If I see credible research linking an "optimal" level of nicotine to ward off Alzheimer's, or at least keep it from progressing, I will go with that

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The main reason I have no desire to eliminate nicotine. Reduce it, as my body tells me to (poor sleeping, etc.), but not eliminate it.

I figure at my age, I need all the help I can get. ;)

In order for a mere habit or dependency to be termed an addiction either legally
or medically it has to cause it has to cause serious and verifiable harm to one's
self and or others.
There not being any verifiable harm occurring to otherwise healthy vapers and
absolutely any possibility of second hand harm the use of the term addiction when
it comes to vaping is a gross over statement.

I can't use the "I like flavors". I vape unflavored anyways. I'm down to 4mg of nicotine, so I wouldn't say I'm addicted to nicotine. however I might be. I know my short fuse for my temper gets shorter if I don't vape. I'm 24, but I don't care about looking cool. I don't vape to impress anyone, I started to get rid of my smoking and dipping habit. I think if I'm addicted to anything, it's keeping my hands busy and mouth. If I'm not vaping I'm chewing gum and taping my fingers all the time.

Youngsters suck thumbs and pacifiers and may have a favorite blanket/stuffed animal for comfort. Telly Savalas was famous for having suckers in his mouth on a TV detective series. When in a stop smoking mode, people habitually gain weight because they have to have something in their mouth.....usually gum and/or hard candy. There has to be more than a "nicotine" addiction working here? :)

Don't think I'm addicted to nicotine or never had been (Qorax had quite an intresting vid bout nicotine), but the habit and how it made me feel (stress relief, havin a moment of me own) is still there, EVEN (or actually more so) with e-cigs due to less harm they cause (no nasty smell residues lingering on me clothes or car).
DIY beign cheap don't be stopping any time soon.

When I can not vape, I chew 2mg nic gum. Started at 24mg/ml had a hard time going to 20mg, an easier time going to 18mg, and a way easier time going to 12mg. I think the gear has gotten so good, that lowering nic is easier then it use to be. So, all the innovations are a grand thing. Too bad the Government thinks we need to go back to 2007.

One of the things I've found very interesting (and a subject that's been brought up a handful of times on this forum) is the decreasing "jones" for the vape.

When I was still a smoker, there were many times, regardless of the task I was involved in (other than those that occur in the boudoir and a few other locations ;)), I often found myself thinking about, planning, and looking for that next cigarette, sometimes losing focus on the task at hand.

In my current position at work, I would often start to (almost) chain smoke during high-stress times.

Now it's often a matter of "oh, hey, I haven't had a vape in a while" and I don't chain vape. Although my vaping picks up a bit when I am stressed, it's more like I will do five or six inhales and then set my APV down, rather than maintaining a white-knuckled death grip and doing my best Smaug impersonation.

Now, is this because I'm no longer inhaling the chemical cocktail of the cigarette? I think that's the reason behind it, and I'm pretty happy about it.

I feel like I'm at one of the group therapy circles lol Hi my name's rey and I'm addicted to nicotine lol but really I am. Although the cheaper stuff like the cigalikes from the gas station fix my nic needs, I still buy expensive advanced stuff not because the Vapor is cool (it is) but just because it's a hobby. Kind of like a gun enthusiast buys a lot of guns.

I am at 3mg. I vape more because I like to take a mental break and fidgit for 30 seconds. As to breakfast, I will find a replacement, maybe an expresso machine.

My next "block" of juices I purchase will be 50% 0mg nic. Just to see how it goes. The 0mg nic juices will be my very favorites, maybe that will give me satisfaction.

I will also change some of my routines. One at a time, just targets on the battlefield.

Whenever I ask people why they vape its never cause they are addicted and need the nicotine. Nobody wants to admit being an addict. Its always something else such as they like the flavors or think it looks cool.

You must be in a younger age group because I know of no vaper who quit a years long smoking habit with vaping that did for it's coolness factor. Yes the flavors were an important part of the transition for most but many vape unflavored liquids. Young non smokers are more likely to state the reasons you give.

Seeing a lot of these "are you" or "why do you" questions last couple of months and being honest I never really understood why I smoked but I know why I switched to vaping as I was recognising the damage tobacco was doing to me. Am I addicted to vaping not a clue I enjoy vaping I enjoy the benefits that I've regained from vaping and beyond that I don't give it much thought. I've always taken the view that if your either enjoying something or its something that benefits you, why ask why just enjoy it and benefit from it don't waste time analysing it life's a damn sight simpler.

Maybe I'm a bit addicted to nicotine, being that I could quit if I wanted to or had to without having my life destroyed. But I'm also ddicted to the act of inhaling something warm and tasty and exhaling smoke or vapour. Finally, the exaggeration of the anti-smoking teams and bans (I was born in 62, so I'm aware of how the world was not many years ago and before that) irritates me and makes not want to quit.

I was definitely addicted to smoking something must be in those cigs that really thrills me. I was a very heavy smoker. because of working reasons i started out with vaping with a really poor starter set two years ago. Two weeks later i quite smoking because cigs didn't taste any more. Now i like the act of vaping and i like the nicotine, but their is no more carving left. When i can't vape i don't and everything is cool to me. Can't tell you why. When i was smoking an hour without a cig i would have become an ....... to anybody.
I think I'm not addicted anymore.

Used to be because I was "addicted" but now I find it being more of a hobby. I love building all different types of coils, wicking techniques, different juices, etc... I like the fact that there are endless possibilities of setups to discover and more juices than I could ever try in a lifetime
