I rebuilt 10 evod heads in 1/2 hour the other night. They are right zippy to do once you get it down. I do not like the silica ones that come in the tanks. Esp in the 1.99 evods the ones that come in them are right sucky. The 2.2 ohm anyvape ones I got are ok though until the flavor wicks bet a burned taste from my sweet vapes.

the liner material can be had at the Dollar store, I don't have the pic of it handy, I'll see if I can dig it out.
You can also use coffee filter paper, tried it at the suggestion of a lovely, brilliant member by the name of @LostVapeMonster. It works with 2 layers.
Tried rayon and cotton as the liner material and they would not allow proper wicking to the coils...
Best setup is one layer of non-wovern gauze in the liner. :)

(I gave credit where credit is due)

@AndriaD - Got me my Galileo and my Kick(s). Re-read your instructions on installing the kick. Couple more questions.... 1) I can't read the bloody potentiometer/rheostat to know where my setting is supposed to be. I tried for "middle of the road" by twisting all the way left and then all the way right and then back to "center" Should be about 8.5W for this 5-12W kick? Then, with the 18500 battery installed, how far up should the telescoping part be with respect to the top pin of the kick? Level, below level?

I don't want to crunch too hard on the telescoping part - I always had to watch for that with the Zmax.....

I can't really tell you "how far" -- just take off the top cap, and attach the topper to it -- once the topper is on it, push the center pin up until it won't go any further. It may be easier to put the Kick in from the top, so go ahead and put in the Kick before putting the top cap back on -- the Kick's center pin should be level with the top of that tube. Then, put the battery in, and screw on the bottom segment -- when it stops, that's the right level. I just make sure it's "snug," not tight. Oh, and in the event that you ever have a battery catastrophe, the top cap screws off FAR faster than the bottom segment, so you can a) break the circuit, and b) ditch the battery.

Andria

ETA: you're right, it's a bit of a challenge to see the setting with those Kicks; the center pin of the Kick has numbers printed on it; look at the Kick with the blue box at the top, and the scale printed on the center pin corresponds to the available settings -- on the gray part you adjust, it's like a cross or plus sign -- two of the 4 solid sections have a dimple, and the setting is the mark right between those two dimpled segments.

Interesting. I have a spring-loaded center pin in my cap. I can't push up from the underside of the cap, but I can push down on the center pin and it comes back. So, I pulled off the telescoping tube and leveled the top of the kick with the top of that. Then, I screwed the cap on (and then pulled it off to see how far down the kick got pushed. Looks to be about 3-4 threads worth.) Put the cap back on and screwed the telescoping tube onto the base (with the battery in place) just until I started getting some resistance. It's firing quite nicely :)

Heh, I have a mech mod now - whoda thunk?

Thank you for ALL your help and advice :)

One thing that happened to mine, quite soon after I got it -- I thought I'd broken it! -- the switch came unthreaded. But it's pretty easy to get it threaded back together, though it does take a determined effort, considering the strong magnetic repulsion.
