So if I was going to squeeze a couple cheap mech mods onto my card... what would you guys suggest? Saw what looked like a good one in here earlier but someone said the sites security was suspect.

I see these things going for $10-$15 all the time and the only reason I never pick one up is because I don't know what's good for that price and what is still trash.
This....

$8.85 Nemesis Styled Stainless Steel Mechanical Mod (Nemesis, SS, Silver - C) at m.FastTech.com

I have an authentic Nemesis that cost 15x more and this mod is excellent for under $9. Not as good as the authentic, but who cares? I liked mine so much, I ordered 2 more.

Quality mod for stupid cheap.

I started over two years ago ;) When the deeming was finally released, I planned on being ably to comfortably keep doing what I am doing, in the same manner and enjoyment level as I have become accustomed to. I can easily do that right now for at least 5-6 years without a hiccup.

I've spent some time pondering all of this, and the thought has crossed my mind that perhaps without the hobby side of it, maybe I'll eventually become disinterested in vaping, three years in now and I can keep going for twice as long as I have till present. At 9 years will I still want or even need to vape? I don't know, even if at some point I do walk away from it, I won't regret a penny of the money spent, because I still have not reached what I was literally burning at the rate I was smoking. It's water over the dam, vaping for me is quite literally a free ride from this point on. A picture of this guy comes to mind when I think about the FDA

:lol::lol::laugh:

I had the same thoughts. I vape not to smoke. The money I have spent on stocking up is a sunk cost. I do want to quit vaping but it will be on my terms and timeline. It might be 5 years or it might be 25. I don't care either way. I have prepared myself for as many possible outcomes as I can. Can't prepare for everything.

I think you will be just under 12mg/ml no matter what you do if you start w 12mg/ml due to liquids being added that are not at 12mg/ml.
Thanks Tommy. I got that part. This post explains completely the problem I was having...

Some flavors are stronger than others. TFA flavors are often used at 5-15% as single flavors, and I've seen recipes with several flavors totaling 30% or more altogether.

Yeah, you might have a hard time with a calculator, with what you've got. You're going to have to "trick" it into giving you recipes that only take nic base and flavoring, by asking it for only very specific things some of which you'll have to work out by hand. Say you want to make a recipe with 14% flavoring (say for example, 6% Strawberry, and 8% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream*.) You plug in your recipe and your nic base (12mg 100VG 0PG) into the calculator. It asks what your target strength/ratio are. You tell it something like 6mg, 50VG 50 PG. It's going to tell you to add PG. Well you don't have any PG. How about you tell it 100VG 0PG as your target. Well, that's not going to work either, since the flavors have some PG in them, and most calculators just treat them as PG. If you ask it for 100% VG, it's going to tell you to put negative PG in the mix. How you gonna do that? So you know that since you have 14% flavoring, you have to have at least 14% PG in the mix. And you don't want to add any MORE PG, so you want to have EXACTLY 14%. Okay, so you ask it for a target of 6mg 86VG 14PG. Now it tells you to add VG. Because in order to cut your 12mg down to 6, you need to dilute it by half, or 50%. But your mix only calls for 14% flavors, so with 14% flavor and 50% nic base, you still need another 36% to fill it out. So the calculator is asking for straight VG (since you told it not to use any more PG than what was already in the flavors) to fill that 36%. Okay, so what happens if you dilute 12mg by 14%? 86% of 12 is 0.86 * 12 = 10.32. Okay, so if you take your 12mg nic base, and add ONLY 14% flavors to it, then you'll end up with 86%VG, 14%PG, and whatever 86% of 12mg is, which is 10.32. So finally, if you ask the calculator for a target of 10.32mg, 86%VG, and 14%PG, and you enter the recipe as 6% Strawberry and 8% VBIC, then it will give you a recipe with only nic base and flavorings. But at this point it might have been easier just to pull out some scratch paper and do it the old-fashioned way. 6% of 30ml, for example, is 1.8ml Strawberry flavor. 8% is 2.4ml VBIC. Add those together (4.2ml) and subtract from 30 (25.8) gives you the remaining amount of nic base you'll need. The nic strength, since you didn't buy any plain PG or VG, you don't get to decide, it just "is what it is" depending on how much flavor you add. It'll be something less than 12mg, how much less depends on how much flavor you used. In this case, we already learned earlier that it's 10.32 mg/ml since 14% flavor means 86% nic base, and so 86% of 12mg.

*edit: not my recipe, but one I found on .................... that I tried recently, simple to make and came out tasting pretty good even with only two flavors.

*edit edit: we can't say e-hyphen-liquid-hyphen-recipes(dot)com here? Bitter admin rivalry? What'd he do, kick your dog? Kiss your girl? Kick your girl and kiss your dog?

ENAUD and you have stated it fairly well, but I'll state it another way. I lost my job in March, so my vape prepping was an agonizing process, until I realized that if my GF and I were still smoking, we would have spent twice as much, and would have 2 packs of cigs and a few Bic lighters to show for it. Instead, we should be set for at least 5-7 more years.

Sorry to hear.

I've been through a lot, but I'm currently blessed. A couple raises, a bonus and the boss just bought me a new truck to keep me. All in a couple months.

It's been a real turn around.

Hang in there. It gets better. And once you're in the position to do so, accept nothing less than you're worth.

Good luck.

Thanks Beck, I'll be fine. I was just a few years from retirement anyway, and I was RIFed. I can survive even if I never work again, but it's not the way I wanted to end 33 years with the same company. Not working makes me physically and mentally unhealthy, so I will do something, but no sense in jumping the gun before my unemployment runs out. LOL. I have alot of irons in the fire, and eventually, if I still want to do it, if I get the right offer, and they're OK with me vaping, I will start a new career.

After giving 33 years to the same company, you should have been giving the opportunity to leave on your terms. Nevertheless, it is not healthy thinking about it. I learned this approach, i.e. forward thinking, from my wife who went through a very difficult period in her life when her scumbag of a father abandoned them. She was only 13, and poor as dirt.

Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

I'm over it more than they are, it was a bad business decision, they miss my talent and have lost millions in revenue since, I'm sure of this because I still talk to some upper managers, coworkers, and my crew regularly. I appreciate the concern, but enough of this.

My GF loves the Halo Voodoo. Can someone approximate the mix from basic flavorings? I think I could do it, but it sounds like at least a few drops of 6 different.

Wanna order so bad but it's FT and it's DEFINITELY a vaping device, not sure it will actually arrive and if it does so without penalty. Will try to find something similar stateside.

I bought two (a black one and a white one) from Vapor Range, but they are out of stock.

I bought two (SS, which they are out of, and 2 toned) from here for $15 ea.: Sale & Clearance Mods, RDAs, RBAs, Mechanicals and more! | Quality-Vapor ...They also have brass.

And I bought 2 copper no-logo from here for $10: Copper Nemesis Mod (Logo-Free) ...don't know the maker as it doesn't say, that I could see.

The last link, Vape Royalty, they also have other colors, but they are $26. I love the copper but wanted to pick up some stainless steel in case the copper threads didn't hold up well. They are all really nice looking.

That Nemesis clone is available on ebay for $7.95 free shipping from California.
FT is real busy now and taking several days to ship stuff that's in stock.
I ordered some coils on the 31st that they're just getting around to packaging tonight.

I am very sorry to hear this!

Many of my friends have been laid off in their late 50s here in the USA. It's really an outrageously unethical practice. ( some junior exec out on the golf course figures out with buddies that they can get a bonus by deceasing costs in their department or something. )

I am sure you will find something useful and, most probably, rewarding........you appear to be that kind of person. Good luck to ya.

My FastTech order got to Chicago in 2 days!! Wow that is fast.... I wonder if FastTech made any plans for the Deeming Date and hired more staff or something?
    Mine, too.

I have one of these, and I have had it for a while. I do not recommend it, as it is very cheaply made. It preserves its bright copper color, until it wears down and scratches. Not just no-logo, but no-no.

That Nemesis clone is available on ebay for $7.95 free shipping from California.
    Itchy fingers, here.

I was thinking that must be the case. I made my one and only FT order on the 28th, and it passed out of Chicago ISC on the third. It was either a plane or a really fast ship. From what I had read here FT packages never move that fast.

I asked FT right after I placed my order if they were anticipating any problem with shipments to America. They said they had no information on that, but maybe they just didn't want to say anything publicly. I'm sure at a company level they are following this stuff closely.

My nic & flavors are here- came a few days ago. The only delivery I am waiting on is my freezer which is supposed to be here Sat but according to tracking, it may be here tomorrow.

I do have one question regarding DIY~ I purchased 12mg 100% VG (ready to vape). I've read flavor can be added to it but I've no idea how to determine how much flavor to add.
Thats why I prefer 100mg nic, so I can determine my juice flavors and pg vg ratios and then add the nick to determined strength. Whith 12 mg. I would probably start with adding 5% flavor wich is going to bring down your nic strength of juice. If you made 100 ml. of juice I would add to start 5 ml. of a single flavor and go from there, you can always add more. There are many great threads here to learn from and someone will come along snd put links that is computer savvy for you I am sure. I personally enjoy the TFA thread.
