I probably shouldn't have put it exactly that way, sorry. Outdated wasn't really the right word. I've just seen so many people in the last year or two that rush to get the higher wattage mods that I figured most people didn't want the Provari any more. They've always been great for me; they're the only mods I own.
Some of us moving to high wattage and TC over that last couple years spawned some incredible sales on the ProVari 2.5, so I am thankful many saw them as outdated! They are now the most secure part of my stockpile, while I use one all day. I also drop it at least once every day, pick it up and vape.

The deeming made ProVaris and their durability relevant again for many.

They have their place for sure and aren't for everyone.

My wife vapes exclusively around 12w, so all she uses are Provari 2.5 and P3 mods. She only likes using tube mods as she prefers the feel/look.

I am all over the place as I vape at 13w, 25w, 40w and 60w+ depending on coil resistance. I use mechs and 75-200w mods, but I always bring a Classic, P3 or Radius to work or when I travel and I generally have at least 2 Provaris loaded up on hand at any given time.

Consistant vape and they just work are two main reasons that come to mind to use Provape devices. My iSticks will be long gone before my Provaris cack.

Correct me if I am wrong but you can still buy existing Vape gear for another 2 years. I was in a panic because it seems people here beleive that on August 8th you can no longer purchase these products. I just read the deeming rules and it states Aug. 8th is the date when PMTAs need to begin being filed but companies have 2 years to comply. Am I missing something?

As other people have said, taxes will possibly kick in on 8/8/16 and in my state it's 90%. My state does not however have e-cigs specifically listed in their tobacco laws so we may get some extra time as they get that sorted out.

But I sure don't expect to get two years of free flowing vape products like we have now. I watched a video on here somewhere where an expert ( not a lawyer tho) talked about the PTMAs and how it will likely happen. They need to be approved before the two years is up and approval takes some time. Anything not approved at the two year mark goes poof. Anything that got rejected disappears from ALL store shelves regardless of whether that store applied or not and regardless of whether it is 2018. The moment it gets shot down, it is so longer for sale.

I wish I could find that video that explained it. Looked through my browser history and Youtube history and couldn't find it :(

Anyway, I don't expect shops and online stores to have alot of stock anytime near 8/2018. Maybe we get a year, but even then, not likely to be as much available as there is now.

I would also expect to see less dedication to customer service as time goes on. Knowing that your business is gone after a certain date is not conducive to good customer service.

Having owned a business, I know survival let alone success requires looking at the current and future climate and market and adjusting your strategy as needed. From an American shop and web business owners perspective, future new developments won't be allowed and most of what they sell now will likely not get approved. What remains will be heavily taxed and less attractive.

The logical step is to start preparing to shift to other products or industries, as revenue and profits will likely drop significantly. I would keep much shorter stock levels so I don't get stuck with things I can't sell. I would strongly consider whether renewing my lease makes sense. I would not borrow money to support a declining business. I wouldn't hire or invest much toward growth as it is not a safe choice.

if the deeming regs play out as written, even if the deeming date is moved forward, growing an ecig business is now a total crap shoot. How soon American businesses choose to exit is the question.

My answer is to be stocked up now, while prices and availability are to my advantage.

As I understand it if you have filed by the 2 year mark you would actually be allowed another year to continue selling but I understand why people are nervous.
Sorry to have hijacked the thread.

With the rigorous paperwork, the absurd application fees and no guarantees that the product applied for will be approved, the question that keeps coming up in my mind is: who will file?

No apologies needed - I think your question is totally relevant to this thread. Without understanding the reasoning behind stocking up, it could be considered foolish or paranoid. After the initial shock in May, I suspect many have become complacent, aided by those in the industry that say "Don't worry" without a basis.

If I remember correctly and I am not going to wade through those 499 pages again...they said if pw is filed, you MAY be granted an additional year. May is the operative word and I am not placing any bets on the FDA/MAY.

Since I have only ever used 510 attys to vape, I feel like I've missed out on a lot of vaping "history". I've been looking over older tech that might be of interest to me and made some purchases, eg. Provari 2.5, Kayfun Lite Plus V2, and some older RDAs, and so now I feel I have some historical pieces, so to speak. I am intrigued now by Carto Tanks. I love the way they look, but I'm unsure if they would suit me- but then, I've been unsure about all my purchases so far.

Would a 510 atty lover enjoy cartos? I'm thinking they might be good for the Provaris.

I still drip on 510 attys at times and enjoy that moist flavor just as I did to start. I reconsidered cartos and used one a couple weeks ago and was not satisfied. I'd suggest just getting a pack and seeing what you think before investing in a bunch. They may be great for you, but without knowing if it fits your style, better to take a baby step first.

Ok so I thought I was done stocking up (famous last words around here I know). I hadn't been interested in Provaris because I usually vape .3-.5 ohm at 25 watts. But until the other day I forgot about the Radius. I understand everyone likes different things but do you guys think I would enjoy the Radius enough to justify its hefty pricetag? I do understand quality and peace of mind and that sometimes it's really worth the extra money.

    Thank you all

I am a 510 gal and love cartos w/tank. Never liked just using a cartomizer by itself.

I used to use the Straw mod with my attys- do you recall it? At any rate, atty cartridges unmodded had filler that you kept wet with e-liquid and wicked the liquid to the atty bridge. I'm wondering if cartos might have a similar feel/taste.

I've been using the little shorty 510 attys for doing the 100DT when I make a new recipe. Started using them when my JoyeTech 510 double starter kit came with them. Have probably more than any 1 person should have (long story why, but I didn't order/buy as many as I have now). I also use the JoyeTech Mega Cone Shaped attys for the same taste testing, and I like them, too. Sometimes just use them, too, when I want a real true flavor from my liquids, maybe while sitting at my PC.

I tried cartos for a short while about 2 years ago, and wasn't highly impressed by them. However, if/when push comes to shove...I could use them to continue vaping once other supplies are depleted.

I've ordered 2 different kinds of carto tanks to use with them. There's 1 kind that you can use only the cartos with a flange (DCT plate) on them. Those are the ones I posted about just a day or 2 ago. They're $1.00 now at DFW, and are called UDCT Tanks by Smok. They come in a version 1 and version 2...different sized tanks.

The other tank I've bought...can take only cartos without the flange on them, and comes with 2 different sized tanks, so you can use 35mm and 45mm cartos. It's a neat, specially-made tank for those kind of cartos. It was $9.99 on sale, and is called a UD - Youde AGR Cartomizer Tank. Got mine at 2vaped online. Haven't tried it yet (just got it yesterday), but did try various cartos in it to check for fit. You cannot use the black cartos in it though, only the SS ones. The black wrap makes the carto just barely too big to fit in the tank.

I hope that info. helps you.
