Anyone having burnt tasting coils right out of the pack? I bought a 5 pack and the first one was awesome but now coils 2 and 3 are giving me a burnt taste no matter what I do. If I drop some liquid into the center of the coil it will vape good until that dries up then its back to burnt hits. FWIW, Im using a Triton V1 and a Triton V2 tank on my SX Mini at 30 watts. If i drop the wattage to 25 or raise it to 35 its still burnt city...Bad coils or something else?

Definitely have had this problem, they do have a chemical taste for the first few rounds of draws, especially with clearer ejuices I have found. I'm having the same kind of trouble myself, at first the mod, tank and atomizers were great at 23.5 Watts with a kanthal ccell... Now, 23.5 is bleh and even amping it up to 35 Watts does jack. I brush my teeth and mouth wash nightly, and tried whiffing some coffee to rule out vapers tongue and I'm still at a loss for why my flavor has diminished :(

My Tobecco Super Tank Mini arrived today; took it apart (which was difficult, everything was REALLY screwed down tight), washed everything, primed a kanthal cCell, installed it, filled the tank almost full with the airflow totally closed. Screwed the drip tip back on (it's proprietary but I rather like it), opened up the airflow and zero leaking!

10 minutes of excellent flavor and clouds, vaping at 30 watts. I sat the mod down for maybe 10 minutes to clean up something in the kitchen, and when I went for another drag, it was kinda flooded. No biggie, thought I. Happens sometimes. I was using a 50/50 (Pop's Pipe from Good Life Vapor) liquid too.

I thought I could just vape through it. That's what I usually do with any other tank. But this just got worse and worse, until e-liquid started trickling out of one of the air slots.

So, gang, any suggestions? Maybe I primed the coil too much before installing it? All the o-rings look to be in good shape. I'll try a higher-VG liquid soon and post the results.

But if anyone has any tips, let's have 'em!

I thought I was crazy when I pulled mine out of my pocket and it the whole tank was covered in e-juice! I feel like we maybe be filling them to high??? I always try to get mine right to the brim (OCD sorry) the problem has not reappeared since I started filling a little less.

what vg/pg were you using? this talk of leaking has me nervous...i have this in a cart to purchase this morning! i also am using the melo 2 with these coils, and was debating to try the super tank mini or get another melo 2 since it has been performing so well, but i wanted the white option to match another mod i have. one thing i like about the melo 2 is the side-filling. you just rotate the top and pour in, without having to completely remove anything and put it off to the side, which could get juice everywhere. in the supertank mini i believe the whole top unscrews, and you have to put it aside or something

Sounds strange...
I haven´t had that experience with the cCell coils and I have used several of them with different juices (candy, fruity & custards...) for a while now. The 0.9 Kanthals between 25-30W both in The Target tank, Fury tank & The Silo beast tank. Just a clean wonderful taste :)

I just ordered some more coils from a different vendor so I'll give em another shot. Out of the five I got in the first pack, one has worked properly.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. Thanks for your help, because of this thread i saw compatible tanks and went with the melo 2 which is working great so far. I did have a target kit with tank, but unfortunately it had the screen glitch so I returned it for an exchange in hopes the new one works and I'm waiting on that to come in. Hopefully i won't have to go through 4+ exchanges to get one that functions properly like some have had to do.
Also think I'm going to get the tobeco mini tank, seems like the liquid has very easy access to the coil with it.
As for the Gemini, all the pics i have seen for it say 3ml....kind of underwhelming. The only reason I'm interested in it is because of the new coils it comes with. If the new coils are released at the same time i'll just go with those but haven't found any info on that. Don't get why they just didn't make it 4ml at least.

Hello Foozwak, and welcome to ECF! :)

Hopefully everything will be released very shortly. I am also anxiously awaiting this tank!!

It does seem like it could have been bigger, but since it't top fill it isn't that big of a deal to me. I just hope it performs as well as the Target tank does! I have one on preorder and I am very excited to try it out. :)

That's weird that the first one was great but the 2nd and 3rd are doing that. The first coil was also in a Triton? I would have been willing to bet it was the tank, but I don't have a Triton to try it out in. :( Do you have another tank you can try the coil in to see if it still tastes burnt that way?

Hi!
I bought 2 packs of these Vaporesso coils (one pack, kanthal, the other one, Ni200).
I installed the kanthal one in my Atlantis tank and the Ni200 in the Triton. I let them sit for about an hour and both coils are giving me a horrible burnt taste.
I mean, is the same taste you get from a dry hit.
Im rockin´the kanthal coil over a Snow Wolf at 24 watts and the Ni200 coil over a Cuboid, in Ni Temp Mode at 440 F°.
Most reviewers say one minute to prime and you are good to go, so is something wrong with these coils or they need more time to absorbe the liquid?
I always prime my coils with a couple of drops, and I did the same thing with these, but still, burnt cotton taste.
Am I doing something wrong or this is something that happens with these Vaporesso coils?

I tried them in a triton V1 and the triton V2. The two versions are designed differently so I'm thinking it's the coils. I contacted the vendor to let them know and he said I was the only one of 200 orders that had an issue. I promptly ordered some more from a different vendor. I still have one coil left from that pack that I'm gonna try tonight but I'm not very confident that it will be any different. If the new coils I have coming act the same then I'm done with them. It sucks because I am using my Crown tank today and I can't get near the flavor that I got from the CCell. That first coil I used showed me what they are all about. I'm hoping that the next pack I get are good ones.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm hoping that the next set of coils I get are better. When they work right, they are excellent.

Thank you for the welcome. I just preordered too! very excited about how the SS coils will perform. Just an observation I made when i was looking at pics of the Gemini: some have mentioned their tanks not being that great a fit with the ccell coils because of juice accessibility to the juice inlets..but if you notice on the new tank, the tri-hole designs are nearly covered! the whole stem appears to have 4 juice intake holes, which can be adjusted. they made them pretty small so maybe they're that confident that even with them being that small, that the coil will wick well enough?? and another point about that--why control the juice if these coils don't have spit back or flooding? at least I've never experienced flooding with mine in the target tank or in the Melo. (maybe i use too high of VG for it to ever be an issue?) or maybe the SS coils are built differently and flooding IS an issue with their design?...

Boy I certainly hope not! I am not a fan of leaky tanks at all. The SS coils are definitely different than the other 2 wire types and if they don't perform as well as I am hoping I am completely fine with just sticking to the kanthal cCells. It has crossed my mind that I might have pretty high expectations due to how well the kanthal cCells have performed for me. It's hard to improve on perfection. :D I'm stoked about the top fill feature though. If I had my way, EVERY tank would be top fill, lol!

That's some seriously bad customer service from your vendor! Sheesh! I'm glad you decided to try them from somewhere else. It's not unheard of to get a bad batch of coils, for crying out loud. I'm sorry you got blown off like that. :(

You really should let them sit for longer than 1 minute. You can definitely get a burnt taste if the coil isn't completely saturated. I'm sure you are already past this issue by now, but I would have started the nickel coil at a lower temperature just to break it in. I got a major dry hit from my nickel coil when I first used it, so I know how awful that tastes. :(

I fixed my problem. It was one of the o-rings on the cCell itself. It's the larger of the two, near the bottom of the head. I removed it and replaced it with the "matching" o-ring from one of the Tobeco heads. It's very obviously more beefy than the thin red one that's on the cCells.

I had to push in the inner (positive?) part of the tank's 510 so that the cCell head would make good contact with it. Also had to use just a bit more torque to get the cCell (now with the "new" o-ring) screwed into place. Overall, very little hassle.

I shoulda taken photos that point out the bits and pieces that I am referring to, but I didn't. Derp. I took these instead.

Well, I tried the last one I had last night. I primed it and let it sit for about 10 minutes in a full tank. I gave it a few pulls and I thought it might be good to go. I then let it sit overnight and tried it this morning. After 5 minutes or so, it started giving me that dreaded dry burn taste. I left it home and after work I'll give it another go. Until, I get my next set of coils, I'm gonna run with the UWell crown. Good flavor but still not what I was getting out of the CCell. Can't wait to get the next set of coils in. Hopefully that will be tomorrow.

Check this video:
There is an email address for Eight Cig in the description to contact and arrange a replacement if you are having this problem.

The screen glitch/overheating issue is common (I'm on my fourth replacement now). According to Vaporesso, it's an issue with interference from the PCBA affecting only a few in the first two production runs, but by the number of comments/messages I've had from other having the same problem, I'm not sure about that claim. I've included the email I got back from Vaperosso (they only responded after I sent them a link to my Youtube videos)

From my experience with the 4 I've had to date... When the units are affected by this problem, you may notice intermittent 'low power'/no hits (especially while running in TC mode) with a fully or almost fully charged battery. When the battery actually does get low (seems most often between 20-30%) the screen will glitch and go crazy. You can clear it by removing/replacing the battery, but if you leave it with the screen messed up, it will overheat behind the display. It's happened twice to me now when it started to glitch and I didn't realize right away, got quite hot both times. Hoping they come clean and get the faulty units replaced before someone has a real bad problem. Since it only happens when the battery is low, I'm not sure if it will have enough juice to actually start a fire or anything (just a single 18650 thank god), but if someone were to plug it into the pass through charger without noticing it's glitching, it may become a real problem.

The latest replacement they have sent me is arriving today. I will test it thoroughly and I will post an update once that is done. They say this one is from a new batch, and that it won't have the same problem as the rest. They've passed along to me that anyone seeing this problem should email and arrange to have the unit replaced.

I just saw your update video about a possible fix from the company using a hard reset, could you post? Still waiting on my replacement from my vendor, but if the new one i get does it again i'll try this method
