have a pet peeve with sliding doors that either will not open easily to take batteries out, or will not stay closed when there are no batteries in. I have mods that I never use because their sliders bother me that much. Not this guy. Very well behaved. Also, the door is clearly marked with negative sign.
And speaking of batteries, this mod comes with an adapter, and can accommodate one 18650, 20700, or 21700. I love having these options.

I never thought I’d see the day when I could gush over a mod manual, but here I go! This is a thing of beauty. It’s large enough to read! And not only that, it makes sense!

I’m not even going to bother typing any of that out, because they have done a stunning job of clearly explaining how everything works.

Okay, a little about how it works…

In VW mode, the Up/Down buttons adjust the wattage in 1 watt increments, and it does round robin. I personally don’t have an issue with not having half or 1/10th watt increments, but it could be a turn-off for some.
In TC its default setting is C, but it adjusts round Robin like the wattage, and when it gets to the highest setting in C it starts over from the bottom in F.

You do need to be in VW to turn on/off the LED – which lights up behind the board in kind of a slow pulse. I don’t notice any change in the vape using the LED in VW, but there is a significant sag in TC – I’m using it in SS mode. It’s a fun little novelty, but you can’t really see it when you vape, and it’ll surely eat some battery life. Maybe not much, but some. The LED will match whatever color scheme you select for your screen, and the screen will be that color with the LED on or off. Of course I checked, I like novelties. Your color options are white, red, blue, green, yellow, and purple.

The TC can be used with Ni. Ti, and SS. It’s very basic – there is no curve, or boost or any of those fancy things. You can adjust the heat and lock your resistance, and that’s all. But it vapes great, at least in SS. It reminds me of my DNAs’ Replay feature, same hit every time. And the simplicity will be a con for some, but a definite plus for others.

So I’ve been vaping this mod for a few days,, and I really enjoy it. It’s lightweight but solid, The battery life is good – I’ve tried it in VW and TC, and I am only draining the battery a bit less than halfway per day. As expected. The LED adds quite a bit of drain. Probably about 30%.

The screen is crisp and clear, easy to read in any color, in any lighting conditions.

The mod is great in the hand, no problems at all with that battery door. No rattles, no accidentally opening.

So what are my thoughts?

First, cons, although these may not be cons to everyone.

The top is limited to a 25mm atty, unless you don’t mind overhang. There’s no obstruction, so you could go as large as you like, it just wont sit flush with the top of the mod.

The TC is basic. No frills. So the downside is, you’re not going to have any adjustments you can make. That’s also kind of beautiful for those who are TC curious, but a little intimidated by the whole new language they’ll have to learn in order to program a good vape. Try TC without the rocket science.

The LED is fun, but it really diverts power away from the vape in TC mode. Not sure why that's not the case (or at least not enough that I could notice) in VW. And I did not test with Ni or Ti as I don't use those.

It’s clear, so your battery is going to show. You might want to spring for some fancy wraps so your batteries are going around looking tatty and sad.

The pros:

Looks great

Well built

Great in the hand

choice of battery sizes

Great battery life

Easy menu

Best user manual ever - is there an award for this?

TC for anyone, no experience required.

Price – this is a lot of mod for the money

Bottom line, highly recommend. I’d like to see more colors of Jellybox mini – I think it would look great in smokey topaz, fog gray, and some neon colors too. Fuscia, lime, teal. I’d want to collect them all!

Get the Rincoe Jellybox Mini from Sourcemore for only $25.89 with code JM80M!

Thanks, Lilia and Sourcemore for the opportunity to test drive and review this fabulous little mod!

Is there a genuine EHPRO True upgrade?

Hey Guys,

You bunch helped me a lot when I replaced my leaky, juice guzzling Siren 2 with an EHPRO True. You weren't wrong when many of you recommended the True and I have since added a second one which I rotate throughout the day with tobacco-ish juice in one and fruit-ish juice in the other. I mix my own juice using flavour shots from Chef's Flavours in the UK, 35pg/65vg at 7ml nic is my sweet spot.

I found that the 3mm coils I was familiar with resulted in having to trim down the cotton to fit the juice slots, so 2.5mm, 7 turn, 28 Kanthal simple DIY wire coils work a treat with no dry hits or flooding issues. 6 watts is enough to give me a nice flavour and no hassle from excessive clouds (she-who-must-be-obeyed must be obeyed, obviously ;) ).

However, I see all these shiny things and their rave reviews, and can't help wondering if the tech might have moved on? Am I missing out on something, or is the True up there still? I do get some slight seepage from under the tank, guessing the press fit construction loosens up a little over time, and so a design with a solid base might be an improvement.

Bench Test Results: Tesla Model 3 21700...good performer but they’re salvaged cells

These tests below only note the ESTIMATED ratings for these batteries at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of personal injury or property damage. They are not meant to be used outside of a physically and electrically protected battery pack. Never exceed the battery’s current rating and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Use of any of these batteries is AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never, ever, be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Test Results
This cell is available with a lot of different battery wraps and top contacts, all salvaged from Tesla Model 3 vehicles. While the ones I tested were good performers there is no way to know the condition of any of the cells you buy and you use them at your own risk.

Here’s how BigBattery prepares the cells: Login to view embedded media
This cell has recessed top contact that Tesla welds a cell-level fuse wire onto when they are used in a Tesla vehicle (see photos above). The companies that salvage these cells weld standard top contacts onto them and wrap them in various color wraps with different printing and ratings on them.

There has been concern that this recessed top contact could mean that these cells do not have the Current Interrupt Device (CID) that is in every cell made by the large manufacturers and hopefully every round cell we use. The CID is an important safety feature that shuts down the cell like a one-time circuit breaker if there is too much gas pressure building up inside due to misuse or mishandling. This can help keep the cell from bursting.

I took apart one of the cells I had and there appears to be a structure in the top contact structure of the cell (see the red arrows in the photos) that acts as a CID. But I cannot say for sure and I cannot guarantee that this cell will try to shut down if used too hard.

The cells I tested also have three tiny “stripes” in the bottom center that every Tesla Model 3 cell has and, AFAIK, no other cell has. I believe these marks are from the internal spot-welding of the tab of metal carrying current to the metal can from the spiral roll of materials inside the cell.

These Tesla cells equaled the performance of the Samsung 50E2/50E3 and Vapcell G50 (Samsung 50G rewrap). They performed a little better than the Molicel M50A and a lot better than the Samsung 50E and LG M50T.

The six cells I tested delivered from 4796mAh to 4888mAh and had a DC internal resistance ranging from 20.4mOhm to 22.9mOhm. This is not great consistency but these cells came from three different packs and their prior EV use (if any), storage time and conditions, and the quality of the top contact welding can affect their performance.

I estimate that these cells have a continuous current rating of about 10A to ensure decent cycle life and I rate them at 4800mAh. Like all of the ultra-high capacity 21700’s I recommend staying below about 7A (continuous or pulsed) to improve performance and minimize voltage sag.

Cells were donated for testing by Skyart (Battery Building Services by Skyart the skating duck) and MrDrunkenMobster (Duck Battery Systems | Custom PEV Batteries | Battery Building Supply). Thank you!

Dicodes setup for TC or manual?

I just got a dicodes by Madbeard mods with 60watt chip.
I’m having problems finding a good tutorial or manual on settings for tempeture control.
I know how to scroll through menus but being used to dna has got me used to graphs to find steady temperatures.

If you know of any tutorials or decent manuals please post.
I like the way it vapes and seems to be much easier on batteries than my dna mods?

Lost and Found Today

Today, we traveled 3 hours to Philadelphia to see doctors and get testing for my wife's surgery on April 2nd.

I brought 4 vape kits with me for the ride and emptied one rta on the trip to Philly. I parked the car in the lot and it looked like a long walk to the entrance, so I brought one with me for the walk. As I approached the entrance I put the kit in my shoulder bag, pulled up my mask and entered the building. The vape somehow didn't come out of the building with me. So it's lost.
It was a Dead Rabbit V1 RTA on a Vapresso Gen mod. Gone.

Then when I came home, in desperation I searched the bag one more time, and found a VCT-5 battery that has been missing since May, 2020. It was in a pocket under my sunglasses. I searched high and low for that battery and am very relieved that it's not behind my desk or something waiting to catch on fire.

So finding the battery definitely relieved the pain of losing a kit.

Noone's making custom PNP/Voopoo coils?!

I'm a little late to the drop-in PNP coil game, I just got Wotofo's SMRT PNP rebuildable coil system and I LOVE IT. I've always been an oldschool rebuildable, low ohm, high watts, big hot vapor fan, and extremely skeptical of the replaceable pods because, let's be honest 5 years ago they didn't hold a candle to a plain'ol RDA that you have to spend 15 minutes building and getting just right.

Well the PNP coils have me kicking myself for not trying them sooner as they produce 95% the same amount of vapor of a *perfect* RDA build, but with 10x better warmth and flavor.

So I'm wondering why the heck other companies besides wotofo aren't upping the anty and making better PNP coils like Wotofo (the Voopoo ones are great, but Wotofo really outshines them with their rebuildable mesh-style pods). I would easily pay $20 for an Ohm Science pre-made Alien Clapton pnp pod or something a little more intense. Since you can put these PNP'S on an 80+ watt mod, there's a world of possibility for plug-n-play cloud chasing if you want, and I think there's some financial incentive for that.

Does anybody know where you can maybe buy some blank wholesale pnp shells because I might try and make my own if no one else does!

Low ohms reading coil/Tank question

GS Air coils/GS 3ml tanks.
I Googlefied this and Did see One place that said A worn out tank could make coils not last as long. (Sounds near fetched to me...)

Can an old tank start Causing premade coils to show Low ohms, like. 05 ohm?

I am pretty sure these are factory coils not FT copycats.
