You know, I'm having a crisis of worry.. All my life I have been able to go to a restaurant and go home, and within three tries recreate the dish I ate identically. It usually freaks people out I am so good at it. But I have never done it since I started vaping, and now that I will be diy'ing I'm worried I won't be able to do that with my juice.

I have favorites at this point, ones that will no longer be sold.. so I am really hoping I will be able to do this still.. I don't know why I am so scared, my taste buds even when I was smoking are better than most people's.. but oddly, I have fear.

Lol.. I guess doing it the first time will settle my worries, but I'm still worried. Hoping this is normal.

My last package comes today.. then I have a purchase (from the most wonderful person ever) in another week and two days.. then comes prove it time.. :) lol.. I hope I can prove it to myself! I'll be so unhappy otherwise!

Many of us, including me, never DIY'd full time. There is going to be some trial and error. Start simple. Get something to vape. Then take it from there.

Put any major flavors in to google with the word "clone." I think you will be surprised at how many clones there are out there. I've saved many recipes that I can order flavors for.

Repeat ability is easier if you note what flavors, and how many grams weight you dropped in to the mix on a scale.

My vape stock action plan in my signature below has tips on DIY, and there is an entire DIY section here on ECF to ask for help too. We're going to help each other.
You both are going to be so surprised at how easy it is to DIY.

Here is a good thread on DIY in the ecf forum. Tells you all you need to know and then some..lol

If anyone likes tobacco flavors (not the ashy kind) then buy Hangsen concentrates. There is nothing easier and better out there. 4-6% flavor standalone works magically. It's all I vape but isn't for everyone of course. My wife has completely gravitated away from desserts/bakery etc and only vapes Hangsen tobaccos now. I never thought that would happen either.

Most of the flavors have a bit of sweetness on their own and taste pretty much like fresh tobacco leaves smell. Very pleasant if you like that sort of thing. You can mix additives like a touch of vanilla or caramel or whatever and make a nice dessert tobacco vape with simple ease.

Other vendors like Capellas and Flavor West have great bakery or dessert flavors that work well alone. Vanilla Cupcake and Apple Pie work great without being complicated. The trick to DIY is to get 1 recipe down right away. That way you always have something you can mix, vape, and enjoy while you are working on your next one. Definitely do not try to do a complicated 4+ flavor mix out of the gate. Too much tweaking and variables to get it down. It really doesn't have to be complicated to DIY juice that you like more than pre-mix. I personally always found pre-mix way too sweet or over flavored. It's one of the primary reasons I started doing my own thing.

If you like to cook, you are going to LOVE DIY juice! Once you get going, you may not even want your cloned juices anymore. It's so nice to be able to have everything just the way you like it. I can't even imagine going back to pre-made. I've made some juice I wasn't crazy about, but I've always been able to doctor it up to make it into something good. Sometimes I will dilute it by half and then add some other flavors to it if it's not going the way I want. I've come up with some pretty tasty recipes that way. You're going to be just fine.

I agree. Lots of vendors have flavor blends that they sell also. A really popular one is onestopdiyshop. They have flavors like baked cinn role and blue raz slushy and lucky shot that are already blended and all you do is add your nic and pg/vg. Lots of members rave about them, me included.
Another one is ecigexpress.
These are also good to start off with because they are easy and taste great.

I'm ready to go...waiting for another 2 weeks to pay down CC to buy scale. I always just used drops for a few simple DIYs, but I'm going full PRO! :D

Don't sweat it. I overthought DIY and bought way too many flavors in 2013. And tried waaay too many things at once. I quickly realized that less is more and simple is excellent.

There are so many clone recipes and easy 1-2 flavor mixes that you have nothing to fear. Is there a learning curve? Yes, but no more difficult that getting a cookie recipe right. Once you have one down then move on to the next. I absolutely love the freedom of DIY. You know exactly what is in each mix because you control 100% of what goes in. I only vape a total of 4-5 flavors nowadays. I stopped experimenting quite a while ago. Once I had a handful down for each person I mix for, none of them has wanted anything else. It's become robotic and simple. I mixed nearly 2 liters yesterday in less than 2 hours. We all have a 6 month supply of stuff we always like. Easy peasy.
I have also found simple is best, I really like my DIY now.

Can I get an AMEN!! I rebuilt those for almost TWO years.
(slow learner/resistant to change)

Yes they are, and I'm soooo glad to have had the experience/practice with them!! It's made the transition to any of the small RBA's pretty much a breeze.
That was what I started out rebuilding on! I rebuilt them for a long time, then moved on to STMs.

I have a fassteck order that has shown this exact status since July 10. I wonder now if I'll ever see the order, luckily it's just some bell caps for Subtank minis that I wanted to try out, no biggie, but it sure doesn't feel right if they are jumping the gun on inspecting incoming goods before the actual deeming date. To be honest I really don't know what's going on with the shipment, but I've never seen a parcel sit that long without movement...
Update, I contacted Fastteck and they replied that they would submit an inquiry for the package, and would then refund or re-ship the items depending on what they hear back. I really didn't want any international vape shipments heading my way after 8/8, guess it is what it is though.

Have you checked on the USPS site too? I was checking on my orders and had different info on eBay tracking and USPS, more info on USPS tracking.

Vape Mail! I love my Serpent Minis on my Pico, but wanted to try the Moonshot, so I ordered one of those. I use RDAs for testing juices I DIY, so I got the Sig-Ss for $2.50 each and the IGO W7 for $3. :) (All from Vapor Range)

Yup, usps site shows no movement since July 10. It left China and has yet to be scanned stateside. It's only a few Bell caps and it's not like I needed them, just found it curious that this is the first time I've ever had a shipment not clear customs within a few days or so. make of that what you will...

The coil in my Diver has been in there a year. And because I don't use it a lot, the cotton & coil isn't all gunked up. :D

Gosh, I seriously think I could do one of those in my sleep.
I have not tried the STM's. That's Kanger, right?

When those came out, I didn't know that was a rebuildable carto.
That will probably go down as one of the things I should have gotten. :(
That or the other one, can't remember the name of it. I know at one time Stormy loved those too, I think...

Cool, thanks for the encouraging support. Yes, I have been thinking about going with a few flavors that I find enjoyable as ADV's, and just getting those right.

There is one particular flavor after that, that I have tried from a couple people, but they didn't get the flavor right. Because it's like my favorite thing in the world, I do plan on someday making that, and getting it right. But I figure that's future.

Many of us, including me, never DIY'd full time. There is going to be some trial and error. Start simple. Get something to vape. Then take it from there.

I don't see myself as ever getting into tobacco flavors honestly, I'm a foodie in general, and various food flavors is probably what I love most about vaping. It keeps me out of the kitchen so much.. I have actually lost a little weight, since I can just vape instead of having to bake to satisfy a sweet tooth or a craving. Totally nice.

My husband is not happy about it, he came home yesterday and said it smells like cake, and I said I'm vaping, and he said, "that is just wrong, it's false advertising".. lol..

I'm making him a cake tomorrow so he won't feel cheated.. hahaha
