Slippery do you have any tricks for keeping the ribbon from getting mixed around on the staple staggered fused build?
how do you mean? when you are making the wire? i tape one end with a tiny bit of masking tape, i only wrap around it once or twice then lick the ribbons to get them wet then they will stick together then stick the tape on the other end but if you wrap the last clapton by hand that fuses it all together then you can get away with taping just one end of the ribbons and working your way to the loose end.

Post a pic of one of your failiens and we can help you and let you know what to change so you can get it down right
@SLIPPY_EEL i have not tried a slentre braid yet but I've done 4 & 5 loop braids, mostly caged or side braid or split braid. And yeah I use N80 because of the softness, but I've also used N60, honestly there's not too much a difference at 32g. Kanthal on the other hand is stiff in comparison.
Tom, thanks for the offer. I have wrapped most coils known to man as Slippy knows. It's a pure feel thing. I am doing everything possibly right MINUS the feel and the patience. I will get it done. I'm thinking now that the vape probably sucks anyway. I know it wicks amazingly but how would you view the flavor and vapor?

No the flavour doesnt suck its probably the best and the clouds seem as good as anything else imo.

Something like that parallel 24g with ribbon wrapped over the top is a good flavour build, i cant think off the top of my head what size the ribbon is(i'm not nr my wires right now) but its one of the biggest i could find

Framed staple coil.
6 x .5mm-1mm k1 and 26g n80 core, 36g n80 wrap. Wrapping this was a pita, and one of the wraps deformed. Great vape. Clouds and flavor. Clocked in at 0.18 ohms

Twisted messes arrived but it was a regular one, not the black and gold so I sent it back. Might pull the plug and grab the 13 heavens atty.... I know there almost identical but I like the squared off positive block on the 13 heavens. Opinions?

The flavor is absolutely incredible. Especially from stitched aliens. The vape (single battery mech) has a long ramp time for me though with a 2 strand 26g core with 32g N60 wrap & 36g stitch, so I paralleled it with a single strand of 24g N80. Fixed the ramp time and still get incredible flavor. Normal 3 core aliens with 26/34&up barely have ramp time if at all, and the flavor is amazing. They're great coils.
And slip I lick my ribbons too to get them to stick together, also use a bit of tape at the end, and wrap a piece of scrap 40g spaced out around the middle so I can slide it down and take it off when as I move farther down the wire
@Darkly spectr is that a DNA 200 mod? If so which one? And how do you like the chip?
@Deap vertical ribbon! SSFC's are just annoying to build to me, but looks great for a first attempt. Try wrapping the ribbon vertically on your next shot at it

I have to build for a kanger subox for a buddy of my friend's today, and I have to make the coil a minimum of .3 ohms. I'm thinking 30g Twisted Clapton helix? Or 30/40 fused Clapton.
Problem is I don't have a subtank to test the build on and it has to be a minimum of .3 ohms. Any quick suggestions before I leave for the Jets season opener?
Edit: and Retro, send it back and tell TM you ordered the gold/black atty...I think it looks better than the 13/9 atty. always go with your first choice, don't pull the plug! The gold/black TM atty comes in a black box, not a navy one like the regular atty

I did this awhile ago in the subbox for a buddy. 28ka1/36n80 4 wraps 2.4mm @.3Ω

Worked out awesome, he still has it in there almost 2 months later.

A buddy of mine wanted the staged heating coil that twisted messes made, so I made some extra for myself. 28g and 36g Ni80, 28x2
fused with 36g and 2 28g spiral wire. Clocked in at .22 ohms.

Sorry for the blurry heating pic, too much caffeine today.

Spiral wire is just 2 strands twisted?
2 strands of 28 twisted as far as possible. Then flattened with toothless pliers. Throw some vg or juice you don't vape a lot of on the pliers makes flattening the spiral easier. Most important wash the hell out of it after its done. It's basically half zipper coil sort of.

im thinking of getting a couple of these Phenotype-L, who's got one, the only thing i dont like is that it looks like the airflow control takes up some of the deck space or shall i say coil space?

i might just get them anyway and take the afc off and try fit one of the chuff's i have and if its to airy i'll have to make a big fat build to warm things up :D

If someone that has one replys can you tell me if the main barrel has a ridge at the bottom that stops it from sliding all the way down (thats another hate of mine)

EDIT: Ive just been looking at that atty again but im a bit worried only having two post holes, i might not be able to get dual's in it :s

Anyway's i was also thinking of Wharfrat so i took a pic of a new alien i made, this one with A1 cores which made it much easier but even after dropping a wrap i still ended up at 0.1ohm compared to 0.08 with 4 wraps and n60 cores

They've gotten great reviews, but on almost every review at least one person comments on the ohms jumping around on an intricate/multi wire build. I know you're more of a single coil (If memory serves) vapor so I think it'd be perfect. It's got TONS of airflow just to let you know. The only person I know with one only uses it in single coil mode, but it can be closed off enough for single.

The post holes are huge the gold plated positive post and $65 usd are all pros to me.

Thanks Retro, yeah i vape singles aswell but i do prefer dual's, duals give me just that little bit more lung fill that i just cant seem to get on a single, theres only so long you can hold that fire button for before she emptys they wicks, and most attys dont allow me to up my coil id either, maybe i cud try a single between the posts with bigger id :)
