Given the number of active ECF members i see here every day i would have thought i would have at least a few vaping acquaintances. But alas i am alone!! I live in a fairly populous area (the Jersey Shore) and work in mid-town Manhattan. When i take a vape break in front of my office i am a vaper surrounded by smokers. If i go out at home to a bar or restaurant and go out for a vape again its lonely old me out with the smokers. I guess either vaping hasn't caught on here yet or i am just hanging out in the wrong places. Ok enough whining from me i feel much better now!

Everyone I know that vapes is only trying to save money and aren't into it as a hobby.

Or, there's my brother. He just hates to have to stop to buy cigarettes. He prefers to order a year's worth of supplies online and never have to go shopping. But, he isn't into it as a hobby or anything and even gets irritated by the subject (except when he comes to me to ask where he needs to go online to buy what he needs).

So, I have no one to talk to IRL about vaping. To them, it's just a boring necessity, nothing else. And, they certainly don't know enough to give advice either.

Thankfully, there's ECF!

Haha i'm in the same boat. Although I have seen a few people when I go to bar's and such. Had some friends who smoke tell me they bought the cheap gas station mart e-cigs. They gave up on them soon after because they broke or didn't work well to begin with.

My gf likes to use mine occasionally but she was never a smoker to begin with, so she likes some 0mg for the taste. Not interested enough to own her own set up.

I posted a pic of my vaporshark on facebook and an old high school buddy saw it and was stoked because he found another vaper. He offered to take me to a few shops where he's gotten acquainted with the staff and owners. So don't worry, you'll find someone. LOL this is starting to sound like a dating site.

I am the MASTER at saving money with e-cigs. I have used the same Provari for over 3 years. One time/year I spend about $95.

E-Liquid* - $76
Pair of AW IMR's - $14
Kanthal/Cotton - $5

*I vape unflavored DIY, with only 3% menthol at 18mg nic. I order 500mL of 36mg nic in VG base, 500mL of PG, and 2 vials of menthol flavoring. 1 liter of e-liquid lasts me a year easily.

I live in a town with a population of about 200K. I rarely see another vaper and get questions and/or odd looks when I am out and about and vaping. Some of my friends has expressed interest and ask about it but have yet to make the switch. My hub is an analog smoker, when I have gone to the smoke shop with him where they also sell some cheap chinese vapor people stare at my nautilus like it's a weapon or something frightening. I'm okay it with it, it's sort of fun to be considered odd or avant-garde. :D

I have a few acquaintances around whom I used to hang a few years back when we were all smokers. Ran into them again (friend of a friend of a friend) and they've been vaping for at least a couple years now (the "leader" of the pack has been going through 2nd round of breast cancer, so she quit, they all quit.) Other than that, tried to get my former smoking buddy at work to vape, but he's not as into it as I am. I vape in my office; he still goes down to the smoke pit.

I'm o.k. being a "lonely vaper". Much rather be that than a "still-smoker" :)

I have lots of friends out here. Great advice from them. They listen to my stupid questions, and actually get what I'm talking about :D

I public transit to work every day (hell, it's faster than a car!) and a guy at my stop at home vapes! It kills me that he's using cheap CE4s; he's into it to save cash and that seems to be his only consideration. But I've got two neighbors on the fence and one of them will come to the dark side for sure (insert ominous laughter here!)

I know there are vapers here as the two local B&Ms seem to be pretty popular but I dont know any of them heh. A few guys I used to work with at an old job were into it, and theyre the ones that turned me on to it, but those guys couldnt answer crap about any of my serious questions because they were never smokers to begin with.. These guys were a good 10 years + younger than me and were just doing it cause it was the cool new thing to do..

I have had one lady that came in to my work a few months ago that was walking around the shop vaping, but this was when I was still knee deep in Pall Mall reds so I didnt bother asking or anything about it..

Doesnt really bother me though. Im not a cloud chaser or anything, I just keep it for me to get rid of my smoking habit so me and my little Evod are doing just fine on our own.. My roomie doesnt complain when I sit on the couch and vape all day so Im all good as is hehe..

"All the lonely vapers where do they all belong?" I'm lucky and blessed to have the same circle of friends since high school. Some for 50+ years and we mostly live within shouting distance of each other. I'm the last one to quit smoking. All are terrifically supportive but do get a little glassy eyed at my explanations.

I don't get out all that much so, at my first stop at a local shop last Friday night was very cool. Met the guys, learned some things, tried different juices and as I was leaving one offered to teach me how to build coils. All my pent up enthusiasm got vented and I was happy!

I'm so happy y'all are here!

Hello, my name is WhiteHighlights and I'm a lonely vaper! I've been smoke free for 11 months. I've only seen 1 vaper in the wild in all that time. The sad part is I saw this person when I drove to OH to visit my outlaws-it was in a bar, the guy pulled an evod out of his pocket while he was talking on his phone and paying his tab. I didn't get a chance to talk to him . On the positive side, I was happy to know that here really are other vapers out there!
