O.k. I'm new to vaping but 4 weeks without a cigarette after almost 40 years of smoking still amazes me. So here's my question, how many years have you been vaping and do think it's improved your health? Is it something I can do long term without having to worry about giving up? I really enjoy it more than cigarettes.

Hello.

Allow me to start by saying that when I started vaping I was at the worst health of my life. I was a whopping 360 pounds. I was completely unable to exercise. I smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day. I suffered from MULTIPLE chronic pain illnesses. I suffered from COPD. I suffered from a rare and extremely painful (recently called the 3rd most painful disease) disease known as Hidradenitis Suppurativa - or, HS for short.

Just a few months over a year later, here I am. Almost under 300 pounds. Able to go outside and play contact sports (look up "Dagorhir") with friends. I run a 5k daily. My COPD is dramatically better. My HS is declining to the point that I am leaving very late stage 3 and entering early stage 3/late stage 2. I can RUN a 5K! DID I MENTION THAT?!

In a years time I have made a complete change in my life. I feel better. I taste better. I see better. I can run. I can breathe. I can ENJOY life again - and THIS is what these ....ING .......S are trying to ban. Vaping saved my life.

I have been vaping off and on regularly for almost a year, and vaping in some form (disposables every now and then, friends spare 510) for probably 2-2 1/2 years. I think it has improved my health over the years, even with just stress reducal. I stopped smoking a while ago, which wasn't a big deal, but I noticed myself getting stressed out and hating people more. Which, is a big deal cause I work in retail and am actually a people person. Since I started vaping majorly this past month, I have noticed my mood and demeanor change and I am back to my outgoing, person loving self. Turns out I needed something to keep myself calm and sane, and that's very reasonable. I'd much rather it be vaping than alcohol (even though I enjoy a nice drink every now and then). So, long story short, yes I do believe it has improved my health, and for the better too.

Oh, and I can breathe better too. (asthmatic)

I think of vaping as an alternative to smoking. I like the nicotine and am down to 3mg strength. Not planning to ever quit vaping :vapor:

5 years and counting.. no problems other than my mod addiction.. lol. I've never really been a quitter...... so I'm thinking I'll continue this vaping thing and see how it works out. Healthier than I've ever been .

My tip is in the beginning find a juice/flavor and stick with that until you c as nt stand it.. it took me almost 2 years.. 15% toasted almond... Real good all day vape.
And stay kinda lower on nice. 18mg and work down.. too much higher will make you chase or sick or both. Lol

I have been at it about 1 1/2 yrs so far and totally believe it's the best thing I have ever done. I smoked 48yrs and used to get really sick in the spring and fall each year with bronchitis/pneumonia and be out of work for at least a week each time. I was short of breath and coughing and just a general mess. I haven't had so much as a cold since the 2nd week after I started vaping. This has also become a hobby for me and I have learned so much. The biggest thing for me is the freedom from buying something I knew was killing me and wasn't able to quit it.

After two years I can attest to improved health. My oxygen absorption level jumped to within a normal range from a dangerous one within three months, amazing my doctor. My colds are few and brief, no more bronchitis, inflamed lungs or pneumonia.

I expect to keep vaping at some level for the foreseeable future, eventually at a low or no nicotine level. My nic level is now 12mg, but the first six months were at 24, then 18 for about a year. I've had a few friends slip back into smoking after stopping vaping completely. I would rather have an ecig handy when the urge hits.

Congratulations on making the switch!

Hmmm...almost vaping for 3 years (began in 2010) and as far as health? Well, as much as I would love to show you my before and after pictures (no way and hell would I, though it is great for fitness forums), I will just say that I began working out, eating right, and just caring bout my body altogether after I stopped smoking--it would seem that when I smoked, I just didn't give a spit about my body. My cardiovascular endurance, strength, LBM (lean body mass) and overall physical well being pretty much skyrocketed. Now, I would be remiss if I didn't add that vaping also brought about the end of a couple other less than positive, uhh, activities as well--once I didn't smoke, that other stuff went away (thank GAWD!). It would seem as if smoking was, maybe not a gateway, but it sure as hell kept the door open for the other madness.

All that said, I don't have the lung capacity that I would like (though it is tremendously better than it was), and that is likely do to heavy VG vaping, but the doctor says that I am all good and I feel pretty damn good. Maybe I occasionally get a little congestion, but I can't say for sure what that's from.

If you stopped smoking, irrespective of whether or not you vape, you will feel and be better; if you vape, but no longer smoke, well, you no longer smoke, so back to the original point. Vaping in and of itself is not healthy per se, but it is not what one would consider "unhealthy" either.

Vaping is the best thing that has ever happend to me , my family and friends. It transforms lives. It is really amazing when a smoker knocks your funny looking apparatus then you tell them how much money your saving and how great you feel. I think when people see money it resonates better then health claims. I love hearing from people who try it and say "WOW" this is awesome. But all in all you have to want to quit cigarettes, period.
