Sad, one county, 15 miles north of me. Owner would meet me at the post office if i wanted to save postage, or anyone else.
Bought my first istick 20 from them, Holloween 2014..
That is just soooooo sad. :(

They're handy to have around, two of my Mech's have a hybrid style connection and I won't run them without the heat sink.

I think I need a copper one, and a gold one.

Thanks, all. Ordered heat sinks and more cotton. I have enough cotton coming for 3 lifetimes, I am sure.

Glad to see that A Billion Lives sold out for the premiere.
I feel better knowing that I have them, just in case. :)
That's awesome that it sold out!!!!

Dont forget to put some silica gel in all the containers where you have anything with metal - devices, coils, etc. Even if you have A/C in your home, it probably isn't running year around and silica gel is cheap insurance agsinst humidity damage. You dont want to open one of those boxes that holds one of your treasures a few years fron now and find it all rusty. I use it in my gun box too.

I bought a 1.5 lb container for about $8. I use old salt shakers and spice bottles without the lid but with its shaker lid on. The advantage of using this stuff instead of the sealed little packets is that it's reusable. After the gel absorbs a lot of moisture it turns pink. You put it in the oven for a few minutes to dry it out and you can reuse it.
Do you know, can the packettes be opened, emptied and dried in the oven. I have a bunch of them, one that came in something came in a rather large bag.
I know it's definitely cheap enough to order new, but I would rather re-use and recycle when possible. :)

Well one more day to go, I want to thank everyone on this list, you have been fabulous !!! It was a fun and furious stock up mission we are on, thanks for everyone's help! It was so much fun :)
I want to thank everyone as well. :)
It was so interesting to see everyone's long term choices, and I learned new tricks and info along the way.

I would imagine there will still be people just learning about all this as their local B&M's close up. :(
So I guess, there may be more that find there way here looking for help going forward.

From what I've read, the packets are not reusable and should not be torn open. You can, however, dry the bulk stuff that comes in big containers.
Okay, thanks! I'll get some ordered then.
I'd already put some of the packettes in with things, but I have NO idea how old they are.

Also, 3M makes anti-tarnish strips for people with things that would tarnish. I would think it would help to preserve brass items, but I've mainly used it for sterling silver things. :)
They work great too.

i have lost 2 phones because i couldnt charge them,, why? because i was stuffing my phone into my pockets,, full of lint getting crammed right up into the charge port. some phones dont come with the little plug to protect the phone... so i bought some plugs.......the reason i bring this up,, even if you dont use the pass through charging/vaping features of your mods.. you may need to charge your phone via that port because you ran out of batteries. Those are for the full size USB. Most mods have micro usb ports, right?

i agree with you. I've been recycling, reusing, repurposing all my adult life.

I use those little packets in my vitamin pill bottles because those pills will be usedfairly fast but I didnt want to take a chance with my stash since we're talking years.

Me too, we're limited in our area as to what can be recycled, but I try to recycle what I can.
I absolutely detest the "disposable" society we've become.

I pulled those from some pill bottles too, just yesterday in fact. :D

Glad I don't have Florida humidity to deal with, were in the Central MidWest area, so we get our fair share, but not year round. We run A/C, but still want to have that extra insurance.
If you're in a coastal area, you have to deal with high salt/saline levels in your humidity as well...that's also extremely unkind to metals (wiring/components). :(

Also, I thought someone posted that they had asked ProVape about long term storage, and that ProVape said not to vacuum seal with the silica packettes, can anyone confirm that?
I want to say that they'd stated that if you vacuum seal it with them, it would pull moisture from the silica.
...I don't know...maybe I just dreamed that.
I've read so much the last ninety days that my head just swims sometimes.

I'm interested in what you find out, I just got some silica packs but haven't done anything with them yet. I was going to put a couple in a ziplock with each provari mini. I don't have a vacuum sealer though.

@LoriP1702 central midwest, hmm, sounds about where I lived until 2.5 years ago - Greater Cinti area. :)

My thinking on using silica gel is that unless we live in a state like Arizona that has virtually no humidity, it's cheap insurance for stuff most of us spent hundreds of dollars buying.

I think they said just in the box they came in, or a box with a silica packette, but not sealed.
Maybe someone will come by and confirm, or set us straight.

Exactly, kind of like making sure cars and such have oil. :)

Rural S. Central IL. Corn and soy bean heartland. ;)
Nearest large city is St. Louis.

@LoriP1702 that was me who asked Provape about long term storage. Here is their answer again: "The silica packets will definitely keep any moisture out of the ProVari while it is being stored. The other important thing to keep in mind is to not store a battery in your ProVari. Storing them at room temperature in their box with a silica packet is all you really need. If you don't have a silica packet available, just take them out every 6 months or so and give them a cleaning to remove any oxidation that may have formed. Following these steps should allow you to store them pretty much indefinitely"

I imagine the forum will see a substantial influx of new users when the B&Ms start closing en masse.

Just the silica packs in the box with mod. I did store my mini in a baggie for years tho to keep it from getting dusty/dirty with no silica and was fine, but I use silica now.
