@Taowulf, on your second build if you had wrapped your coil in the other direction you'd have gained some space for some wick
It's true. But I always wrap the same direction and these coils were wrapped weeks ago before I decided what I was going to put them in. Oh, and the wicking is still great.
The only time I ever wrap in the opposite direction is when I am building 4 coils for my Rafale X using the neutral post.
Yeah I kinda hope the NSA doesn't collect wick pics from forums as well as cell phones....If the wicks keeping up all's good
You could have even popped the coils in the other side of the deck But i know what its like when you get into a habit of doing things a certain way, the force of habit takes over and you forgeti used to always wrap the same way as you and also like the same quarter of the deck.
@Tom Forde very nicei keep forgetting to wick my coils, i'm sure the op isn't gonna kickoff at us though

Can't seem to get a decent macro shot with my Nexus 5x. They are terrible.
Just wrapped dual 24g ss 316l, 10 wraps, around a 3mm bit. Velocity v2. The problem with these 2 post designs is the spacing. While it's great for fat coils. My standard 6 or 7 wrap coil feels off to install. I like them close to the post as possible and they will stretch. Otherwise you have a long leg and I swear I can taste it. So tried 10 wraps this time. It vapes alright. Will probably try 8 wraps next time. Have some twisted 26g ss 316l that I twisted a while back and just been sitting, maybe a spaced coil would work.
Maybe doing a 6 or 7 wrap parallel with the 26g would get you right on the post holes.
I have to check out some of that pre built wire. Some of these builds look nice!
Got some nice colours on this build so thought I'd post it.
N80 0.15 alien wrap on 28g ss316.
Pics are in order with the top being the first stage of heating, got some nice reds, the only editing was cropping the picsView attachment 573865 View attachment 573863 View attachment 573861
Dude - HOTWell, I don't generally send out or post wick pics. I mean unless my girl asks me to. So here's a shot of the working coils in my Petri v2

Made this last night, didn't install it yet though so I don't know what it's reading just yet. I put it up to my avocado and it looks like it would fit but this coil is seriously making me think about getting a goon. Btw that's my very first attempt messing around with corrugated cores.

And this is my current working build. Triple twisted clap 36/40 A1 helixed zipper.

Thanks brother. Let me see if I remember the specs....Very tidy build's! keep up the vgood work @Justadude
I'd take a guess at the corrugated being 0.15ohm for that one coil, not that i even know the specs on it
I kid you not, i got through 3 tanks in as many hours on the Limitless.
Thanks brother. Let me see if I remember the specs....
Core
.5mm n80 corrugated
.5mm n80 core walls
28 n80 triple spiral frames
40 gauge n80 helix/staple, 8 -9 strands total.
3/4 wraps around 3mm ID
I'll rebuild this tonight cause I want more perfection even though the 44 would sit better. In my opinion it's kind of sloppy but maybe I'm being way too hard on myself. It's my first staple build like that so what I'm mainly taking from it is experience![]()
Lmfao, alright dude I'll do it later on tonight. We're still spring cleaning our place but I'll be rebuilding this later on tonight so I'll throw it on some Atty just for kicks and fire it up. I'm hoping it's at around .2 and up but then again since it won't be going in a tank what do I care about heat flux lolHurry up then!I wanna know what it weighs in at and im gonna stick on 0.15ohms
