About 3 years back I was fond of NiFe 52 until it disappeared. When I got into using the now ubiquitous SS316L, I noticed that I had to make all electrical connections cleaner and tighter and have the mod set the resistance more accurately. The high TCR of NiFe 52 was not so finicky and not as...
Came across this at 50% off at Lightning Vapes. Any of these good ohm readers are hard to find or discontinued and I’m wary of the clones I’ve come across. Sale ends at Midnight est. I’ve been using the cheap eleaf for years and it’s getting sketchy. lol
I’m just curious what the most rugged RTAs are out there. I see people with Aegis mods breaking the glass and I was thinking they should have a tank that matches the toughness of the mod. lol I may even get one for my Aegis even though I don’t come close to beating the crap out of it. :-P
Last year when I bought an Aegis mod and went 26650 battery shopping I was puzzled that none of them are sold by real battery manufacturers such as Sony or LG, but I assume are all rewraps. On researching this I came up with nothing. I got a deal on a pair of MXJOs so I went with them and they...
I was a bit hasty in my earlier evaluation of this mod’s Temperature Control mode operation. Being in a technical field that deals with precision, I had to come back with a re-evaluation after further use and note taking.
Current firmware is v1.05 SPCBAT18. File release Polar_20180802.zip. I...
So I came across the Augvape Intake RTA and after studying the insides I decided I had to try one. It was a project Mike of MikeVapes came up with. A very unique configuration channeling the airflow from the top via a pair of tubes to under the coil instead of to the sides like all the top...
When I’m on the go this Anker 2 2.4 amp per port charger is in my purse for my mod and iPhone. I also have a nice 4 port charger in the car. If you have any less of a charger for your two battery mod it’s likely to get pretty hot! I think this was $22. It’s high quality and very smart. At home I...
So what is this firmware of which you speak, and why should I update my mod with it? Firmware is the program that runs the operation of the mod and occasionally they will fix bugs or add features in new firmware versions. With how some mods get rushed out, they may have bugs or things that don’t...
My best RTAs for flavor and performance are the Wotofo Troll, Augvape Boreas V2, and Vandy Vape Kylin in stubby mode. The other thing I like about them is the short efficient design.
Appearance: They are handsome, but not flashy or colorful. Every time I see a flashy looking RTA I like and then...
These are the typical size grub screws used in most RTAs. I use them to replace screws that are slotted or philips head since these hex heads are easy to tighten and won’t strip. These are longer than the usual with the idea that more threads engaged means that they tighten better and won’t wear...
Temperature coefficients with the Vaporesso Polar mod. Currently I don’t have any RTAs set up with NiFe, Ni, or Ti so this will dwell on SS 316L coils. Out of the box the SS coefficient is set far too high at 110 (0.00110). I’m not sure why they set it that high other than possibly to work with...
If you wonder why your Polar mod clock loses time so much, it’s because the clock stops when you remove the batteries and resumes when you insert the batteries. I noticed how the time lagged when I swapped batteries and so I removed them for a few more minutes and noticed the clock lagged a few...
Last year I wanted a more up to date charger. Not just one for mod batteries, but most cells I use. Being a lab tech who’s used many very expensive lab charger analyzers I’m very picky about battery chargers. I went out researching specs and functions of countless chargers off and on for many...
If you have the new Polar mod and that little bit of shifting of the back panel annoys you. Place a small bit of tape in the 4 places near the corners. I used the fancy industrial Kapton tape, but some packing tape would suffice if it’s not too thick. Place the tape right up to the edge of the...
Just a note about the Vaporesso Polar firmware v1.05 20180802. On earlier firmware the mod was troublesome to update or get to stay connected while updating. This latest update does indeed fix this issue. The mod readily connects without hitting the fire button and I tried reloading the firmware...
Occasionally the Polar mod in TC mode runs too hot. It’s not the tank since it works perfectly on my VBoy 200W (YiHi SX500) which is always consistent. I’ll have to go trim the coefficient back from 92 (0.00092) to 82 or 70 or 50 to get it to be more normal. Does anyone else have this issue...
It looks like the firmware updates so far are minor. From the notes these are the fixes:
1. Adjusts Insta-Fire. I think early Polars had a power spike this fixes.
2. Fixes Auto Mode A from blinking.
3. Fixes trouble updating firmware...
I fitted my Boreas V2 with dual core clapton coils. SS 316L 26g/32g at 0.12 ohms. I have the Polar set to 70W at 210°C. I wanted to bring that tank as close to the mesh Cascade tank. It’s quite big improvement!
I’ve never used the fancy wires other than making twisted, so I decided to try...
The Cascade Baby SE mesh tank that comes with the Polar mod is excellent. First tank in a combo I’ve ever loved at it upstages my Troll RTA. The one thing that some and I have a problem with is juice seeping from the top fill. Mine is fixed now and hopefully this works for others who have this...
