I wonder if they may just send the updates in a key of sorts. If they don't do the update themselves, might not qualify as a new product? I dunno....

Might be a work-around for the regs....

Personally I don't see the deeming and its call on updates - that's like saying we know you need the update to keep the device that we are allowing you to keep safe, but we would rather not let you have the update and let it blow up in your face???

Considering the FDA has stated that any software also falls under the label 'tobacco product'....

They are so terribly inept. (the FDA that is)

You really should have a dedicated nic freezer.

For maximum life-span, nic needs to be kept at -10 to -15 degrees Farenheit. Rocky Road ice cream at that temperature is as easy to scoop as a cinder block.

The typical refrigerator freezer is set for 0 degrees Farenheit, and often the temperature is higher than that for a couple of hours after it's been opened. My guess is that refrigerator freezers average 10-15 degrees Farenheit because they're opened so often during the day.

A smallish chest freezer suitable for nic storage runs $55-75 at scratch-and-dent sales. And who cares what it looks like, if you're keeping it in the basement, garage or closet.
Before I'd ever do that, I'll manage to find some room in the freezer attached to my refrigerator!
There's no way I'm gonna spend money to dedicate a freezer to just nic. Matter fact, I'm about to fill this puppy up with meat in a few short minutes!!!

Good point

I can't find one on mine..... I wonder how they update at the shops and at ProVape? Blue tooth?
The interface unit that does the upgrades has some sort of optical uplink that communicates with the chipset.

 No blue tooth. I always thought it was some sort of battery shaped device that goes in the tube like the old pass thru module and then it's connected to the P3 download program on the shop's computer, via USB, but I've never seen one.

Computer guru's can explain it better than me. There is some extensive chat somewhere in a ProVi thread or two about the sophisticated technology involved.

Who knows, maybe it will be made available to consumers someday --- if and when this "software is a tobacco product" idea gets sorted out.

Hey guys.. I have a moral dilemma question. I got a bottle of free e juice from a new vendor - one of the new big business types, simply because of how they advertised themselves I wanted to try one of their flavors, figured if it was very good I would later copy it in diy. It's just a basic flavor, chocolate cake.

Now, at the time they gave me the bottle, they asked me to review it.. I didn't have a problem with that because an honest review is an honest review. That said, here is the problem.

They asked that I pay for my shipping, which was high. 2.70 for a bottle of juice . Definitely high. I was provided no tracking information, just told it shipped.. for 2.70 I should have gotten tracking, but okay.

They didn't take great care in shipping, which I am very used to in my juice vendors, and the bottle arrived with a broken seal and 25% leaked all over the bag it shipped in.. okay.

When you smell it, it doesn't have hardly a note of chocolate in the smell.. I would have pegged it as a vanilla cake.. going by smell.

I haven't tasted it yet. I will.. but is it morally right not to have even one good thing to say? At this point I am doubtful ill be able to say anything nice.. usually you say what is both good and bad.. but what if I taste this and it's all bad..

Heck at this point prior to tasting it about all I have to say is don't waste your money.

Should I just avoid giving a review? Or do I just give my honest opinion, even if I can't say anything good?
So wait.......did you ask for the free bottle of juice to try it out OR did they offer to send you a free bottle on the condition you review it? From your words it sounds like you asked for it. With that said.....
If you asked for it, then I see why you were charged for shipping- not like they charged you for the bottle of juice so that part there you can leave out of your review as it wouldn't be fair to expect them to send you a free bottle AND eat the shipping cost.

Now as far as the condition you rec'd it, take pics & send that to them & if possible post them in your review if you decide to do ahead & do it. Wouldn't be me tho! I'd packed that ish back up & return it to them! No way in hell am I vaping something with a cracked seal. That's the 1st rule of any safety standard....if the seal is cracked/punctured, don't use it!

I know several of you have sent mods in for clean-up. Just a reminder to make sure any mods have been cleaned up before putting them away.
ProVape (IMO) does an outstanding job of cleaning up mods- send them back to you like they're brand new.
REOmods wants you to clean it before you send it in to him. If he has to do it, there's a charge for it (I dont remember how much).

Will provape still be in business to clean and do warranties?

Got my k100 today, love it. I had forgotten how to even set up and use a mech w/carto, lol. Been awhile. This is a great back up deal, imo. Where else can you get a nice carrying case, telescoping mod, 2 batts, charger, 2 cartos, drip tip and drip shield for 13.50? Fast shipping and I will keep an eye on my cc due to not being a secure site. May have to get another one cause I love green. :w00t:

You must be reading my mind .....and it's scary in there too! I would not pay for shipping on a bottle of eliquid I was receiving (for free) to review, if you asked for it to review it then maybe but lets face it they get a lot in return revenue, from a good review, ....... and NO WAY would I vape eliquid that was open leaking compromised, I would contact the vendor and let them know what happened and give an honest review.

I want to believe if nothing else they will stay around for the next 2 years.
I saw all of that and looking at the company as a business stand point, with the amount of money for the building, land and high dollar equipment, what would be the best option for them....stay 2 yrs and lose value or go now... just thinking so no hating please.:)

Not sure how they would lose value over the next 2 years? If they were to bail now they stand to lose a lot especially if the grandfather date changes or one of the many lawsuits against the FDA is successful. I agree some of the laws the States are enacting are a determent but a heck of a lot can change in 2 years including State laws.....
