I would be bouncing off the walls if I had coffee after noon-ish. I use to be able to drink coffee 24/24 but not anymore. I can still smell the coffee in my kitchen. :)
I can drink a pot and immediately go to sleep. I know it's weird but it's how I'm built.

they only want theraputics that make them a bunch of cash, hence the downplay of HCQ
I don't know what HCQ is but my guess is they want to control the dosage and that's hard to do with smoking and vaping. Even gum and lozenges don't give you the same controlled dosage all day. Also all those besides patches are hard to administer in a hospital setting to all patients some of which maybe comatose.

I guess if nicotine really works that will show up in the numbers eventually. If smokers and vapers are underrepresented then we would know, whatever the hospital research shows. They probably aren't collecting stats on whether people who get sick are smokers or vapers, at least in the US. There isn't a standard format for collecting stats. Every State and every hospital does it differently. But somewhere in the world they must be doing it.

They would be in a bit of a pickle if it turned out nicotine was really doing the job. To make a profit on it they would have to give their pharma version a monopoly. They could shut down vaping but not cigs. Since the pharma version would be outrageously expensive a lot of people would likely start smoking. What a dilemma for them. They would probably prefer to keep a lid on it until they come up with something else that actually works, like a vaccine or a treatment.

I drink a mug of coffee on the way to work and a pot during the day. I don’t always have some at night. I’ll usually have a diet mt dew at night after work. I sleep like a rock.

I think there is a standard set forth by the CDC in collecting data in the US. I don't know if they ask about smoking/vaping habits but some general demographics are collected.

I got a China order today, made 3/9... bits and bobs plus a caliburn rebuild kit that I didn’t order. And I don’t have a caliburn lol. This was the order that got returned 3 times for “security”. They must repack it every time. Only one label on it.

They used super secret "xrays" on it to examine the contents.

I was thinking about the collection of race data. Early on some places recorded the race of patients and others didn't. Some collected it but didn't pass it forward. Maybe there is a national standard now. I guess everyone was winging it when this got started. They had more urgent matters on their plate than gathering data.

It could be that nicotine affects blood clotting ability & that is helping Covid patients too. Blood clots are killing many with Covid and nicotine disrupts clotting ability. Alkaloids of Tobacco and Blood Coagulation: Effect of Nicotine on Thrombin and Fibrinogen - PubMed
Early on, they thought nicotine and covid both needed to attach to the same receptors in the lungs. With nic on board, there was no “parking spot” for the virus. But, I haven’t looked up recent studies/trials to see what the data is showing

Close, nic is thought to downregulate the receptors that the coronavirus attaches to, so that there are fewer parking spots in total. Trouble is I read an article, with references, that stated that nic upregulates the receptors. So it'll be interesting to see the results of this French study. I sure wish somebody would look at the rates of covid19 in vapers.
