Gas = instant heat and instant stop cooking, Electric = warmup period and continues to cook after switched off for a short period. A learning curve granted. However being a fireman since age 14 (youngest volunteer in our state) I am a staunch total electric advocate, not that they have not also been responsible for fires. just far fewer and usually the ID 10 T error was involved, and never have I seen a house blown off it's foundation by an electric appliance.

Being a former firefighter myself....I have to say I've seen far more fires started from faulty electric lines then gas appliances :p

Well, that's excellent news! But I wonder why? Because of that "voltage drop" thing in mods with removable batteries? Honestly I don't really understand what that's about, my understanding of electrical jargon is growing somewhat, thanks to vaping, but still barely past "nonexistent". But that's interesting about the same mAh rating giving much better life in the istick... kind of thing that makes me go "hmmmmm"... ;)

It's because of the superiority of li-po would be my guess. At 25-30 watts I'm going all day on a single 800 mah li-po pack on my variant......800 mah...... Lasting more then double my 2500 mah 18650's :p

But I bet you never saw a single death from asphyxiation from electricity... ;)

Well shoot, at 10w that should easily last more than a day, maybe close to 2? My coils are kinda medium, usually 1.4-1.6Ω.

Virtually all tank dual element water heaters sold in the usa are one tank with 2 elements and only one element works at a time. I am trained on this subject.

You are correct sir, the top thermostat powers the upper element while cutting power to the lower thermostat until it reaches temp at which point it cuts power to the upper element and energizes the lower thermostat. We will give you a water-heater 101 jellybean :)

Dang it, you tricked me into posting about water heaters again, dang you to perdition.

In my experience I wouldn't say far more, even considering in my neck of the backwoods far more homes are total electric than gasified :)

When wire burns the outer coating along with the walls can cause asphyxiation.

I like a total electric home with a gas water heater. Gas water heaters reheat faster and if you're next inline for a shower.

The reason I literally worship firefighters is because of a brief habitation of a mobile home in which some total doofus had "modified" the wiring... which compromised the ground. Woke up one morning to a sound that sounded like really big critters chewing on the walls... then realized, I smelled smoke. Thought, oh it's autumn, it's some lackwit burning leaves... except it doesn't really smell like leaves... it smells like... INSULATION! I was up out of that bed in about half a second, threw open the back door, probably buck nekkid, and saw this column of black smoke rising from the roof of my mobile home. I was up the hall and on 911 in another half second, hollering TRAILER FIRE, TRAILER FIRE! then struggling into jeans and shirt as i woke my 8 yr old son and got him clothed, and by the time we hit the door, a cop was in the street... fire engines coming up the road. they got it put out before it did more than arc across the 2x4 supporting the 1/8th inch panelling. 30 more seconds and that whole end of the mobile home (where I had been sleeping!) would have been GONE, if not the entire thing.

I love firefighters FOREVER.

I've heard of people getting closer to 3 days out of the 30w isticks, I imagine you may be in this camp.... Unless like me you chain vape all day, then your set up might net you a measly 2 and a half days :p

I take it in fits and starts.... sometimes I sit here and chain vape for a while... sometimes I kinda forget to vape. :D Especially if I'm busy doing something. It's neat; cigarettes never let me forget them for one minute. :D

Since MyVaporStore's minimum shipping rate is the 2-day priority, I should have the mod tomorrow; the other stuff will trickle in over the next few days. Got some more VT TH nic incoming, too; reading that "is vaping doomed?" thread got me so paranoid I ran right over to VT and ordered some more! So that's another 6 months of breathing room. Take THAT, FDstupidA!

I would strongly suggest that Kat-dear-darling, ask for a group forum.... Forum as opposed to a group page. Posts will count. There are a LOT of toodle puffers and I can so see this group taking off and being a huge success!

Very interesting.......after the migration, I'll have to pick some brains that be about this on behalf of another group. Didn't realize you could do this.

but I enjoy vaping and have been tobacco free for 4 month now and I think this is why most people vape.

We don't really see it as derogatory......but wanted to say Wahooooooo!!!!!!!! WTG!!! and welcome!!!

30 more seconds and that whole end of the mobile home (where I had been sleeping!) would have been GONE, if not the entire thing.

Wow.........so glad you woke up!! Angels were lookin out for y'all girl!! Also, have been meaning to say, I remember when you had to reset your counter.........it's so wonderful to see it inchin up on that 1 year mark!!!! You go g/f!!!

I like the expediency of gas, the safety of electric. I'd much rather cook on a gas stove. But yeah been seein more and more houses totally blow up.......that stinks.

So does gas...stink but you know what? They put that smell into gas. Imagine if it didn't stink.

Ever seen a water heater with a faulty pressure relief valve shoot through a two story like an ICBM? :p
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

No never saw one, heard stories though. You do realize a series of failures would have to happen for the condition that could cause that to happen though right? At least 3 if not possibly more. First the pressure relief valve would have to somehow seal itself shut (they usually fail by opening/leaking), second the temp control (thermostat) would have to fail in the energized/gas on condition and remain in that condition. Third you would have to have piping that would be highly unusual installed, copper tubing/piping and or fittings on steel piping would generally fail relieving the pressure long before a pressure rated tank would catastrophically fail. But who knows your luck could be really bad, and all these happen to you at once. :)
