Lots of things were acceptable that aren't anymore. Remember when everybody was walking around with bluetooth headsets in their ear? It looked stupid, it was a little rude, and I'm glad it's over. Heck, SMOKING is silly. We have no problem telling people that. What's the big deal about calling cloud chasing silly? It is. Hot dog eating contests are silly too.

Isn't silly to those that cloud chase....

Come on, I'm sure there is something you like to do that someone else thinks is silly... Different interests for different personalities. God, if we were all the same it would be boring as heck!

It sounds like the solution is to crack down on people who makes vaping gear available to kids then. It seems to me that the self-governing that the industry is doing by restricting purchases to adults is working and the outliers are the convenience stores that don't care who buys their stuff, as long as the buy it. I would be willing to bet that those same convenience stores have no problems in letting kids buy cigarettes or beer either.
That's definitely the solution and it's the gas stations and convenience stores doing this which are also the same places that sell synthetic drugs to teens disguised as incense and now e-liquid.

If you jump over to the Michigan section of this board, you will find a thread with a news article where legal eliquid manufacturers were being slandered last fall as drug manufacturers when channel 4 news used their product and company name as a prop to describe illegal drugs. These are also the same places that used to sell me cigarettes as a kid.

Since teens are curious to try things that make them look cool or adult like, I had a long discussion about vaping with my son who starts high school in the fall, telling him he is going to probably start seeing these things along with peer pressure. He told me half the kids already have one in his middle school. I asked him to describe the products and he said nobody has the kind of gear I use. They all have the Chinese egos that these gas stations are selling. I believe he said they are charging the kids $20 for a pen and a small bottle of liquid.

All the above.

Which really makes me wonder, how the government can expect to successfully keep kids from getting ecigs when these types that we use are Not typically the kind that kids are using! And the ones we use are the ones they are trying to ban!!! UGH

I think educating teenagers and children is better than just saying no, you can't do that. Many children will think they're just trying to be controlled and as they grow up, they'll tolerate that less and less. Telling them why you feel they shouldn't do something, IMO, works better. I was constantly told things like this and when I asked why, was met with "Because I'm an adult and I know better" or "Because (insert deity here) said so". I ended up having to educate myself on many things, and that's not going to work well for everyone.

Within the last month or so I've upgraded from egos and cheap clearos after vaping those two years. I now have a subtank mini and an istick (as well as a couple cheap mechs and a kbox). Before I upgraded, I never thought "cloud chasing" or even taking lung hits would appeal to me.

When I first got the subtank I was getting little nicotine buzzes off hitting it at 10-13 watts and the flavor was worlds cleaner, it felt like I was truly VAPING for the first time instead of just inhaling small amounts of nicotine.

After a week or two, I started using the airflow wide open... Then I slowly started turning the watts up a little and figured out the best way to build for the most satisfying vape. Now I'm vaping at around 17-20 watts and I'm sure a handful of people would think that I'm "cloud chasing" if they watched me vape at home, but I'm not. It's simply a very satisfying vape and has lots of flavor too. I take 2 second drags, as opposed to taking 10 second drags back to back until it tasted nasty and still not being satisfied. None of it is about what I'm exhaling unless it's subconsciously.

Now am I going to continue to push it and try to build down to 0.2 ohms and crank the wattage up to 50? No. But I'm certainly blowing clouds when compared to what I used to exhale and compared to some other vapers.

Time for cliches: To each their own. Don't knock something until you've tried it.

I lika the clouds and i don't judge anyone that does something diffrent than I. However, I do not like blowing them in public places, places that we never smoked in when we were smokers.

I'm not a cloud chaser, but I'm very respectful with my vapor. I don't want someone to get a face full of my cloud and then turn around and vote against our right to vape because they find encounters with us annoying. I think every vaper, not just cloud chasers, should make a conscious effort to avoid public cloud assault. Just as I find it offensive to breathe someone else's cloud of analog smoke, I'm sure non-vapers are equally turned off by vapor clouds in their face... even small ones.

So my point is that every one of us should be mindful. The more people we offend, the more people who will vote in favor of regulating the heck out of us. Plus, it's just polite to avoid vaping in places where you wouldn't smoke. :)

I think that young kids in cold weather blowing to see their breath may have been the first cloud chasers.

So there is really no skill here and like the term suggest clouds are the only thing being chased and the only thing being gained.

I beg to differ..... There is a lot of skill involved in building good cloud chaser coils.........

No skill involved in that?
Or how about building a cloud producer on a limited device, say an istick 20w that has a 1 ohm limitation? That takes knowing the proper gauge and diameter ID to get the ideal heat flux out of your build. If its not something you know or care to know that's fine, but don't pretend there is no skill involved, and don't pretend that people pushing the envelope to get the most out of their gear hasn't effected the vape world in a positive way by bringing innovation to the gear we have available.

Its the satisfaction of making somethimg to performs amazing. If you bought the co ils and are a cloud chaser(hate that saying) then your a poser and a chump. You must be able to do your builds yourself if you wanma be a cloud chaser. The people in this general age group should be more then capable of making basic micros

Basic Claptons dont take much skill once you get the right momentum its pretty basic, fused claptons and catipillar coils arent veyry difficult either.
