It worked but it looks sloppy. The other forum software let us put the link inside brackets that enabled us to put in just the name of the link without seeing the guts.
You can always use BBcode:
[ u r l = "webaddress you want to link to" ]whatever name you want to give it[ / u r l ] Just take out the spaces.

I'm willing to put up with it. I'm so tired of wiping and wiping with a magic eraser or paper towel and the glass top cleaner to get stubborn stains off the glass top.

I'll just take the grills outside and hit 'em with the power washer. ;)

Well, it ain't the grills, itz under the grillz thatz a PITA. But still... beats electriculty! And if the power goes out, you kin still feed yersef! LOL

Yea-but ... with all the electronics isn't a modern gas stove still dependent on electricity? (or a backup generator).

Some will still work as a basic unit, but you will not have all your bells and whistles working - I would ask...

I just looked at the specs for the one Janet is 'liking'. Says - ignition is electric but would the old trusty wooden match suffice?

Yup. We got a box above the stove. :) Any idea how much fun it is to find book matches anymore? LOL

Gotta throw a thot to the match + gas stove theory. Ours just has a "sparker" (technical term) that shoots sparks until the gas lights. Power out - use match.

BUT... dunno about modern stoves (Ours is about 10 years old) If there is some sort of electronic gas control you may have a problem. Dunno. :(

No, only to light the burners and they still make matches for when the power is out. Now, you may not be able to use the oven due to electronics. Small price to pay for the convenience of gas cooking up top. Like I posted before the ideal stove has a gas top and electric oven. Electric ovens maintain temps much better and evenly than gas ovens. They do make stoves like that but, they cost a pretty penny.

Not entirely. The top burners will light with a match but not the oven
