yep, totally random. Did a second coil in another atty with the un-toasted, and it's snaggy too.

It will pick up any and all fibers it can grab.
I kind of force pull it through and pull back a little.
Sometimes I get just a bit too much and it will shear the cotton fiber cohesiveness and I trash that piece.

I am out of the wire you sent me, but have 200' of the .6x.07 on the way. I have not re-wicked the cold-processed stuff yet, but the hot-processed stuff does bite my cotton a bit on the re-wick. Have another day or so before I re-wick the cold processed one. Will report back afterwards.

Xo, you should have hollered at me. (or would that be screeched)
I would have helped a fellow primate out.
The seller has been really prompt at shipping in the past for me and is in your neck of the woods so you will get it before I could send more.
I want to see what Xocgyver can do with a empty roll of toilet paper, some peanut shells, a banana peel, and ribbon wire.

Oh, and on a secondary note I added a teensy amount of menthol on a toothpick to my keylime like I did every once and awhile before with round Kanthal and Rene41.
Holy Cow I thought someone had put deep heating rub in it.
Note to self.....Don't!

:vapor:

Edit: added not add. I only do that every once and a while for that Kool feeling.

Finally. Now I can twist up some proper magic. Thanks Obi Wan Mundy

Great, glad to see more are going to try it.
Well I better get that block of AO carved up and try magic with it now that Dan and gdeal are experimenting.

Keep us informed and pictures, pictures, pictures.
Especially real detailed ones like a scanner bed at 1200 DPI (hint)

Oh, by the way did I mention pictures.

Xo won't believe it without them.

Well, only have a minute or so to post.

Melted the Reo Grand button today.
Had to use a backup Hero Hybrid for most of the day.
That made me really appreciate the Reo Grand.

Just cut a .010 in brass feeler gauge up for a firing arm and installed it and a new button I had.
Had to remove the top coil of the Meat Grinder due to the improvement.
Couldn't draw longer than 1 second or so before the drip tip got too hot.
Working as good with only the bottom coil as with both before.
Will have to make another Meat Grinder with more coils when I can get to it.

Last time I checked 1650 ft ribbon sold.
Will be good to see some magic made by others.

Have a totally off the wall idea for another atomizer that will take low voltage with high current.
Will have to be a bottom feeder and made Hybrid style due to high amperage and low voltage.
Bought a blem VV Grand from Rob without the electronics as I already have a 20A SMD buck module that should fit with no problem and will go down below 1 V.
Sure wish I had a milling machine and a lathe.

Will be out of pocket except for short breaks till at least Mon or Tue.
Work is going to kill me and I don't know that my boys and I can get to it all.

Well, now, I happened to notice that I also have a .010 brass feeler gauge. . . . . . hmmmmm. Playtime? I've already got my brass sheathed flat top batt. firing pins in . . . and I'm getting some beta testing stuff from Rob soon . . . . .. . but this sounds like fun. Also, I'm curious as to whether solid brass will outperform the brass shim on ss.

There was a guy doing low V stuff in the modding forum (1V? 1.5V, i think) . .. anyway, when you get into the low Ω / low V stuff, it's pretty hard to nail the resistance you want, and a difference of, say, .05Ω is a substantial thing.

OH, but wait, you're a 'lectrical guy . .. u know that.

Well, mark me down as jealous.

Unfortunaty my Kelvin style meter is on the fritz and I am going to have to repair it.

Thanks for the supplier update! 100' ordered :2cool:

On my RM2 that I got its one of the newer ones that had a very tiny hole in the tall post. What size bit should I use to drill it out to for your magic wire?

I don't remember which bit I grabbed out of my RC stash but the wire itself is about .040" OD +-
I think I did about 1/16 at first, but really had to hog them out for dual coils.

Here is my first successful twist. A definite learning curve here!
