I have switched (for the time being) from kantal to ss building
I just recently just discovered SS and loving the vape. In TC along its becoming a much better vape than kanthal. I'm now with playing with power curves in ArcticFox for both kanthal and SS and I've improved the kanthal clapton by boosting the watts for a moment to ramp up the clapton faster.
I like the SS claptons spaced
Spaced claptons are pretty well all I(we) vape. I build a 28/32 spaced 1.4ohm kanthal clapton for my wife and now she refuses single wire builds. All I have is 24 and 26 SS for now and got some 28SS and 250' rolls 34 both SS and kanthal on order from lighteningvapes in EBay.
I would use claptons, but don't know what kind I should get for MTL vaping
I've been making the 28/32 kanthal claptons in a subtank mini, they been coming out between 1.2 and 1.6 ohms. That's what I take to work so they fire the provari. As long as you allow some ramp up time the claptons work great. My idea of MTL is learning not to inhale every vape. I take the monster cloud and just mouth it, need a nic fix then smaller vape so I can inhale. I'm not a high wattage vaper by any means, 12-40 is my range and now using SS, TC and power curves my clapton vape quality has improved. Looking forward to building a 28/34 SS claptons when my wire shows up.
What temp. do you set that at?
My SS temp is 370-400F but mostly hang around 380.
I'm also removing wraps from the set screw and it seems to be working. They say the wraps shifting may loosen screws, give inconsistent TC readings and may cause the resistance to fluctuate. The wraps just transfer heat and don't record in TC, just the core wire registers, wraps aren't needed so why have them.
