I have a beta Buzz, a Buzz Pro, Infinity Pro, Billet Box, Curve 50, Vapor Shark 50, and a variable box mod I built. Plus a couple I started that I need to finish so if they outlaw vaping (except for anything the tobacco corp. sells) then I guess I'll be okay.

Alright Tootlers.... I just found out that my :censored: state has passed legislation regarding the manufacture and sale of e-liquids. (And yes, I contacted my representatives - like many other topics, they don't listen one iota to their constituents.) Rumors abound that devices might be next. I think I need to get my hands on a mech mod (or two or three), and I was wondering what my favorite tootlers might be using (Reos - already aware of them :) ) I would like something that will work with my Tootle Tanks (Nautis, PT2s, kayfuns, etc.) Nothing overly crazy - good switch and locking mechanism.

It's hard to read, but I get the gist that even DIY could be subject to this - but, it's legal to make beer or wine without any permits, so I don't know how they can disallow DIY e-juice for personal consumption.

Time to stock up
Don't get overly excited yet, if your state does indeed try to prohibition Ecig devices at least for a while you can still order from online places, and if they start refusing to mail to such states, I for one will straw buy for you and mail it to you myself. :)

I also have a nemesis clone, changed to magnets and added a kick. Just in case. I have a few others I have found on sales and if it looks scary will buy a few more kicks.

Since I've never really seen mechs up close and personal, I'm curious as to how the magnets work. Any pix to give me a visual idea? Plx n thx

Two kicked mechs and a vamo will do me fine, with two spare kicks in the vapepocalypse box.

Do those Smok kicks work in "any" 18xxx mech? What would I need to look out for?

Tootle puffing is expanding so fast that we may need different branches of the Tootle tree:

Fiddle Puffers - like to build their own coils
Blister Puffers - like to pop in a head from a blister pack
Kayfun Puffers - because there are so many of them
Old School Puffers - using gear that is no longer available or considered obsolete by many
Short Draw Puffers - vaping at very low or sub ohm levels with quick draws
Stick puffers - content with cigarette sized vapes

I would have to call myself an Old School Blister Puffer for the most part. I will continue fiddling with juicemaking until I run out of Vision Vivi Nova and Kanger T2 heads. That will happen in about 10 years, at which time I will become an Old School Fiddle Puffer.

Not sure if you mean these: Replacement heads for Smok Tech Redux/Vivi Nova or these: Vision Nova single and dual coil heads.

Vision 2.5 novas are my tootle buddies. I am of the belief the the Smok and million other imitations undermined the Vision version's reputation, which became excellent in the 2.5 release. The 2.4 ohm single coil heads at 3.9 volts on the Provari is delicious for me. None of the other heads, single or dual coil, give me that great flavor.

I just wasn't sure if either of those would be sufficient replacements :) I came across that vendor a year ago, and have purchased a few things from them - replacement coils mostly....

It's a glorious feeling when you find "THAT" perfect setup!!!!

You know how like magnetic poles repel each other (positive to positive or vice-versa)? In the switch, it's arranged so that when not in use, the "repel" property is in force... but you can push them together when you press the button. Obviously if the magnets aren't strong enough, then they don't repel strongly enough to be able to set the mod on its end without it firing -- strong magnets mean that you can set it on end and it doesn't accidentally fire; it takes a purposeful effort to push that button -- not such an effort that you get tired, though it does seem like a lot of force is necessary when you first start using it -- really just a matter of getting accustomed.

Do those Smok kicks work in "any" 18xxx mech? What would I need to look out for?

Any with a conductive metal battery tube -- there's a little doohickey that gets pushed in, when the Kick is in place -- it needs to touch metal.

Some mechanicals are better suited - they should ideally open from the top, so you can access the Kick. Unless they can extend about 15mm beyond an 18650, they will require 18500 batteries or an extension ring.

Here's some pics of my Kick, in my Galileo --

kick-1.jpg

kick-2.jpg

The 1st pic shows how it sits right at the top of the battery tube, so that center post can contact the battery on the bottom and the battery post on the top side.

The 2nd pic -- see the blue square? That phillips head in the center is what you fiddle with to adjust the setting. That silvery-looking blob at the 8 o'clock position has the little doohickey that gets pushed in, when the Kick is properly inserted in the tube.

The best way I've found for adjusting the position of it in a telescoping mech is, go ahead and put the topper you're using onto the top cap of the mech; put the top cap (with topper attached) onto the mech; THEN insert the kick and the battery in the mech -- because of that floating center pin; if you put the whole mech together before putting the topper on, it will push that floating pin too far up; having the topper in place when you put the top cap onto the mech, keeps that center pin in the correct position.

I think it was DavidOck who taught me all this, in the old vv3 thread -- so hat's off to David!! :thumb:
