I started on Evods. They were good enough to get me off smoke and keep me off.
I actually quit using Blu's.
Looking back, I surely don't know HOW I managed to do that, but somehow I did, for almost 2 months I used them.

Ah, the kr8's. Memories, I was one of the very few who didn't like them much. I still have some around somewhere.

Not sure I'd call it fun, but I did take advantage of the FT sale yesterday. :)

I have a 2nd grandson that sometimes vapes. He's not committed to vaping. He doesn't take care of his stuff so it breaks within a few months and I don't quickly replace it for him as I won't be an enabler.:( And while I've tried to teach him safety he's just not a good candidate for rebuilding or mechanicals. I had a few things in my stash that would fit his needs, but I hadn't stocked up specifically for him.

I decided this past weekend that I wanted to have 3 full setups that would fit his future needs in my stash. He likes some clouds but he doesn't like high wattage. When I saw the FT sale I decided to ordered some more Cubis coils for the AIO I already stashed, some more Kanger ssocc coils for the 2nd NeBox I stashed (he currently has a NeBox which he likes and has managed to not break yet after 2 months) and I ordered a Melo 3 tank and coils to go with the Segelei 50WT mod I stashed. Already had some RBA's for all three if he should decide to become responsible enough to rebuild, but not holding my breath on that one. :(

Nothing I added for him is going to keep him vaping for an extremely long time(if he doesn't break it first) but I can still hope that in the next year he'll gain some responsibility with his stuff and get for himself a few more things. At least now I know I've extended his vaping, at least for a while into the future. And if he doesn't use them, someone else will. :)
Out of curiosity, how old is your grandson?
When my son starting vaping he'd break everything I gave him that *I* bought. I don't quite remember what his last setup was but it was one I made him spend his own money on. I also made him get on youtube & learn something about it & how to properly maintain it.
People tend to take better care of their stuff when they spend their own money on it.

I couldn't make it 2 hrs. It was like try'na to suck a watermelon thru a straw!
I was serious about wanting to quit smoking so I sought out other options but in my 'hood, the Blu fit right into the cool factor younger people were looking for. For many where I live it wasn't about quitting smoking but that lil blu LED on the end. Seem to make them think they had arrived ahead of the class. :?:

Blu even had some sort of "social" option you could sign up for to "alert" you when there were other Blu users around you.

My (original) problem was that when I quit, 09/10/12, in my area, there wasn't anything...nothing.
I think I'd been vaping a year and a half before the first vape shop (that I knew of) opened in the St. Louis area, and forget about buying anything at a B&M....mega $$$$.
At first even when you looked online, around the time I started, everything just looked pretty much like the Blu, and I had NO idea what to get, stuff was pricey then too ( I thought ).
Then I found Johnson Creek Vea's, back then, they were almost $80 to get set up, can't remember if that included a bottle of juice too, and I'd just spent something like $90 to get two sets of Blu's.

I really floundered for the first 6 months, with the above mentioned devices, THANK GOD ABOVE :nun: that I found ECF when I did!!
After finding ECF, I was able to find what and where to get other things shortly after that.

...and, I didn't mean that post to sound like I'm knocking vendors at B&M's, cuz I'm not at all.

I do accounts payable, I know first hand all the expenses that retail places have to cover. ;)
I just meant in the sense that it was much more expensive to try new things starting out. :)

My dear heart spent nearly $400 Christmas 2012 at a mall kiosk, for three cigalikes, several boxes of replacement thingies, and a few bottles of cig-flavored juice. I made the switch May 2013 using that purchase, and ordered more juice from MBV. Those cigalike were AWFUL, but I quit successfully, and bought my first decent mod (Provari Mini/original Protank) thanks to finding ECF.:cool::p:thumbs::party:

I completely agree with you. He's still 18, but almost 19 and a twin to my other grandson that is committed and responsible taking care of his stuff. He is extremely hard on any electronic devices, not just ecigs. And not because someone will just replace it for him, as that doesn't ever happen in his house.

Grandma won't just hand him new ecig stuff when he breaks what he has. He's not committed to vaping, even though he likes it when he's using it, when it breaks he has no problem going back to just smoking. He's a dual user when he does vape. I have tried to impress on him the difference between it stopped working because he did something stupid with it and it stopped working even though he was doing everything right. When it's not his fault then I'll help, but not when he is at fault. It's pretty easy to tell the difference. ;)

So now that we are mostly stocked up we can now sit back and watch the vape market wiggle and squirm trying to meet FDA requirements from here on out. I feel so bad for vendors and them trying to comply only for 2 more years unless things change for predicate date. It is actually painful to watch!

Yes, even though the age verification and signature required as well as filling out those stupid DOB things on vendor sites are all annoying, imagine the vendors having to put all that stuff in place. I am sure they are as frustrated as we are or more so.

I forgot to say, I was reading about modding the closed system units and thought...well, anyone can do that so the FDA isn't going to really stop vaping. I think it is really all about money and nothing else. They know they can't stop modders/creative people so they will make it annoying/difficult for new vapers but overall won't change anything except perhaps make some people more willing to pay the heavy tax.
