Are you done stocking up?

My stocking plan assumed a mod should last 2 years of continuous service

This is where I'm at also. Quitting the cigs was a priority however I begin to doubt my stash. I started with 8 mods and 6 RTA's thinking I should be ok. Now I'm at 15 mods and 13 RTA's...surely that should be enough...yes? I can get a couple more of both...I just don't want to be knee deep in stuff. I have plenty of nic etc..

My last shipment of nicotine from Carolina Xtract is stuck in transit somewhere on the east coast for 6 days now. Not the best time of year to be sitting in a truck somewhere. Hopefully quality won't be affected too much.

Not sure if I should open it up and test it or wait the 20 years or so until I actually need it and hope for the best...

EDIT: I received this response from Carolina Xtract:

"Almost all the other nicotine products out there were exposed to 152F in their manufacture whereas our is created in a cold process. Temperatures below 120F typically do not affect the nicotine portion of the product, so everything should be fine."

I was thinking more along the lines of flat rate boxes that fit up to five bottles sent priority with tracking...

When (and if) the new regs start even what you describe would be illegal if your charging money. My hunch is enforcement people are not going to bother with personal amounts for personal use for no money between people who are not in the business will be ignored. I suspect the same will be true for personal off shore mail order stuff but time will tell. Don't move a lot of stuff around and don't do it commercially.

Nicotine has to be a somewhat robust material. It's natural environment is out in the open exposed to the elements. Tobacco crop residue can concentrate in field drains sufficient to kill insects. I've smoked 10 year old cigars after the humidity was restored. They were fine. Your supplier is likely right. Never the less I'm storing my nic in glass bottles in the freezer.

Russia & Saudi Arabia fighting over oil details

USA & China about tariffs etc.. New players join the fued.
FedEx joins DHL, temporarily suspends Chinese import shipments to India

Translation: if you need something now is the time to buy it. I had fewer choices for computer monitor. I still have my old ones as they can be repaired.

Mind you.. I talking need over wants.

I think that this link should work. Can be downloaded and saved to computer or Google drive. Made this for elsewhere. Fill in the green (mg/ml, ml/day, how many litres of 100 and 200mg you have) and orange cells will say your years worth.

Could be more user friendly. But it works.

Sure, but the nicotine in those cigars isn't freebase, in liquid form. It's chemically bound to other molecules (organic acids?) forming salts that are more stable.

Dehydrated, powdered milk will last pretty much forever too right?

Seems like anything is possible. I'm doing what feels like the most protective and practical approach. May be it's more than necessary, may be less. Most of us agree with, keep in glass, in darkness, and below freezing. Currently I'm vaping 4 year old nic. Sofarsogood.

Back when I started and tanks weren't invented i had a 1liter 72mg white can from inawera, it lasted about 3 years because of the small vaporizers with tiny batteries, but towards the end it started tasting a lot more like old cigars and went kinda yellow, smelled a little bit like ashtray (yuck)
since sunlight couldn't penetrate the can and i stored it on the top kitchen shelf i'm pretty sure it does break down when exposed to oxygen at living-room temperature and the breakdown products are cigarette-like in taste but the effect of it doesn't diminish much.

So dark, cold, air tight, but I don't think nic is highly fragile.

I met a couple (about 25 year olds) who were both vaping on disposable systems. They were never smokers. The guy had been using mods and tanks and switched. He was a bit "off". I had the feeling nic is medicinal for him. The greedy politicians need to tread carefully.

Indeed.

A lot of things were known (or suspected and investigated) about nicotine for years.

Researchers Investigate (Horrors!) Nicotine's Potential Benefits

And this--my favorite--the "happiness quotient":

In New Calculus on Smoking, It’s Health Gained vs. Pleasure Lost

"WASHINGTON Rarely has the concept of happiness caused so much consternation in public health circles.

Buried deep in the federal government's voluminous new tobacco regulations is a little-known cost-benefit calculation that public health experts see as potentially poisonous: the happiness quotient. It assumes that the benefits from reducing smoking -fewer early deaths and diseases of the lungs and heart - have to be discounted by 70 percent to offset the loss in pleasure that smokers suffer when they give up their habit.

Experts say that calculation wipes out most of the economic benefits from the regulations and could make them far more vulnerable to legal challenges from the tobacco industry. And it could have a perverse effect, experts said. The more successful regulators are at reducing smoking, the more it hurts them in the final economic accounting."

Interesting. I guess I never really considered a medical application for nicotine. Thanks for the information.

I tried to lower my nic a few years back and my pain management routine suddenly wasn't effective anymore. I had a choice between more medication or staying on nicotine. I opted to stay on the nicotine, with my doctor's blessing. We both thought it was better than getting addicted to something new.

It may even help with Covid-19. ;)

Israeli study points to nicotine as a potential therapeutic for COVID-19

"Smoking may offer some protection against the coronavirus, an Israeli study has found. The results support recent similar findings by researchers in France, China and Italy, although a British study has found the opposite."

Nicotine can help fight coronavirus at its most lethal stage, Spain study finds

US researchers are not interested because, you know, nicotine is evil.
