Best of luck to you @DDDWho You will find lots of support here.

I actually feel really good. Radio active dye that goes to the fasted growing cells in your body during a PET scan are negative. Before final diagnoses was made I was really scared. The surgery was very invasive and "major", lots of pain for a couple of weeks which gradually weakened. I felt like I was suffocating in a hot shower... that has stopped. All things point to total recovery. Thanks for the thoughts

The question im probably more interested in.

We all for the most part went on ecigs to wean us off analog cigs.

How many people have intentions (or no intention for that matter) of weening themselve off ecigs?

I think that's an interesting question as well, but one that needs it's own thread. I see you haven't posted much, do you know how to start a thread ?

Fifty years into a two and a half pack a day habit, I had no intention of quitting smoking. Curiosity about e-cigs was why I got an Ego kit. Flavors were why I kept using it. Reading this forum moved me quickly toward the setup I use now.

For someone who did NOT plan to ever quit smoking, what a surprise it was that vaping completely replaced my long smoking habit. Not only replaced it, but was tastier, less expensive; and got me, my car, and my house smelling better!

The hand-to-mouth motion and exhaling what looks like (but isn't) "smoke" made vaping the perfect complete replacement habit for me.

Now approaching 4 years of satisfying exclusive vaping.

Total vaper from my first puff on a Vuse. Used them for three weeks until I researched and got my first mod, an Istick 30 and a Nautilus Mini. I never intended to quit, just opened and used the Vuse because I ran out of cigs in the middle of the night. Never bought another pack or smoked another Marlboro from that night on. It's been over a year now. :)

Total vaper.

Bought my first starter kit (ego) and quit immediately.
Actually, that's not quite true - I did smoke half a cigarette the next day, but it made my head spin.
This is after 25 years of a PAD habit, and thinking that I would always be a smoker.
Truth be told, I actually got interested in vaping more as a way of 'smoking' in places where smoking was prohibited.

Once I tried it and realised 'hey, this thing actually works!' (I had tried various NRT products for the same reason), I saw it as a way out and took it.

The closest I came to dual use was carrying around my remaining cigarettes for a few days as a 'security blanket', just because there was still a nagging doubt in the back of my mind that quitting smoking could really be that easy.

Total vaper since Oct 21 2013, Then June 15 of this year my wife was diagnosed with stage 4 adeno carcinoma lung cancer. First thing I did when I got home from the doctors office was to buy cigarettes.I don't know why so I asked my doctor .He said that for forty years when a stressful situation happened that I would smoke a cigarette and I was falling back on old habits.I only smoke a couple of puffs and then feel disgusted with myself. I have increased my nicotine from 1.5 back to 3 and started building sub ohm coils. I think this is helping. It is a struggle being a caregiver but I am determined to stop the few cigs I am using. Never say never. Thanks ,Dave
I'm very sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis. Wishing you all the strength in the world to get through this. My mother died of lung cancer at 46 years old and yet, I continued to smoke. I know that disgusted feeling. Keep up the fight... you WILL win!

My Dad died of lung cancer and I too continued to smoke.
Just goes to show how serious a tobacco addiction really is.

I wonder how many dual users are simply using the wrong strength of eliquid?
My hunch is that it is almost all of them.
