Nice Video DaMulta:

I just received my AW IMR 1600 mAh LiMn(Manganese not Magnesium) yesterday(I got it from Lighthound, luckily, right before they sold out) and I charged it up and tested it out. I only have a single Silver Bullet with one 510 atty so I can honestly say that I really could not see the difference between the LiMn and the regular 2400 mAh 18650 Li-Ion Ultrafire(and believe me I was SO hoping to). I can tell from your video , however, with the Double SB that there clearly is a difference. I guess the single SB is not pulling enough of a current to make the high amperage output possibility apparent. I do agree as well that the LiMn are much safer and am glad I took your advice and was able to get my hands on at least one.

I got my 2 batteries today from lighthouse.

First off, They must have already been almost charged, because it only took an hour to fully charge them.

I put it in my Silver Bullet...and Wow....I thought my cartomizers were lacking of late, actually i thought it was the TastyFinger that was making them clog up....it wasnt. They revamped my cartomizer....i'm so happy !!!

These batteries are wonderful in the SB. Thanks so much for this thread !

You will probably notice a bigger difference in your JuiceBox. Rumor has it that the atomizer in the JB is only about 2 ohms which is less than the 3 or so ohms of the cartos. Because there is less resistance, much more current can flow (if the battery can deliver it). This IMR high drain battery can supposedly deliver more current than a standard 18650. So, give it a shot and report back.

Just got my two out of the box and they tested 3.99 and 4v. They're at 4.06 after 20 minutes in the Trustfire multi-charger.

Can't wait to try them at full charge, my 510's and 401's I use on the BSB are all testing around 2.5ohms.

Just got mine as well. Like you, I could tell no difference on my Prodigy between the AW 2600 mAh 18650 and the AW IMR 1600 mAh LiMn.... That was until I put on a cartomizer. Wow! I could only enjoy cartomizers at 5 volts or higher. 3.7 was just too weak. I get great pulls with this new red battery, that all other 18650's just couldn't manage. For that alone, in my book, this one is a keeper.

With Lifep04 batteries when you stack them you still have to put a PCB board on them.

This is the first I have heard of this. From what I have read, the LifePO4 are the safest chemistry of all lithium based batteries.

Some things I have found on the subject of LifePO4:

Safe technology — will not catch fire or explode with overcharge

High discharge rate capability, 10C continuous, 20C pulse discharge

Does not suffer from “thermal runaway”

Can be used safely in high ambient temperatures of up to 60C without any degradation in performance

Can be operated in any orientation

Everything looks accurate except the C rating. There is no protection against damage to the cells. From everything I read you have stay below 3C of the battery to prevent damage to cells. I doubt it will explode, but a vent can occur if you stress the cells above their limit. If you overcharge them the batteries will swell up.

Depending on the amount of the "vent", inside an enclosed cylinder this could be pretty much the same thing?

Possibly, I would imagine the build up of pressure needing to reach extreme levels though. I honestly, haven't read of any thing exploding with the lifepo4's ill have to do some searching later.

Back on to the the thread at hand, I just recieved my AW IMR 18650 it's in the charger right now.

I'm definitely not arguing that lifepo4's are better or not. It's just that some people are looking for "ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED SAFE" (which I doubt exists) and will latch on to something like that, mis-state it or take it out of context and spread it as gospel.

In the land of no hills and red dirt
Read this thread, got one from lighthouse, delivered today. Charged in an hour, put on my ggts with non hv 510.

Proceeded to quickly fill my house with thick vape. HVish vape.

Got on lighthouse, ordered two more.

Now wondering what to do with my cr123 collection.

Now considering renting myself out as a fumigator in my spare time.

There is always a risk. I would argue that lifepo4 are probably the batteries with the least amount of risk. Everything I've read about lifepo4 is they can vent when used well beyond their spec C rating. They are a rigorous battery though. They will endure much more than in comparison to a unprotected li-ion (after all they are unprotected). However, when they vent its a non toxic and non flammable gas. Can silicon sealed parts go flying off the device due to a build up of pressure? Likely, but at least it's not followed by flames or explosion.
