Net, for me I might choose to get another liter, but don't see that happening until early next year. Preparing is good, but the sky hasn't fallen (perhaps it's falling, but at government speed

)

Agreed. I was planning on getting some on Black Friday when NN has their 30% off sale (I like their V1, long-storage, small glass bottles sealed with Argon). They are expensive, but I never have to disturb the nic--no decanting, rebottling--straight into the freezer they go.

And should the sky really start falling, I'll get some more. Even if I have to drive to San Diego to pick it up myself--it's only a 1.2 hr drive. :D

But they do have other uses in real world, don't they? I have no idea myself--I only use them for my mods.
18650's are not really intended for end-user consumer use like AA's etc... They are primarily used by manufacturers in things like laptops, etc.. If manufacturers decide to move to newer, more efficient batteries like 20700/21700 and beyond, I could see a potential scenario where the 18650 could possibly be in trouble 20 years from now.

There are also multiple types of safer batteries in development that each use different materials/chemistry. One can only hope that when released, they would offer the same sizes (that would be ideal).

Oh, Pappa... We just can't catch a break, can we?
Odds are 18650's will still be around 20 years in the future, but being paranoid I am stocking up on some mods that use 20700/21700's just to be on the safe side. lol

You would think that when they come out with the new materials, they would re-use the same form factor that they have been using, just out of simplicity.

Anyone see any good deals on cheap regulated/semi-regulated Squonk mods that use 20700/21700 batteries on clearance (that I can easily locate replacement bottles for)? I already got two Vandy Vape Pulse X BF 90W Squonkers... looking to get 2 more in a different brand.

18650's are not going anywhere even in the event of a complete US vaping ban. They're used around the world in various applications besides vaping. One example is radio controlled (RC) cars/boats/drones etc.
Here's from a quick Google result.
I'm not sharing the 10/2019 article because it's focus is much different than vaping.

"What are 18650 batteries used for?

Flashlights, electronics, laptops, vaping and even electric vehicles use 18650s. The Tesla uses 7180 of these batteries. Some high lumen flashlights such as the Thrunite TN14 or Fenix PD35 use the 18650. Laptops and other electronic devices use one or more 18650’s allowing them to be recharged. They are also used in vaping (smoking) devices." <--strike through is mine

18650s are are generally Lithium Ion batteries. If you are familiar with electronics you can change out some battery packs manually, but be careful though – using the wrong type of 18650 or using it incorrectly can cause a fire."
The question about all of that is, what I mentioned before. Most of 18650's are used by manufacturers (in integrated/packaged products, not end-user replaceable). If sometime during the next 20+ years manufacturers decide to go with newer, more efficient, and much safer batteries in their laptops and countless other products, that is where a potential problem may arise. Flashlights and mods are barely a fraction of what 18650's are used for, so battery manufacturers would not care about them. If in the future newer batteries charge in 30 seconds, last longer, and the fire/explosion risk is cut by 90%, manufacturers of products like laptops, etc.. would certainly be enticed to switch to the newer technology to integrate into their products... which would leave 18650's in the dust (unless, as I mentioned, they decide to incorporate the new battery technology/chemistry into the 18650 form factor).

This has absolutely nothing to do with a vaping ban... e-cigs are not even a drop in the bucket as far as 18650 usage goes. This is about technological changes in the future, 18650's are not comparable to things like AA's in the way they are used and marketed.

EDIT: I should add: they have already developed battery chemistry that charges within 30 seconds, that last longer, and is something like 95% safer... It's just not at the mass-manufacturing stage yet.

If this is a double post, my apologies. I tried posting when ecf went down and I am too tired to search back several pages.

Anyway, the purple Luna's do not seem to be screaming purple and I was disappointed when I first got mine. Here it is:

I said I was done with waking up this early, yet here I am.

Just wait til the clocks turn back one hour this weekend. :( I woke up at four, but refused to get out of bed until 6. Because up at 4 is just way too early.

I wish we didn't either! By the time I'm all adjusted to the time change, it's time to change again.
I hear you. My sister is in Colorado so now I have to deal with it when I want to talk to her. By the time I remember its backwards or forwards it has changed again. Thank god for digital clocks with auto daylight savings.

I might have dodged a small bullet. I ordered a Dead Rabbit RTA from 3fvape in black to go with the black Vindicator mech that I also ordered, but the black rabbit had the engraved rabbit in white. I didn't see that they also had one in full black. I sent them a ticket and asked them if I could change the color from black to full black. They replied that they changed the color for me. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they hadn't changed it but that was cool of them. :headbang:

I dont even know how many outstanding orders I have. I need to figure that out today. I know I ordered to much :censored: . Now I have a million and one mods and not enough tanks.
I know what you mean, I ordered 10 accessories from Amazon the other day, things like tubing, battery wraps, etc. All 10 is coming from different vendors at different times, I am totally confused.

Well, hang in there and check the classies from time to time. You never know what will turn up.

I do have a lovely green and it is my favorite. Surprisingly, the red one is nice.
