I met an old friend last week and he was vaping. Just started. He had gone to the vape shop to pick the gear up. Apparently he knew the owners.

The other was a Melo tank with a Pico. He said he never used it because it vaped so hot. I looked the Melo up and he probably had a 0.5 ohm coil. I didn't get a chance to check out the power settings it was set to because he had to take off.

He didn't know anything about the upcoming regs so I got him up to date. I'm going to get together with him again soon and check out his Melo, see if I can fix the heat problem. I also suggested he get some nic and look into stocking up. I don't think the Volcano heads can be rebuilt. Don't know about the Melo. I'll do some research. If anyone here is familiar with the Melo I would appreciate any info, or links to info. Haven't found much on ECF yet.

One of the things I like about the Melo 3 is that a lot of different brands of coils will work in it. Examples: Melo, Atlantis, Tritons, Ccells, Eleaf Ijust, Herkales to name a few. The Melo 3 certainly isn't the greatest tank out there but IMO it does a good job for a beginner that's not ready for rebuilding yet OR for someone that doesn't/or can't rebuild all the time. It can be used for sub ohm or MTL depending on which coils you choose to use.

I've had mine for several months and used it quite a bit. I like the top fill and so far no problems with leaking. Flavors not great IMO but it is good.

I liked it well enough to make it one of my "old age" when I can't rebuild anymore tanks for down the road. I got lucky and found 200 coils for less then $40.00 a couple months :).

I am right there with you. Just starting to wrap and build my own coils now so I have loads of factory made coils.

Have you tried eleaf's Lemo 3? I picked one up and love it. You can use either premade coils and it also comes with an rta deck. So I grabbed a couple more. I am sure they are not the greatest topper out there but if a first timer like me can make coils and have a successful vape then you know it is not hard to build on.

I also just tried the ec coil for the melo 3 and it fits altho I didn't add ejuice or vape on it. When I looked earlier for the lemo coils I read that the Ijust coils fit it also.

Just thought I'd pass that info on.

Congrats on your foray into building. I wish more would.

I haven't tried the Lemo 3 and most likely won't although if something changes I'll keep your recommendation in mind. I like the fact that it comes with a rta deck. :) I was all set with tanks and I hadn't planned to try the Melo3 but since it came with one of my Pico's I had to try it since I owned it. ;):D My favorite tanks are the Aromamizer and Supreme both by Steam Crave both of which I build coils for. IMO it's just a good idea to have a tank with factory coils (if one can find them cheap enough) if for any reason you can't build your own coils in the future. My other factory coil tank is my PT2.

There are a couple RBA's that will fit the Melo 3.
If you can remember which ones I would appreciate it. thx. I know sometimes I see things on vendor sites and think, oh I have to remember that, and when I try to remember where I saw it, I get nothing. lol. Not sure if it is overload of life that causes that or what. Probably just getting senile...:)(gawd, I hope not)

Hey, I bought those XTank 4 coils too but got my Melo 3 tank just today. Obviously tried that coil and it's not firing - "Check atomizer". Checked the coil with multimeter and got 0.6 Ohm readings so the coil is good.

The only culprit I can come up with would be that coil is somewhat short and not touching the bottom of the Melo base part.

Grandmato, any suggestions?

I spent a whopping $11 this week at FT.... 2 Griffin parts kits, 3 Griffin replacement glass tanks and 100 premade 0.5ohm 24ga kanthal coils.

Re: the coils.... just over $0.05 each for a very well reviewed 100 pack of coils in the resistance I use in my Subtank Minis is a no brainer. I have well over 1000 feet of wire, but I can't make a coil for $0.05!

My spending has slowed down considerably. I am now just buying when things are so cheap, it makes sense to add to the stockpile. Even then, my buying days are coming to an end as I have so much gear.

Stocking up on what exactley? I now have a Rose 3 for use, and one sealed factory new in the back of my cupboard,
As i said in my post spare parts. Stocking up for two reasons.Fast tech is famous for stopping production of spares if they are no longer popular and for whatever the new regulations in the USA may bring along.Either way i am now covered for my favorite tank, the Kayfun V5 for a very long time.

How is the Kayfun V5? I was a huge fan of the mini v3, but i feel the tilemahos v2+ destroys it in flavour, imo...

I never tried the Tilemahos v2 or a mini v3 but i love the Kayfun v5.Amazing flavor, ease of build and simple top fill.Never had a leak on any of mine and with all the spare parts available, fully serviceable.I also love the capacity,4 ml with glass,5 ml with the spare steel tank or 6 ml with the authentic barrel tank. They are all i use now.

It really does look beautiful... i would already have one if i didn't see so many neg comments about the airflow, but i don't like tight draws anyway, i prefer airy...

I only MTL and find the airflow fine.I bought the MTL kit and i use it in one of mine but i do not bother with the other two in rotation.I have no idea why people find it too airy.
