The plan is to block off 2 of the 4 holes. Block off 2 opposing holes, and use the remaining 2 opposing (open holes) to wick the horizontal coil.

Oh right. I forgot that the nautilus coils have 4 wick holes, not just 2.

Reluctantly showing my age.....but, I remember paying .27 a pack for Winston's when I was about 13. I remember giving the small corner grocery store clerk a quarter and a nickel, and getting three pennies back.
    .25 cents when I was 12.

When I was 12 I was stealing my mom's cigs. I gave that u when a group of girls said they wouldn't let me in their clique because I smoked.
I STARTED because a group of girls laughed at me because I didn’t smoke. I’m sure I was the only one still smoking 45 years later

Something I've used frequently to plug the center pin hole in 510 extenders is jb weld. When set it's food safe and can handle temps up to 550F. I've also used it to lock the vapefly galaxies rdta side air screws in the open position, a tiny dab once they've been unscrewed to open the ports.

They also make a high heat version, but I've never run across a need for it.

JB weld was first choice to close 2 holes in zenith coilhead sat for several days and tried it imparted a taste although it did work fine just i could small it and it had that foul taste
Emptied tank washed it let it sit for a whole month no doubt its was fully cured and same taste, in mean time decided to make another using stainless screws with head of screw filed off even and it tasted normal .

And why are we closing off two holes?

I wonder if it hadn't been mixed thoroughly. I'm careful to make sure the thing I'm plugging is clean and dry, and mix it well, but that's all.

I've been using it for 9 years on vaping items. Not in direct contact with a coil, of course, but inside the galaxies is a hot area and I never have any off taste.

As long as you found something that works for you, that's what matters.

Closed because otherwise too much fluid was making it flood and gurgle once those were closed it worked fine.

I tried rebuilding Nautilus coils. Drilled out 2 holes and put in a horizontal coil. I tried several different methods of closing off the other 2 holes but none of them worked. The tolerance is very tight with the Nautilus. I never thought of using screws. I might give that a shot. I have some allen head grub screws for KFL air holes, it they are the right size they might work without even having to grind off the heads.

    I love JB weld, but I don't think it's food-safe. It's non-toxic, but JB Weld's website says...

    Is JB Weld toxic?
When fully cured, J-B Weld is non-toxic. However, we do not recommend consuming the product.

I did the same on an oil pan for my then girl friend's Chevy Vega. The most durable thing on the Vega was the JB Weld, it never got to 75K miles.

I had 2 Vegas. A 72 GT & 77 Wagon. The 72 had 140k on it when I sold it. I tried to get around a full school bus, by using the right lane, off a light. The full bus whupped me good. Talk about shame.

The 77 had over 180k on it, when I finally had to call Capt'n Hook to haul it off to the junk yard. Still ran like a top though. The rust got it.
