Mr. Dano. Next you should dive into cotton wick. But be prepared to have your mind BLOWN!

Already have a nano dragon in my titan dripper :)

wink wink! :)

well, my 6 wrap quickly became a 3/4 @ .5Ω and I'm a happy camper!

But, the reason I write to you, gentlemen, is one of confusion. What's up with the resistance on this stuff? Am I just being stupid? ( . . .. don't)

If I do a 3/4 wrap and get .5Ω (or .4Ω on my other 3/4 wrap), then how come Xoxo gets to do a dual 4/5 and net the same? What kind of res. have you been getting, Mundy? (I recall that the initial #s you sent me with the sample pieces was also substantially higher than what I'm finding.)

His looks like a larger ID than mine.
I currently wrap on 1.2mm which springs back a little.
I tighten it back up where the 1.2mm will just slip in after dry burn.
I get about .1 ohm per wrap that way give or take.

Also, the resistance could be different with the cold process and the hot process.
I am using the cold process, that is the one y'all got that was shiney.
I stopped doing the hot process because it was a PITA to make.

I just gave this a shot with .5 x .1 not sure but I think I didn't wrap something tight enough, either individual wrap or the 3 together maybe? doesn't look as thorny or pointy as yours I think...

gonna take me a little while to judge it, right now I think I may have wicked it to light? and I have a juice in there right now that I'm not so crazy about, has a weird taste that seems to be greatly amplified with this :) maybe not the best candidate to judge enhanced flavors with :) gonna play with it a bit

So, ok, Mundy, if you're getting ~0.1Ω/wrap, that's pretty darn close to what I'm getting (considering that my ID is a bit bigger). BTW; this coil is the cold processed one. My initial impression is that it's equal to the hot-twisted in flavor and vapor. I think I'd have to wrap a bunch more of these before I could tell any subtle difference.

One thing that could be totally random coincidence (but I'll mention it in case there's a pattern to be found later); I'm finding the cold formed wire to be way easier to wick. The cotton slides in there pretty easy. I just re-wicked my original coil (hot twisted) and it's grabbing at my cotton and won't let it through.

so far what I can see from this one I wrapped is flavor definitely amplified, if your not crazy about your juice to begin with then this can make you really not like it, but with a juice you like it's pretty intense... still not too sure about this one tbh, is there such thing as flavor overload? the vape feels a bit heavier, I usually exhale through my nose which I think gives me more flavor sensations normally, but doing that with this one almost feels like it's too much, I can really feel the vape in my nasal passages as I exhale it, a lot more flavor but not a lot more vapor which makes it feel a bit heavy to me, a regular microcoil seems a bit more wispy and light with less throat hit and a lot of vapor for the amount of flavor it delivers, this one seems to increase flavor and throat hit but not vapor so much really. maybe I just need to find a juice I really love and maybe I gotta try wrapping again, I tried to get a closeup of the wrap, def doesn't look like yours :)

hmm, tried 4 different juices including grants vanilla custard right now, maybe I like my flavors a bit less pronounced? maybe I just have to try a different wrap? but this one seems like it's doing what's intended, do you get a whole lot more flavor? does it ever seem like it could be too much flavor? next chance I get I'll try a few different wraps but I don't have the same size ribbon as mundy used :) gonna try .4 x .1 next I think but gona try to live with this one for tomorrow and see how it breaks in

Turbo,

By the looks and resistance it doesn't look like you twisted till folded at step one.
That was what some of my stuff looked like before I was doing that.
Glad you found it enhanced flavor.
But try to get that folding and you will really be surprised.

Glad you are experimenting with it and that flavor thing.....
It seems to amplify some more than others so it can change the flavor profile of a complex flavor.

Got to go to work now.

thanks, gonna try again later

So, your twisting a single piece of ribbon Together for the first step?

Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4

yeah, tight wrap a single piece till it folds over on itself tightly, don't think I got this first twisting tight enough, then 3 lengths of this twisted wire, twisted together in the opposite direction

yep, totally random. Did a second coil in another atty with the un-toasted, and it's snaggy too.
