Cheech, do you have a KF mini? I have a couple of the clones I got from FT last summer. I really struggled with wicking (serious dry hits), and I think I have my kf lite and es3.1 under control, but the minis.... those are another story. I typically use a 3/32" or 1/8" bit with 28g kanthal. I'm anywhere up to about 1.5ohms, and wick with cotton. I've been trying the "bunny ears" method of trimming wick to appropriate length. With the tails coming up the top of the build deck, I trim to about 1/16 showing above the chimney base. Tuck the tails, soak the wick, put the rest of the chimney back together and install. Dry hits are a little less frequently (I was getting after about every 3 hits when I was wrapping around my 1/16" bit and 30g kanthal.) Now, I can probably go about 10 hits before it nails me.
I'm kind of a chain vaper (love that I can get away with that on my PT2s....) Run about 10, maybe 11W on the above build.
Got any tips/tricks to wicking?
