I also found some nic buried in my wife's big freezer that I'd forgotten I had. A bit over 2.5 years old, in the original #1 plastic from WL. At first I figured it was probably ruined, but I mixed up a batch using one of the four 120ml bottles and it was colorless and tastes fine. So I decided to leave the other 3 unopened as an experiment and I intend to use one ever once in a while to see how it does.

However, a couple of years isn't a couple of decades, and #1 plastic isn't #2 plastic. My understanding is that #2 is considerably more permeable to oxygen than #1, and of course the permeability of glass is effectively zero, which is why it's the storage medium of choice for those of us who are planning for decades.

If I were worried about glass breakage, I'd consider buying a case of some kind of stainless steel bottles. That would probably be the best combination of characteristics; earthquake proof, completely impermeable, and won't leach any chemicals. The only catch is the expense.

If you stored nic in Stainless Steel or aluminium i would fully support it. I just think #1 or #2 plastic is a darn site better than glass when considering plastic is lighter than glass. Plastic is thinner than glass, and plastic bounces back when bumped or dropped.

I will admit that glass container is less permeable than glass but even glass is not ZERO as you claimed because air can get in around tge lid.

But the only way I would use glass is if i had it in a sturdy box with padding to keep the glass bottles from clinking

I did the same thing. I have a small dedicated nic freezer that's packed. I bought 2 more liters on a sale and shoved them in the bottom of my food freezer. I was counting up nic supplies one day to do a calculation on how long it would last and checked the food freezer to make sure I had 2 liters in there and there were 3.
Thats a good problem to have. Congrats.

They are amber. I could get a small fridge and put it in my craft room which has a lock on the door. I have a toddler so I am very uneasy about putting it in the general freezer or the fridge
Hope you ordered polycone caps for your bottles...

Again; pretty much over thinking a virtually non existent problem.
When stored in a freezer there are very few actual problems to worry about.
There is plenty of oxygen in a half full bottle. If the nicotine had much ability to oxidize in a freezer it would have done so in that 6 year old bottle I mentioned earlier.
I would worry more about the number of times we warm up & open a container of nic base.
What i did when i used nic was break a liter inti 240 ml #1 plastic bottles. When i emptied tge bottle i was working from Ir was tossed in the trash and pulled another bottle from the freezr about 90 minutes before making the next batch of ejuice.

I got my plastic bottles from Granger.

All of my e-liquid ingredients are stored in glass. If it comes to me in plastic it gets transferred to glass with poli-cone lids. I even transferred all of my flavorings and my pg/vg to glass. Glass is forever if handled carefully. I don't have any crumb snatchers or elderly folks (except me) here so the chances of anyone breaking anything is nil. My freezer nic is in glass, wrapped in aluminum foil and then in bubble wrap. It is then sealed in vacuum seal bags and stored in boxes in the bottom of my freezer.

We each have to do whatever we are comfortable with. Just because I do it this way it doesn't mean everyone has to do it the same way. If one is comfortable with plastic then that is what they should do but just because that person is comfortable with it doesn't mean everyone else should do it their way. JMHO

Sorry to beat the proverbial dead horse, but I need to have this crystal clear: I can get devices for sure until aug 2018, but nicotine procurement could cease any day?
State regulations can come at anytime. That's why signing up with CASSA is so important.

Imports can be stopped via credit cards and payment processors. Not everyone wants to get into bit coins and even then they've got scanning methods. Many chinese exporters won't deal with it. FT has a long list of countries they won't ship ecigs to, including Mexico where it's still a grey area but too many pkgs get returned. Sux. They are treating vaporizers like drugs.

Curious: Have you ever found it to be significantly off?
Nope

99.5 - 100.5

Ish...

But there was that report of a vendor sending 250mg instead of 100mg before I was a member.

I have a magnetic mixer and a small erlenmeyer flask I painted white and left a clear strip in.

So a QC check takes a minute or two, very little effort and maybe 3ml of nic base out of every 1000ml.

And then I know for sure barring any miscalculations, my mixes are accurate.

That vendor (Box Elder), which was about 20 miles up the road from me, has been out of business for several years now.

    I get that.

    Point was humans make mistakes.

    No harm in double checking.

If the industry doesn't crumble, someone else will screw up eventually.

Vapes is their um, second name so they will probably come with correct caps :thumb:

Heartland also ships their nic in a nicely shaped rectangular black opaque #2 plastic bottle. The shape makes it easy to stuff in the freezer until getting around to transferring to glass should you choose to do that. I keep saying I will but still haven't gotten to it other than the first liter broken down to smaller bottles so I don't have to take out a large amount to get some for mixing.
